When are you having your baby shower?

I am due Feb 4th and I am having my "big" shower on Nov 22nd and a smaller "out of town" shower on January 3rd.

I am actually having my shower next weekend (October 12). Earlier than I would prefer because I will only be 20 weeks. However- my shower will be at home in California (I live in Colorado) and my dr is not comfortable with me traveling past 24-26 weeks (Preggo with twins). Since my kiddos have a 2 week fall break starting next weekend- we are traveling home and the timing worked for my friends/family.

I'm due Feb 7th- my work shower will be on Nov 18th and my private shower (family/friends) will be Dec 13th. A lot of people at my work take time off over the holidays, so I wanted the work shower before Thanksgiving.

@foxslaw - Neither of the people who offered to host my parties were thinking about it and I started to get really nervous that they hadn't thought about the timing. Also, I didn't want my shower in January because I really didn't want to be huge and uncomfortable at the shower. I indirectly got them going by making an offhand comment about how scheduling my tour of the labor ward and picking birthing classes really hard because of all the holidays. That was enough to plant the seed and they immediately were like "oh yeah! We should really pick a date for your shower!" It just wasn't on their radar until my little hint. Call me a shameless hussy, but I felt much better after we had the dates set.

I'm due Feb 17 and shower will be Nov 1st. I was really worried it was too early to have it (24 weeks) but the hostesses vetoed late November and all December due to holidays and January makes me nervous. My sister was put on bed rest 2 months before her due date since she started dilating very early so I don't want something like that to happen & me not have all my supplies ready for baby!

My mom decided Saturday after thanksgiving because I'll be in the MA/my homeland for the holidays. MIL will have one first week of January in CO.

Mine is in two weeks but we are military and live on the other side of the country and I am not comfortable flying by myself too late into the pregnancy. Really looking forward to the trip home!

I am due Feb 9th and my family shower will be Dec 7th. I was worried about the holidays and like others have said, I was also worried about having it in January. I wanted to be sure we would have enough time to finish getting the things we did not get at the shower so that we can be fully prepared (or well as prepared as first time parents can be :-) )

November 15. Is when mine is. People will be in and out of town from thanksgiving Christmas and new years. Plus gives you time to go threw everything and see what you don't have to buy come January before baby comes!

I'm due Feb 24t, and we've decided to have the shower first week in Janurary.. Over the crazy holiday season, and still plenty of time before baby comes! That way Janurary will fly by as we put everything together in the nursery and set everything up. Good luck to you!

Supposedly my shower will be sometime in january.
Mil says sge will throw it and ny stepmother says no she will throw it.

neither will talk to each other about it or even make plans.

since neither really seem interested i dont even want a shower at this point. id rather buy everything myself and know i have it.

Due 2/23 and my friends tentatively are planning one for Jan 17. Not sure about a family one yet, but probably early Jan unless they think it's better to do it mid Dec. I just didn't want it to run into Christmas and have people feel like they will run out of money with the holidays plus a baby shower!

Looks like the afternoon of the Dec. 6th near my house, instead of near either set of parents who live hours away (hubby and I are usually the ones travelling to them for holidays, so they said they'd come to us for this since it'd be between holidays). My family and friends are all over the northern half of the East coast, so it gives them the time to travel here and back in the same weekend, if they can swing it. It'll likely be a small party because not everyone will be able to travel, but that's fine with me.

The week between Christmas and New Years because our family is super swamped with the holidays and birthdays between now and Christmas. And I think January is cutting it a little too close for comfort, so the last week of December was really our only option.

I didn't want to pick a different date and make her travel twice in a short period of time. Plus this way if there are things we didn't get but still want, we'll just put them on our list for Santa

I was informed by my aunts this weekend that they are planning another shower, for my mom's side of the family and the date they have picked is Jan. 17th. I am due Feb 9th, so to me that seems quite close BUT apparently that's the only time for them that works, and it will be the 2nd shower so that is ok; I am just worried I will be super uncomfortable.

October 26th is mine. I'm due 2/6. It's before all of the holiday hustle and bustle and this way I'll be able to enjoy it without any worries of the holidays, who can make it and can't because of it.

December 6th for the one in the town I currently live in. I dont know when the girls at work are throwing on, & then my friends from the town I just moved from 2.5 hours from where I currently live are throwing one too. That one is happening so my 89yr old grandmother can come. This will probably be her last great grandchild she gets to see.
