  • I am 5pdiui so just waiting it out. I have been working a lot and do until Friday morning so hoping that will keep my mind occupied.

I have never had Chick Fila but have heard its good. My favorite fast food is Taco Time which ironically my DH got for us tonight after my long weekend at work. Yum!!

  • I have been really busy and not able to post much but I had my first IUI Saturday. Friday morning I had one 20mm follicle (a couple other very small ones) so I triggered Friday night. The procedure itself was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting - it just felt like a pap. So I start progesterone Tuesday and I go back on the 20th for an HCG/progesterone test. that seems like such a long time to wait! I'm considering testing every day with a cheapie so I know when the trigger is out of my system but I'm trying to just wait until the appt. We'll see!

    I hope everyone's cycles are going well : )

    image

  • Currently 3DPIUI. It went great, DH had 22 mil motile out of 28 mil total post-wash. The trigger was easy, gave it to myself and felt like a warrior princess.

Got my first trigger-induced BFPs, and was pretty shocked shocked when FF greeted me with morning with a big "Congratulations!!" screen. Yikes, I was just keeping track to know when my trigger was out!

@rainbowbridge14 Sorry for the BFN, hopefully it's still just early!

@annaclaire256 Yay for breaks! Perhaps the true measure of whether a break is truly providing a rejuvenating hiatus is if one doesn't know one's current cycle day. :)

@angelina2404 So sorry for your painful and drawn-out IUI. :( I've heard that if the cervix happens to be getting firm/closed again (which often happens just before O) then the catheter can have a harder time.

@mbrookern Glad your IUI went smoothly! It was tough to decide if I would test out the trigger - seemed kind of sucky to first see a BFP that meant nothing, but more than that I didn't want to preclude myself from testing before beta, so figured I really need to know if that trigger is out and give myself the choice! Then again, I seriously considered not testing out trigger so that I would basically have to choice but to wait. :)

  • I'm only 4dpiui. We did back to back ones last Wednesday and Thursday and everything went well. The first day my husband had 83 million post wash and the second day about 25 million. I had 3 mature follicles. I'm still doing the whole "plan for the next cycle" thing though because our last iui sounded just as promising and was bfn. I guess after 3 years and 4 failed iuis I'm just pretty pessimistic. Oh I also started progesterone on Saturday. Those are always such a joy what with the fake symptoms and all haha.

@angelina2404‌ I'm glad you found a RE that you're comfortable with! This cycle sounds like it went really well for you so far!

@rainbowbridge14‌ sorry about the test! I've got my FX for you!

Is it sad that I can't decide on a favorite fast food place? I don't eat it all the time because I know it's bad for me and I just don't want to spend the money, but I do love it. It's definitely a guilty pleasure : )

    Good luck to everyone!!
  • Good morning! I am 4dpiui #2 and this wait already feels like its dragging. Our SA this month was slightly worse than last month which frustrates both of us but we gotta keep our heads up and fingers crossed!!

  • I'm in the home stretch of the 2WW for iui #2 and I'm so over the waiting game. I test on Friday and I'm so ready to just know. I will say that I'm less obsessive about it this time round than I was with iui #1. But I've been having dreams that I am pregnant which I used to love and always took it as a "sign" but now I just think it's a mean trick my mind plays with me. I think I'm going to take Friday off that way I can either celebrate or lay in bed all day.

QOTW: Does Panera count as fast food? I mean they do have a drive thru lol

  • @rainbowbridge14 FX that youstill  get your BFP!!!

    @fightersince83 @cwuredhot @molly84 @bunnyberry @mbrookeRN Wishing you a stress free 2WW and a BFP!!!!

@angelina2404 So sorry you had a painful IUI... Hoping it was all worth it!!!

Welp... IUI#1 was a bust. AF showed up today and is totally kicking my ass. Ever since starting fertility drugs AF has been super heavy and painful. No bueno.

MH and I decided to take a break until after the first of the year. We have a lot of things going on right now (buying a house, starting school, holidays, etc.) and financially we just aren't able to do it all.  So we decided to take a time out from TTC and focus on the other things for a few months. I have VERY mixed feelings about doing this. On one hand, I'm excited because I'll be taking a break from the meds that have been totally f*cking with me, and hopefully getting rid of some of the pressure and stress of TTGP. But on the other hand, we've only done IUI#1, and I kind of feel like we're giving up. I know that's not the case, but I mean, it feels like we just started (even thought we've been doing medicated cycles + TI for 3 months prior).

@AnnaClaire256 Are you totally med/monitoring free during your break?

