Calling all nov ivf ladies

Re: Calling all nov ivf ladies

  • @ssoennin I think it is normal to be anxious your first IVF cycle, hopefully it will also be your last.  I did lots of research and tried to stay really organized with lists of what needs to be done, which really relieved some of my anxiety.  I also recommend Circle and Bloom guided meditation if you are looking for a way to relieve some anxiety.  I like that they have sessions tailored to where you are in your IVF cycle.  They even have precycle sessions, so you could start today if you wanted to.

  • @Twinkle0612, thank you so much for the suggestions! Staying organized will definitely help me, I think. I have an IVF file in my email and a set of folders from my doc. And I'm trying to find ways to talk to husband about the stress, too. He's having job troubles (layoffs so he's job hunting), so I don't want to add too much to his stress but definitely need the support! I downloaded some relaxation stuff this evening and almost fell asleep doing one. I could get used to this forced relaxation thing. ;)
  • Hi ladies! I'd love to join this group. I just did my first IVF cycle this month, which was a BFN. My RE is switching up my protocol slightly. He thinks I may have been over-suppressed by the birth control pills I was on last time, so we are doing an "Estrogen Priming Protocol". Sounds like I'll be stimming in late October, and doing the ER/ET in early November.

@marianass Wishing you lots of luck this cycle. I saw you are also switching to the estrogen priming protocol. I hope this helps us produce lots of eggs! I'm also more seriously embracing some non-Western medicine (acupuncture, supplements, etc).

TTC since January 2013 (with 9-months off due to lap surgery & lingering Lupron)
    IUI #1 with Letrozole 5mg - BFN (June 2014)
IUI #2 with Letrozole 7.5mg- BFN (July 2014)

    IVF #1 (Sept 2014) - Antagonist Protocol - 7 eggs retrieved, 5 mature, 2 fertilized normally.
One embryo transferred on Day 3, one embryo allowed to develop further (but arrested). BFN.

IVF #2 with ICSI (Dec 2014) - New clinic.
Similar protocol, but tweaked -- estrogen priming instead of BCPs, higher dosage of Follistim, etc

  • Hi Ladies - I'd like to join this group. I was part of the Septmber Sweet Peas, but unfortunately I had a chemical pregnancy. With some minor adjustments to my protocol, the plan is to start stimming at the end of October, with ER in early November. I will be freezing all of my embryos and doing PGS testing. I hope to have my ET in December.  Good luck everyone!  :)

  • I had my follow-up with Dr. KK and it looks like we might cycle NOW with our donor and then do a freeze-all. I have a lot to work on before I'm ready for a transfer, and Dr. KK strongly recommends a FET over a fresh transfer for us. We have a donor we really like who is ready to go, so as long as my RE agrees, we're going to get that going as soon as possible. EEEKS!!!! I am so thankful that it is not my body, and pray that I can stay distracted and sane through this. I am genuinely traumatized from my three own egg cycles (particularly the time between ER and blastocyst). I hope this time is different, because I can't watch them all die again.

  • Hi everyone quick question, I just got my Lupron in the mail yesterday and the actual medican in the little glass vail is not that much? Is it more then it looks? Or should I had received more then one?
  • Hello, ladies! I called to schedule my IVF work-up this morning and was in shock when the nurse said I could start IVF next month! I was thinking we wouldn't be able to start until December. I'm going for bloodwork and ultrasound on Monday, as well as signing all of the consents. Next Tuesday I have the sono/hysterogram (spelling?) then IVF can begin as soon as aunt flo shows up next month! I have never been so excited to start my period or get poked!! I can't wait to begin this crazy journey!!!

  • @cac111789‌ - did it come in a box labeled "2 wk lupron kit"? It will last you at least 2 wks- The doses are small. I was on the highest dose I've seen on the boards for 6 wks before starting stims (20 units), and I got about 3 wks from each vial. I just reordered as I needed more- one day shipping thru freedom, so I was never without. GL!

  • @cac111789 If it is a 2 week kit, it has enough in it for 2 weeks on a 20 unit does. My dosage was 10 units and then dropped down to 5 units, so for me there is 4+ weeks of lupron in there. The doses for lupron are really tiny that's why it doesn't seem like there is much in the vial.

