I read somewhere I think parenting.com that if your mom delivered late/early/on time that you may deliver the same. Actually I've read that about a lot of things stretch marks, etc. My mom said she delivered 3 to 5 days early and only in labor 4 to 6 hours with all 3 of us. Have any of u btdt moms found any correlation with ur moms delivery times/labor and urs?
While it is true that babies born on time/late tend to have lower risk for health problems, I think if you take care of yourself you shouldn't worry about delivering a little early. My mom delivered 4 babies all early (I came 3 wks early) and had all extremely healthy babies. She told me I should expect to deliver early based on that.

I believe it! My mom was over due with all 4 of her children and also had fast easy labors and I did with my first aswel. Also my bump looked just like my moms. The stretch mark thing I was hoping was true bc my mother did not get any but I actually did get a few but very little and they were no longer visible after a few months so she probably had the same thing happen. But all of my moms babies were 7-8 pounds and mine was 6.
I am not remotely scandalized by someone hoping their kid arrives 6 days before their due date. You guys are acting like she is wanting the kid to show up at 36 weeks. She will be past 39 weeks. It isn't anything to clutch pearls over.
Thank you! I couldn't figure out why people were so up in arms over 6 days.

I haven't heard about a correlation, but I was two weeks early and my son came a week early. So fairly similar for us the first time around.
My water broke with my son at 38.3 and he was born at 38.4 weeks, so 11 days early is when labor started and 10 days early when he was born. I was in early labor, including dilation and contractions, for around 3.5 weeks leading up to that point, though. I will have a repeat csection this time around and it's tentatively scheduled for 5/15. My doctor thinks I'll go early again, which is fine by me. I hate the idea of choosing the baby's birthday, but I am not a candidate for VBAC.
DD1 was 39w6 days and DD2 was 39w3 days...both were spontaneous although I do think my doctor may have magical powers....labor began within 2 hours of an appointment with her for both girls.
My mom had me a full 2 weeks late and my sister 3 weeks early so no real correlation there...I was a huge baby and my sister was tiny....my girls were both just shy of 7lbs so fairly average.
With each kid and bmb the "I would love to meet my baby early" comments have come out and started drama...I think it's safe to say that unless the poster is an obvious troll, that there is an implied "as long as baby is ready" attached to that statement....if baby is healthy and ready to come out and its a few days early, who wouldn't be excited to meet their baby a little early? just my opinion on that topic
Y'all, @Wish4BabyM is only talking about a difference of 6 days. She's not hoping for a month early or anything, and due dates are always +/- 2 weeks. She's not crazy for hoping her baby will be born on her own birthday. That'd be a sweet thing for them to share.

My first son was due in 1998 and was born in 1999. He was due December 31th and wasn't born till January 10th. I was supposed to be induced the 11th.
My second son due April 1st and I was induced April 3 because he failed a NST. I ended up needing an emergency c-section because he was having heart rate dips.
Number 1 and 2 were both posterior positioned.
My third son was a RCS scheduled at 39+6.
My doctor already said he will schedule my RCS for 38 weeks for twins but there is always a chance they will come a few weeks before that.
I was induced with my first at 41wks. Had her a day later. Induction was not a great experience for me personally and caused complications. I'm hoping for this little one to come on its own!
My first was born at 37 weeks. I had health complications that resulted in an emergency CS.
Doc says we will have a scheduled CS this time around at around 39 weeks. This secretly works out well for me since my current EDD is 5/24, and my cousin is getting married (and DH and I have a big role in the wedding) on 5/23. Can't wait to share the news with her - pretty sure she'll have a melt down.

Thank you for the few defending posts on here.. I was a little taken back with the reaction myself.. Not like I can control anything anyway. Lol.. I know a ton of women who delivered early and all have healthy beautiful babies.. No matter late or early I wish every a happy healthy 9 months..

My first was42 weeks and my second was41 weeks then induced. I fully expect at least 41 if not 42 weeks because I will not induce again unless I have to it was much worse.
My first was born naturally at 36w 5d and I had 6hrs of labor. I'm hoping to carry this one until at least 38wks- trying to keep stress levels lower this time.

My first was born at 39w1d. My water broke naturally at 39w exactly. I had her the following day. My second daughter was born at 40w2d via scheduled repeat c-section . Was hoping for a VBAC but it didn't work out. My due date this time is on a Saturday so I'll probably schedule the c-section for the day before. I'll see what my doctor thinks as I progress.
I had my first child at 35 weeks due to pre eclampsia. He was due March 27th and came on February 21st. Very scary for both me and baby. Thank God he was healthy and came out at 6lbs 7oz and perfect! I also had went into early labor having contractions 1 minute apart at 28 weeks and they lasted for 3 days before they could stop them. It's a scary thing to go through and I would never wish to have my baby that early.
