Just found out today that our maternit21 tests came back normal (Most importantly) and...we're having a BOY!! Almost everyone (including my husband) thought girl. Surprised, but also excited!!

We only found out we're having a boy because of the MaterniT21 test. And, yes, the sole purpose of that test was to better understand the health of our baby. I just figured finding out the sex was like a fun reward for successfully making it through the 2 weeks of worried waiting. Anyway, we're incredibly excited. Before finding out, we just referred to him as our little alien.
I am 43 and this was very much an unplanned, surprise pregnancy. We have 3 boys ranging from 8 to 19 years old! We had the NT scan and genetic blood test and will have the results tomorrow or the next day. We decided to keep the gender if this baby a mystery and wait until birth! Never have done that before! So we will find out all the info about it's health and tell them "Shhhhhh!" when it comes to the gender results.
I am looking forward to just enjoying the pregnancy and connecting with the soul of this surprise baby.
Besides---- after 3 boys I am sure this one is a boy too so..... Lol!
I've also stopped saying "as long as they are healthy." Sometimes your baby isn't healthy, but you love them anyway. I hope and I pray for a healthy baby of course, but I have stopped saying "as long as they are healthy."
Yes. This. We found out that the fluid in the NT scan was in the higher range. Since we ruled out the big things with verifi, the doctor mentioned getting a special scan of the heart at 22 weeks because we are at a higher risk for a heart defect. We didn't tell our family. Whenever we tell them it's a girl, they say it doesn't matter as long as it is healthy.
I had the Harmony test done today so I will know in 14 business days! Woohoo!
I would be more concerned with the results of the genetic testing for abnormalities than I would be excited about finding out my baby's sex so early. I'm not judging you... But there are women having the Harmony test who are fretting about the results. It's not for fun.
I didn't get it "for fun". My doctor actually ordered it because of my age. I don't think there's anything wrong with being excited about being able to find out the sex as well.
DD named the baby "Julie" so I guess we're having a girl. Unless it's a boy then we have a lot of explaining to do in regards to his name when he's older.

But what if she isn't? Is that not ok?
