  • SS- I wasn't in the "popular crowd", but I hung out with just about every group. I played volleyball so did hang out with some of the jocks. The program I was in kind of made us be well rounded. However since it was an advanced program we did get teased for being nerds but whatever. I definitely wasn't at the bottom of the totem pole.

  • I voted ss because I was in a very very small private school. Our graduating class only had 21 kids and we were the biggest class the school ever had. So there was really no popular or unpopular.
  • I was popular. I think I was well liked because I was truly nice to everyone. I was also involved in student government, track and cheerleading so I associated with a lot of different kinds of people.

  • I was one of the better female athletes at my high school and actually ended up running track at a division I school. I think everyone knew who I was but I don't think I would've labeled myself as popular. I didn't really have a lot of time outside of school and sports to have much of a social life.

  • I wasn't popular I don't think. Everyone knew me because I hung out with so many groups and I was the best sprinter on our track team. I was very awkward, and still kind of am, so I actually didn't have friends I had more of aquaintences with people. I spent free time mostly by myself which really didn't bother me, I'm not a social person. So not popular but everyone knew me type of situation.
  • I had to go ss on this one. I knew a lot of people and had a lot of friends but I was not in the 'popular' crowd that had crazy parties, drank and were generally considered the cool kids. I was in the drama club/cross country track crew and while generally we were nerdier than most we were awesome!
  • Yes, i was.

However, i always think of how different it would be if we went back in this day and age. 21 Jump street style. It would be completely different.

  • I went to a private Christian school. K-12 had about 100 kids total. There was no popular or Un popular.
  • There are only three answers because I want explanations!

I'll add to mine so you all don't think I was a complete dork. By the end of high school I hung out with mostly everyone (small class, maybe 60 kids), did theater and choir which were cool at my school, was famous for TPing cute guys houses, and learned some better jokes. I did hang out with the Star Wars nerds but mostly because they were nice, not because I owned a Jedi robe and a light saber or anything!

  • I was a complete nerd in high school. I think this ended up working out quite well now that I have a successful career that required a lot of schooling and Friday nights spent studying and am in a happy marriage in my thirties. But man did it seem way cooler to be popular at the time.

  • I was popular in multiple groups for most of my school career. I was moved to a different high school and city in my sophomore year that was extremely different from my own, so I rebelled. I refused to assimilate and hopped on the bus every Friday after school and my mom would bring me back on Sundays. I hated it so much I left early, got my GED and started college.

  • SS - I went to a small private school, and 90% of my high school class studied with me since kindergarten. so we really knew each other, and also people from other classes very well. I was by far not the prettiest - too tall, too skinny, nose way too big - but my group of friends was huge, with just all kinds of people.
on my last year of high school i went to a boarding school in France, where I was popular just for being Brazilian.
  • No, I was shy, different from the "norm", and an introvert. If I felt comfortable with someone... I was very open and talkative (still the same to this day).
The "popular" people at my school were either jocks or partiers. However, I had acquaintances and friends from all groups. Really just depended on who I "clicked" with.
If I had to place myself in a group? Definitely the theatre group.

  • I was in volleyball, track and softball. But I also had crazy hair colors and was in marching band. My best friends were the tall, skinny blonde prom queen and princesses and I was this short, stubby punk girl. I have no idea what I was.

  • Like many others on here I was kind of in the middle. I was voted best personality and was very active in Sports (basketball, cross country, volleyball and soccer which was my main sport). I graduated in the top 10, did honor society, key club, Spanish club. I hung out with lots of different groups and tried to be friends with everyone. My parents were very strict so no partying for me but I still tried to hang out whenever possible. :)
  • Band geek for lyfe! But I married a popular guy (not from my high school). Although he will deny that.

  • Definitely not popular in high school, but more so in college.  I had a close group of friends (they're still some of my best friends), but I'm pretty sure most people thought I was weird.

