Adult Halloween Costumes?

H and I are going to a Halloween party while SMIL babysits DD. I haven't gone out for Halloween in years! Last time I went out I was a slim, single college girl who made my own cute costumes (I was a dust bunny, and I must say it was adorable). I have NO idea what to dress up as. I want to look nice/cute but definitely not a sexy/slutty costume. I also prefer clever/somewhat funny costumes. 

One year I went as a lady in the bathtub (cut a hole in the bottom of a laundry basket, glued fluff/stuffing to look like bubbles, glued candles around the edge, made a shower head out of a cardboard gift wrap tube wrapped in tin foil with blue beads strung with fishing line to look like water droplets, then I wore a light pink/skin coloured shirt, shower cap, and put a green face mask on my face and carried an In Touch magazine around).

But, like I said, drawing a blank this year! I'm out of practice, I used to know my costume in September and work on it through October. What are you all dressing up as? Or funny costumes you've done/seen in the past? Bonus points if they're easy to make or put together

    All of my recent costumes have been family themed outfits. This year I will be captain hook from Jake and the neverland pirates. DH is peter pan, DS is Jake and DD is Izzy. I had other costumes for them but DS really wanted this.

    My go-to lame n simple is to pin rolls of smarties candies to my pants... "Smarty-pants".

    I've also picked a smorgsaborg of pieces and added a "Miss Indecisive" sash.

    We don't do halloween most of the time, so I'm not very good at it!

    My fav was when I went as Mary Poppins and DH was Bert the chimney sweep. It was easy to put together with stuff we owned or could easily pick up at Walmart and everyone loved it!

    I miss my costume from last year: the infamous jack-o-lantern cut out on the bump. Maybe I just miss being pregnant. Le sigh.

    This year, I might be a black cat since DS will most likely be a tiger.

    An old lady is my very favorite costume.

    It's so dang comfortable and if you do your makeup right you'll get laughs all night.

    Your H can join you as an old man.

    Wear a moo-moo from Wal Mart
    Knee high hosiery
    Satin pink house shoes
    Put big balloons in a tank top under the moo moo, or in a bra I guess
    A small pillow in the butt of your panties (bonus: makes dancing a lot more fun)
    Reading glasses
    Put your hair in curlers
    Take eyeliner to all the creases in your face when you make expressions
    Tacky bright lipstick
    Blue eyeshadow and terrible eyeliner
    Lots of powder

    You're done.

    H wears a robe, paints his chest hair white and wears house shoes and glasses. Pretty much done.

    It's a lot of fun.

    @bensmommy518‌ This is what we were thinking for this year too. DH has the night off and wants to do family costumes. He would be Captain Hook, I would be Red Jessica, DS Jake and DD Izzy. We would make the double stroller into Bucky the pirate ship.

    I have no other ideas.

    I love the idea of the old lady. H will never do a couple/family costume with me, unfortunately! (Maybe when DD is old enough to ask him he will)

    I've done vampire for me and h was a priest wearing garlic. I've also done beer girl and made h leiderhosen. We've done Alice in wonderland in a big group, I was white rabbit h was mad hatter. Zombies are easy and can be fun, we also did morticia and gomez adams which I loved and was pretty fun to make. Some I've seen are tropical depression with a Hawaiian shirt and a bottle around your neck labeled Prozac. Tourist, where you give yourself a tacky outfit and a camera and sunburn. Let us know what you come up with

    Okay if anyone cares I've decided on Mary Poppins! Look up Lauren Conrad's costume if you're curious about the look I'm going for :) Anyone else decided on a costume? I love Halloween, so excited
