I am happy to say we have made it to the 1 year mark with a wonderful, rewarding breastfeeding experience! I had 3 episodes of mastitis early on and faced many challenges keeping up on pumping at work, but we made it. My first goal was 9 months, then 12 months. I had hoped to continue BF at bedtime and for comfort at home in the coming months, but it appears that I am going to be sidelined for now. I was surprised (shocked?) to learn I am pregnant, just found out last week. Because of my history of multiple miscarriages, I am high risk and have to take meds as well. My RE wanted me to wean ASAP, as in within a week. Luckily, DS is doing great with it, taking bottle from me as we cuddle and rock. We have slowly introduced him to WCM over the past few weeks, mixing w/ BM for his daytime bottles. My freezer stash is almost out, so he'll be completely over to WCM within the next week or so.
I would like to thank everyone who has given me support and advice. I have learned so much on this board! You ladies are amazing! Best wishes to all those starting out on their journey and to those continuing on. If all goes well, hope to see you the next time.
