I thought I did good research prior to my first morning pump. Background- LO is almost 4 weeks. He is above birth weight and eats like a champ. I've EBF since birth minus a few FF supplements in the hospital for jaundice. I've pumped in the past but milk was used right away. I was super anti-BF before LO was born and still struggle with being committed so I've made small goals and getting to 4 weeks is quite an accomplishment for me. Next goal- 2 months

I return to work soon so I need to begin getting a freezer stash going. After research on this forum, kellymom.com, and the Le ale he website I fed LO his morning feed and then went to pump. Little one eats both sides so I do not think pumping and feeding is an option for me. So I fed LO both sides like normal and then pumped.... Only to get drops. Super discouraged. Is there Another way? Do I try again tomorrow and see if I get more? Should I have waited an hour before I pumped? I I try feeding/pumping simultaneously what do I do when LO is still hungry for the other side? Should I try pumping again at another time today?
Any advice/ideas would be super appreciated!
Re: EBF/pumping first timer- help!
I try to pump twice a day - once about an hour, hour and a half after her morning feeding (1.5 hours only if she's down for a nap so that I have some time to build my supply again for when she wakes up hungry). Then I pump again in the evenings when we give her a bottle of BM before her bedtime. This is so she gets used to bottle feeding if I'm not around too. By doing this I can save an extra bag of milk each day to start building up my stash before going back to work as well.
Hope this helps!
