One or two mods?

Since it would seem @mandjs is serious about stepping down from her mod position and there is already some disagreement in the random thread about whether or not we even need an additional mod, I figured we should vote. I know some people thought we needed three, so I figured we'd agree to vote for a new second mod, but I'm thinking we should be democratic about this and see if M15 for sure wants a second mod.

    Are we all pretty much in consensus that if there are to be two mods and I think that's usually the norm, then as runner up @FrecklesInside‌ should be mod? That's my two cents anyone else agree?

    I don't care either way.  I'm fine on my own (because then I don't have to communicate with anyone else about who I have or have no been in contact with) but if you guys want 2 mods I understand why.

    I agree @chaysefaith 's opinion matters - as an opinion of a member on this board. I disagree that a mod has the power to decide if another mod is needed or not. I think M15 should make this decision. Which is why I made the poll.

    I think, since @chaseyFaith is ok doing it solo and hasn't expressed a desire for a 2nd, that we are ok with one, so long as she continues to be ok being solo

    Maybe I got ahead of myself but it seemed like we went over this more than once and like pp said I don't think it's up to a mod alone to decide if she wants another mod, not that chayse said she didn't, I just think it should be a board decision, and if we were all in agreement about the runner up being the natural next choice for a mod, we could skip all the extra stuff. That of course is only if we or at least the majority were in agreement. It just seems like the natural choice only because last time we voted she was the next choice.

    I voted for two mods before I saw ChayseFaith's response. I would definitely want to honor her opinion. But I voted for two mods because it seems like a pretty big job for the next five or so months when this board will be super active. ChayseFaith can't (and should haven't to) be here all of the time.

    No one said it was up to any ONE person to decide. But before we pick a second moderator, we need to first see if the board WANTS a second moderator. 

    ETA: Also, the runner up from before was months ago, when many of the current regulars weren't even here. I do think it's most fair to hold another vote if a second moderator is deemed necessary. Not to say Freckles won't "win", but... just seems like the fairest way to MAKE that determination.

    Obviously this is not my decision alone, just like it's not your decision alone. But a poll is the easiest way to get input from the most people and keep their answers "straight", kwim?


    Honestly I didn't even think about that fact that there are tons more people here than when the original vote was cast. Taking that into consideration you're right that to be fair we should vote again if we do want another mod and if anyone else nominates themselves or another

    I don't think you did anything wrong by posting this, it had to get voted on one way or another so it's a non issue as to who starts the thread.

    Oh FFS.  This is why this board gets poked.  You truly don't need to respond to everything.

    And she clearly didn't need to call me out over nothing! We have enough drama without starting more amongst ourselves and no one would have read that if it was directed at them and not responded. Why should I just sit back and take something obviously meant to be nasty directed at me by someone I've never had issue with?

    If you log in on the knot, there is a setting you can change for the max size of quote trees

    So, I'm going to call this. It's about midnight here. I mean, it can go ahead and run until tomorrow, but I doubt the one mod vote is going to catch up to two mods.