@cac111789 I think your heart is in the right place, but this looks really spammy when you have less than 10 replies and the only threads you have started is to post this petition on multiple boards.  Spamming is against the TOU you agreed to when signing up for the bump and can get you banned.

Look I'm not saying that it isn't a worthy cause, I warning you that what you did was against the TOU.  In fact the two other threads you started were edited by mods for being spam.  Spamming can get you banned from the site.

I know what it is like not to have infertility insurance coverage.  My insurance does not cover any infertility testing, diagnosis, or treatment and I have paid OOP for 4 IUIs, 3 IVFs, 1 FET, and are getting ready to pay for our 4th OOP fresh IVF.

If you want to spread awareness, put a link in your siggy.  You can't post on multiple boards asking for people to go sign the petition, it's considered soliciting and will be flagged as spam.

  • @NariaDreaming yay for ordering meds! I love getting my med order, it's like a screwed up version of Christmas. :) My nurse called in my med order today, and holy cow it was a lot of meds. We're really throwing everything at it this cycle.
I'm a little pissed at my mail carrier right now, to be honest. I had a few meds donated (THANK YOU BUMPIES!) and my menopur was held over the weekend at the post office.

Granted, it didn't get above 60 degrees all weekend, and the postmaster confirmed they keep the office at 65 degrees... but I'm still freaking out a little bit. DH and I both agree we're comfortable with the meds, but I know I'm going to be stressing.

And my doctor doesn't know that I have donated meds... so I don't know what I"m going to say when they ask why I haven't filled my menopur, follistim, and ganirelix.

@Twinkie0612 I'm kind of confused (and plan on asking my RE) but I noticed there's no estrogen support in my med order.... should I be worried?

I'm on an EPP this cycle so I am on a ton of estrogen, but with my previous cycles the only estrogen support I had was in the supps I took after transfer.  They were 50mg Prog/1mgE2V, so not very much.  My clinic does't normally test progesterone or estrogen after transfer either, but mine will be tested this cycle since Dr. KK requires it.

Every clinic is different, but it doesn't hurt to ask about estrogen support, if anything just for your own peace of mind.

I have a little donated meds this year and my clinic knows about them.  They will just call in my full order and I wil let the pharmacy know what to fill.  I am actually considering filling extra follistim, because I am a little worried about some of my donated follistim.  It was shipped overnight, but the ice pack it was shipped with was completely thawed and no longer cold when I received it.  I just am not sure that saving a few hundred dollars is worth the worry at this point.

Your menopur should be fine though.  Since it has to be reconsitituted, I am pretty sure it is much more stable and less sensitive to temp changes.

  • I'm in the same boat! I ordered my meds this am because I started my period. My cycles run from 28 to 42 days long and today is 29... I'm so happy because it means I get to go home to see my family for Thanksgiving. I've never been so happy to breakout, feel grouchy, and have cramps. Everything arrives on Friday, so I'm going to work from home to make sure I don't miss them and have them go to the post office like some of you have experienced!!! I learn from all of you daily.

  • I went for my FET medication teaching yesterday and I got the fun of an SHG surprise! My doc just wanted to check things out. Of course I had no notice so no opportunity to take any ibuprophen and it was definitely not pleasant. The good news is he saw no issues and my scheduled transfer is nov. 7th. I started my lupron yesterday. My doc has now asked me if I want to do assisted hatching prior to transferring. I've never considered it before because I'm fairly young (32) and my fresh embryo that resulted in a bfn was already hatching. Doc says that freezing can harden the shell. Does anyone have any info or opinions on whether to do ah?

  • hi all, hope I can join you! I am preparing to start my first IVF cycle after 2 MMC. we think we will do egg retrieval in Nov but not transfer till Jan, since they are closed during the holidays. I was very upset when I heard that because at this point every extra day waiting drives me crazy and of course it has to fall while they are closed! But I am just trying to stay hopeful that it will work!

oh and @new2ivf my doctor only does frozen as well
  • Hello Everyone. I would like to join the November board. I just had a failed IVF cycle in September. I am on BCP right now to start IVF#2 in November.