QOTW: I shamefully admit that we eat out wayyyyyy to much. This IF funk has made me hate cooking (not drinking during treatments means I can't drink wine while I cook, therefore I don't want to cook). I'd have to say right now I'm on an Arby's kick. Apparently I have an addictive personality and once I like something, I get stuck on it for weeks. Right now I am loving the Market Fresh Turkey/Bacon/Ranch sandwich (no ranch) and Jalapeno Poppers. I mean, what genious knew that a berry sauce would taste so damn delish with poppers?!

@mmmKayy‌ yep. Totally med and monitoring free. No pills, no b/w, no u/s, no charting and not even any OPKs! I can TOTALLY understand where you're coming from. Taking a break is a really hard decision to make...especially when you feel like you were starting to get somewhere! The break (so far) has been surprisingly refreshing for me.

I hope you're able to come to peace with it. Sounds like you have A LOT on your plate right now! Do you ovulate on your own? I do but usually closer to CD18. My RE thinks without the trigger shot my follicles tend to "over ripen" before they release and won't be viable. I've still got my FX for a miracle.

  • Just finished IUI #5 so I guess I'm technicallly in the 2WW wait.  We had the lowest sperm numbers post wash yet, but my Dr was still fine with it since it was about 5 Million.  I had a really good reaction to follistim with 3-4 great follicles and great CM and lining.  I start crinone on Wednesday.

My favorite fast food is hands down taco bell.  I love that place...especially after a few drinks :)

    @AnnaClaire256Thanks for the response.

I actually just got off the phone with the RE's office and I'm really mad/frustrated/sad/etc... MH's #'s were terrible for the IUI >>> prewash 18 mil, post wash 1 mil.... along with 0% morph and "very very low motility". I don't know their requirements for IUI's, but I feel like 1 mil is not enough, especially since he had 0% morph. She said that he should see a urologist before we come off our break and make a plan for more treatments, because right now our next step would be IVF.

I'm so heartbroken because I thought our struggle would only go as far as IUI. I never in a million years thought we'd ever be considering IVF.

  • I have had the same thing. Was it Dr. P by chance? He took forever to get mine. That being said, of my 5 IUIs 2 were horrible and took forever and the others weren't that bad. It seems odd, but sometimes I think it can just depend on  the day.

All my fingers are crossed for you this cycle!!!
I read somewhere that a full bladder makes it easier.  So I always go with a full bladder and it's been super easy.  Last cycle I blanked and went to the bathroom right before and he ended up having a hard time getting the cath in and for the first time even had spotting right after.  Maybe it was a coincident tho.

  • @BunnyBerry and @Fightersince83, I am with you guys on 3dpiui!

Finding out about MH's azoospermia has completely destroyed my faith in anything fertility related, so of course I am constantly paranoid about timing and whether I actually ovulated. As a data freak, I still temp - even though the hormones mess with it - and I think my temp rose this morning, which is a nice little reassurance that maybe things worked the way the were supposed to. Yay for small victories!

QOTW: As a vegan, I am sadly deprived of many fast food options. We used to live in Brooklyn, and there was this amazing vegan fast food joint. I am drooling just thinking about it. Now that we live in Indiana there aren't as many option. Although, I do have soft spot for Burger King onion rings.

  • Today is 12dpiui and I got a BFN :( I'm really sad because this is IUI#3 and I had heard that if IUI is going to work it'll probably work in the first three cycles. Hopefully that's not necessarily true - our plan is to push forward with more IUIs. (insurance will cover 6 and my husband is not comfortable with IVF) So yeah... rough day.

QOTW: My favorite is Panera Bread - does that count as fast food?? If that doesn't count - my weakness is Auntie Anne's pretzels.

My husband was diagnosed with state IV colon cancer in 2009. Surgery and six rounds of chemo left him in remission (yay!) but with low testosterone. He took Androgel for two years starting in Jan 2011.
-SA in Jan 2013: big fat zero; stopped Androgel
    -varicocelectomy in June 2013

    Congrats loveinkw13!!!!

I went in for an ultrasound on Sunday (CD 14) and had 3 follicles-
1.95cm, 1.7cm and 1.45cm. They said that the smallest one might not grow enough in time to ovulate. H gave me the HCG shot last night. I definitely wasn't a warrior princess like @BunnyBerry and my butt is still quite sore. I go in tomorrow morning (CD 16) for the IUI.

I thought I might have ovulation signs (CM, cervical position etc...) but so far nothing. Is that normal?

I don't really have a favorite fast food place as a vegetarian. Maybe Subway?

ETA: What did you do the day of the IUI? Go back to work? Lie around and relax?

