Additional Mod Nominations

It appears there is some interest in adding an extra mod or two to the board so that more time periods and threads can be covered effectively. If you would like to nominate someone for the postion, please post it here and a poll will be created accordingly.

I'd be happy to help, like I said in my pp I don't work right now and I'm on here all day as is. I'm not super popular so I don't know who would vote for me but I'd really like to help so if it's needed I'm more than willing. I'd really like to do it in fact as it would give me something to do and take my mind off of all my worrying

Before I nominate or offer my help I want to ask our mods do you want this? You can totally pm me your answer but until I hear from you guys that you want help I am going to just appreciate the mods we have.

I agree that I have no complaints about our mods, I assumed it was agreed that we were adding one or two more when I saw this thread, I'm offering my help and would love to be involved in that way. I don't want to come off as though I think our mods aren't good enough, on the contrary I'm interested in joining up with them to help take some of the load off

Honestly would also like input from mods re: whether they need help, and an option on poll for no new mods.

@mandjs and I both mod other boards so even de-modding us all together doesn't mean we couldn't still help out if there were 2 new mods and they wanted some help.

I think it's silly that a BMB have more than 2 mods, considering even TTGP only has 2, but it's not my board and it's whatever YOU guys want.

As I see it, the options are keep myself and @MandJS‌ as mods (and I can admit we were voted as mods really early on, so lots of you might not have had a say), remove me as mod and keep mandjs, remove her and keep me, remove us both and get new mods.

The reason that this poll was created (with mod blessing) involves recent trolling or the board that has been hard to control with various mods being on vacation.

We seem to be a heavily hit board, and if this is our new status quo, then we need more mods. Currently, the modding burden here is huge, and can't be covered by one person if another mod is on vacation.

I don't think we should get rid of anybody. I don't think that's what anyone was saying. I thought we were just adding one or two in addition to the ones we have? I feel a little like I'm in highschool and this will turn into a popularity contest and I doubt I'm the only one who feels that way. Like I said before I'd love to help if needed

Actually at the time I offered I didn't see anyone else do so but I just realized I can't anyway cause I'm only on mobile and my computer sucks, so don't add me to the choices. I can't think of anyone to nominate and I don't think there's anything wrong with me saying that I feel like I did in HS like I wouldn't be popular enough to be chosen. I don't recall saying a word about the mods we have so please don't put words in my mouth. Many others have said similar things in the labor buddies thread.

People were asking for mod opinions, that's my official mod opinion- a BMB doesn't need more than 2 mods. And because that's my opinion I expanded on it to say that, in my opinion, this BMB should either keep us both, keep one or the other of us and get 1 new mod to replace them, or get rid of us both and get 2 new mods.

My feels won't be hurt if I get outed.

@MauiBliss‌, yes, mods ask for assistance on the mod board if they are going to be away or if they want more opinions on an issue. They'll also ask for opinions on reported threads.

I don't think we need another mod or two; unless the 2 mods think they need some help. I know MandJS was MIA for a week or so with vacay, so maybe for things like that?

@toastercat it really isn't a big deal. I feel ridiculous even commenting on this again, I said I felt like I did in HS nervous that I'm not popular enough to win, and I've already asked not to be in the running anyway because of my computer situation so it's really a non issue at this point. I had a great time in my all girls catholic highschool, I ran for treasurer and I was nervous running then because I was afraid I wasn't popular enough, hence the comparison. It was meant in a light hearted way, not sure why it matters.

I made a report last week and the mod for that board wasn't online for several hours so I have no idea if the report was handled or not, just as an example.

All mods can see reported posts. We try not to mod things on other peoples boards (unless it's, say, a spammer that's hit 15 different boards, one mod will clean them all up, or if something is really vile and needs to be dealt with immediately but the board mod isn't around) but if something is left for a while and the board mod hasn't responded whoever sees it will tag the mod in the reported thread.

All reported threads get a comment as to what the resolution will be and, unless it's been fixed, you get a notification that someone commented on your thread but if you try to follow the notice you'll get an error.

This is what I was looking for. I wasn't trying to start shit. I just wanted to hear from my mods, who I personally really like, if they want help or need it. I wasn't here to vote the first time and don't care at all because they do a great job. If modding this board plus another is to much then I don't know what to say because I like our mods and I don't want to vote them off the island. I also think that while we have some trolling now in the long run it will go away and the board will slow down.

For everyone scratching their heads on what the fuck is going on just read the Yes or No thread (the whole thing). I don't have a problem with the current mods. We just happened to have the perfect storm of bullshit while they were a little out of pocket.

I think we keep our current mods and that there is no need for additional mods. Being a mod is a thankless, time consuming, volunteer position. So thank you @Mandjs & @Chaysefaith for doing it!

No, it's not. They've all moved on and we're the only one still droning on and on about it.

I don't think this is about J15 anymore...I don't feel anyone is droning on and on about it. What is being beaten to death is the whole mod thing - but we have to hash that out because we can't ignore the concerns of some of the board members. Almost everyone still talking about what came out of that incident admits that the actual incident has nothing to do with the continued conversation.

I'd say we've moved on as well and are focusing on something bigger that *happened* to come from that incident.
