The following was an update posted by @chrain over on the M15 board. She gave me permission to cross post it over here. -------------------------------------------
Hi guys! I will update and run because I have to clean and eat and then do work but here's the story...
#1 the doc almost had to cancel because of all of the c-sections that were happening... I was super sad but she rushed back to her office and told her staff I was the patient she wanted to see during that window.
So we got there and here's what we learned.
This baby had Mosaic Turner's Syndrome. She was kicking herself that she didn't test the first baby... but at that point, we looked poised to have no problems again. So, this baby was a girl with Turners. Of miscarriages that have a genetic issue (something like 50%) 19% of those have Turners.
Right. Common. However, we lost the first baby around the same time. So she is testing both of us and our karyotypes for a translocation or other issue that could have caused this. If that is the case... we cannot go forward naturally and will have to use donor sperm or eggs (frankly... it would be a problem with him almost 100% because I have donated eggs in the past and that has resulted with two healthy babies... unlikely this would be undetected in those tests).
If that comes back clean, then we had a spontaneous miscarriage and a baby with turners and chances are we will be fine for the third try. We will get these results in 2 ish weeks.
She is also doing the usual recurrent miscarriage tests so next week, we will know if in addition to these issues, I have a thyroid or clotting issue that can easily be solved.
So that is where we are. I feel better that we have some answers... and am happy to move forward with more testing.
Love you guys... thank you for the support!