Big hugs to everyone who needs them, and good luck to all!!

I'm miserable. Today is either CDay23 or CDay1 again! :(

Even though I responded fairly quickly during previous Letrozole cycles, this time around my follies appeared to be growing slowly, then stopped.  Hormone levels actually dropped when we checked on Thursday.  So I was prescribed a second round of Letrozole (same dose) for 5 days, the last of which was today.  However, today I am BLEEDING!  WTF?!

My RE has me scheduled to go back for b/w and u/s on Thurs, which will either be (hopefully) showing follie growth or will be my baseline for starting over AGAIN.  :(

I am truly hoping that this is just heavy spotting.

QOTW:  I'm another in the vegetarian/vegan boat.  Chipotle is about the closest thing that I eat to fast food, does that count?

  • BFN for me this month. I have a consultation with a new RE in a couple weeks so we'll hopefully get some answers and a new game plan.

@mmmKayy‌ and @moto611‌ Sorry for your BFN's as well :(
  • Just took my last dose of Femara on cd7. IUI#2 should be sometime next week.

My sil just had her egg retrieval today for possible ivf later this week. I'm trying to be positive and supportive. I'd be lying if I didn't say I was a bit jealous. Although it wouldn't it be great for both of us to have a bfp this month?

My favorite fast food is steak and shake but we don't have one around here. I'm currently in love with jersey mikes.

cwuredhot - where are you from? I believe taco time is a pacnw joint? I'm in PDX metro. I love the crisp chicken burrito with a taco salad. :)
  • @hunnyluvsjorge I believe you are right that taco time is PNW place. I live southeast of Seattle (between Seattle and Tacoma)

  • I'm the the 2WW hell. I'm 9dpo. POAS this morning and it was negative. I know its too early but it still sucks and added to my funk. My husband was an asshole right before he left for work. I had to tell him I loved him and I really didn't want to. Plus this weekend was long and stressful with the family. So much drama and emotional exhaustion.

QOTW...My fave is Arbys. I usually end up going only when I'm by myself because no one else really likes it. They just don't know how delicious the mystery roast beef is!

    Good luck to everyone!

  • @fightersince83 No, haven't taken progesterone yet. I'm taking estradiol (Estrace) because lining was 6.0 when lead follie was 13mm...at the time the nurse didn't tell me to, so I asked if I should, and she said, okay. That's always encouraging right? :) Hope the heartburn goes away. :( Does it help to take the med with or without food? Or prop up on pillows at night?

  • @Fightersince83‌ I hate progesterone supplements! My RE actually just gave me the ok to stop using them this cycle. But, I had to use them all during my last 2ww and they played with my mind like crazy. I swear I had almost every textbook symptom just for a bfn. So I completely feel you! FX for a bfp for you!!
  • @fightersince83 I have not had to take progesterone supplements yet. But, like @bunnyberry, I had to take Estrace this month to help with my lining since my follies had been so active. Heartburn blows! Can you carry Tums around and eat them like candy? ;-)

  • Hi everyone,
    1) I'm in the 2ww, 9dpiui today (took a test this morning and it was a BFN, I know it's too early but it wasn't really the way I wanted to start my day)
    2) This is our first IUI
    3) Test day is Monday but we'll be on vacation so I'm hoping I get a BFP Friday so I have time to visit the RE before to get it confirmed, although I've given up hope for this cycle and am attributing all the "symptoms" to progesterone side effects.

Favorite fast food place currently would have to be Taco Bell, although I've been at Sonic for an iced tea almost everyday lately.
  • @fightersince83 Oh my goodness, I just assumed if they were causing heartburn... LOL :)

I take generic Prilosec everyday for a hiatal hernia and it's really effective, which I know because when I miss a pill I'm in agony within a few hours! My doctor also had me on Zantac 150 for a while, they are safe as a daily thing too and have fewer systemic effects, and were quite effective.

  • ((Hugs)) for the BFNs For my cycle buddies, @BunnyBerry‌ @GoBucksOH‌ @mshandlebar‌ anyone else on progesterone supplements? The side effects are messing with my mind. I've had so much heartburn but there's no way I would even have implanted yet if we were lucky enough to have this work. Not cool pills, not cool at all. [-(
@fightersince83 I'm having terrible heartburn too!  As well as nausea.  Stupid progesterone.

So I decided to test out the trigger.... I did it last Friday so it is now 5 days later.  Got my wondfos in the mail just now so I thought I'd test... BFN?  I thought it was supposed to last like 14 days?!  I did 10000 of hcg.  I'm a little confused but I'll try again tomorrow with FMU and see if that makes a difference.