  • I was a drama geek and a choir geek. I kind of hung out with all of the groups and knew lots of people. I don't know if I was popular or not though. I didn't get picked on, but I wasn't Homecoming Queen.
  • I chose SS because I wasn't really popular, but I wouldn't say unpopular either.  I guess it'd be closer to no than anything.  I feel like I went to a unique HS because everybody really and their own group/clique and you could intermingle between them, but you had a core group that you socialized with.  I was part of the orchestra/choir group and was also a member of the swim team.  I also went to a HS that was broken into magnet programs, which was almost it's own school in and of itself.  Within the program, I was friends with and knew just about everyone.

  • I was a soccer player, band geek, drama geek, youth in philanthropy chair, dancer, youth group combo. I knew a lot of people but was on the quiet side so I wasn't a "popular" kid. Except among the kids I taught dance, soccer, and gymnastics to. They thought I was pretty cool haha.

  • I would say yes. I was very friendly to all my peers. Hanged out with everyone. :)

  • SS - I had a lot of friends and was popular among a variety of social groups but wasn't in "the popular group" that partied or drank. So yes, I was popular. But no, I wasn't the most popular or in the stereotypical high school popular group.

  • I voted SS.  I had a few very close friends in HS, but many acquaintances.  I was in a lot of diverse activities (cheerleading, golf, NHS, band, student govt) and my HS wasn't very big.  I wasn't unpopular, but I wasn't one of the kids who'd go out partying and drinking.
  • I feel really stupid saying yes, but yes I was. I went to an all girls Catholic high school and I was well liked by most. I was definitely not as popular with the boys though lol.

  • Similar to some others I went to a small private school. We had about 45 in our class so there wasn't really a popular/unpopular. I was involved in a lot but I'm a big time introvert. Introvert shout out @Laynabella

  • My husband and I ran in different social circles until senior year, he was definitely in the nerdy group. I don't think I fit in one group, I liked people in all of them but a lot my friends didn't go to my school. I remember I got really caught up in a reading list one year and read during lunch almost everyday. Or my friends had a different lunch then me.

  • Band geek for lyfe! But I married a popular guy (not from my high school). Although he will deny that.

I was also in marching band so no, I wasn't popular!! My husband said he was popular though, but he was a jock so of course he was cool :)

  • I would also say that I fell in the middle. I was in band and AP classes but most of my friends were also Jewish and we had our own clique that didn't really factor into popular or not. My class was about 425 people.
  • SS: Freshman/Sophomore year I was definitely not.  After some older students graduated and I figured out how to dress myself, I was pretty popular by Jr/Sr year.  I won Homecoming Queen Senior year :P

Popular. I was a cheerleading captain, student body leader, homecoming princess, and my yearbook superlative was most likely to become president. My high school was about 6,000 students. But I talk to absolutely no one from high school today. (Thank God) I went to school out of state for college and never looked back. So glad I didn't stay in my hometown and marry high school sweetheart like so many expected. I was so ready for that part of my life to end.
Lol. Now I'm an AP at a high school, so go figure!

I was also in marching band so no, I wasn't popular!! My husband said he was popular though, but he was a jock so of course he was cool :)

I was also a band nerd. Lol. I was the saxophone section leader and popular to the band kids, but awkward to the regular crowd.
  • My graduating class alone was 1,200 kids. I hung out with a lot of different groups. It was pretty hard to be popular among that many people. I was always busy with friends and always invited to most things so I guess maybe I was.

  • I was never popular. Half the people hated my social group cause we all dressed in black and was obsessed with Anime and Invader zim. I loved my friends in our little outcast group. We always had the best times. I might show you guys some pictures of that but I only been out of high school for two years  :))

  • I'd say I was the middle of the road, average, plain Jane gal in school. I deffinalty wasent part of the cool, trendy kids, but I had a ton of friends from lots of diffrent clicks. Probably because I did a lot of stuff in high school. I was varsity all state volleyball (setter #1) all 4 years, key club 4 years and Vice President and president, Flag Corp with the marching band, AP and advanced classes, and participated in work study senior year while graduation with honors and academic distinction.
