Re: FFFC

  • Doesn't FFFC stand for Flame-Free Friday Confessions? ;)
Awwww. You haven't been here long, have you? Such a shiny new naive thing you are. As those here in the south say "bless your heart."
Heh, I've been here since August '13, TYVM :) But I suppose the joke/sarcasm/attempt-to-lighten-things-up was missed..."bless your heart" ;)

  • @legallyginger I was wondering about that situation too. Or what about a woman who aborts a baby because it's the "wrong" sex? I'm not ok with that either.

  • I'd be ok with prostitutes getting abortions as birth control. If that's actually what they were doing, they have some serious issues and have no business raising kids.

@FFwifey‌ I actually worry about LO's penis size, too. My mom made some comment to me once about how a doctor told her my brother's penis was pretty small when he was little, so now I'm paranoid LO has a small one, too. (And thanks, Mom, for telling me that my brother might have a small penis.). I actually have no idea if LO's is small or not... I don't have anything to compare it to and am too embarrassed to ask the pedi. But I understand the worry.

  • @angelsnight‌ I hate that question too. It always makes me feel like poo. I just want to be like, raising my kid is work. No I don't get paid, but it is work. Ug.
    Sahm/d article! https://www.babble.com/relationships/being-a-stay-at-home-parent-is-a-luxury-for-your-spouse/
I loved this article, and it's so true.  MH barely has to do anything outside of work because, well I'm home and I feel weird if I don't take out the trash while I'm home all day.  I won't cut the grass though, I draw the line there but right now he's conned some guys at work into cutting it (landscape company) so they swing by once a week when they're in the area, it literally takes them less than 5 minutes.

I shared that article to MH's FB page but he never commented on it.  He wasn't as on board with me staying home, he seems to think I sit around all day.  I'll admit, I do relax a lot during the day, but I am not real motivated in the morning, so most nights I am still bumping around the house till 9, 10, 11.  But my weekends are soooo much more relaxing now because I can actually relax rather than run errands, clean, do laundry, etc.

I am 100% pro choice as in IDGAF what anyone chooses to do with their own body. I love the prostitute comment btw. Does anyone ever think of what the kid's life might be like if they had a single prostitute mother with who knows how many illegitimate siblings? People have abortions. Some have more than one, then other people sit back and bitch about it, as if in some way it affects their life. When it doesn't, cause you know what? Are you going to raise that kid? Um no, so STFU while this chick goes and makes a huge decision for HER OWN body/life/self/well being, which is NEVER taken "lightly", come on....really?
I'm all for letting people do what people want to do as long as it doesn't hurt other people, but it's not just affecting HER body, it's not a mole they're removing, it's a CHILD.  Not to mention the fact that a woman doesn't conceive a child by herself, and if the father actually did want the child, he has no say if the woman wants to abort.

Yes, I get it, it's not black and white.  I agree a prostitute with several children would make a terrible mother, but that's the solution, to just kill all the children she gets knocked up with?  Replace the word abortion with "killing an infant".  If a woman makes a shitty mother do you support her killing her infant?  After all, it doesn't affect you right?

No matter how you look at it, how you rationalize it, abortion is killing a living thing that would one day be a cute, bouncy baby that we all have and love, and I am sure not many of us looked at our 8 week ultrasounds and felt no love for that "blob of cells", so why is this any different?  A blob of cells has value because it is wanted, but no value when it is not?

I am not saying ban abortion 100%, it's a gray issue and there are legitimate cases, but people saying, "I'm sure nobody takes it lightly and uses it as BC" is bullshit.  You know very well there are plenty of people out there who couldn't care less if they have one, two, three or more abortions and do not bat an eyelash.  Pull your head out of the sand, if there are people that can look their kids in the eye and beat them to death, then you can be damn sure there are people that take abortion lightly.

I'll admit, for all the people that have said they are pro-choice but are now questioning what they are because they think there should be some guidelines, I am questioning how pro-life I am since I am agreeing with many of them.  But to say I don't give a shit how many people get knocked up multiple times and abort multiple times, I have to seriously question your respect for human life.

--------------------------- messed up quoting I stepped away yesterday night because I was getting pissed off, but I am back and as pissed off as yesterday. You are not seriously equalling an abortion to killing an infant, right? Just because you loved that blob of cells at 8 weeks doesn't mean that everyone has to. And unless the person having the abortion is paying with your credit card, I really don't see how it affects you. That blob of cells is unable to exist without the mother, where as killing an infant is just murder. I come from a place where women die while having abortions because they are illegal and get some underground doctor to do it and never walk out of there alive. Women have the right to a save abortion, even if it's not something I would choose for myself. People keep saying how an abortion is a life changing thing. What about having a child??? Some women are not ready for it, and that is ok. If they chose to go through with it, they will have to live with that decision for the rest of their lives, I don't see how my feelings or morals have ANYTHING to do with their decision. ETA: and ok, if there are people taking abortion lightly, which I'm sure they are, how does that affect you? Are they pushing you to get one? I honestly do not get it. You wouldn't do it, you know where you stand, so hold on to those believes and live your life according to them, but respect those who don't. Unless it affects you, which you still have not explained how it does, and "I don't agree with it" is not a reason.
So how exactly can an infant survive without its mother?  Without me, my LO just lays there.  Cannot crawl, cannot get her own food, cannot change her own diaper.  I fail to see why a fetus doesn't deserve to live because they cannot exist without their mother.  Plenty of living human beings cannot exist without the care of someone else....an infant, the elderly, those with special needs, etc.

I don't know how to say it any more clear.  Abortion affects me because it is killing a living being, just the same way as the murder of John Doe that you've never met affects you because it is taking the life of another human being.

  • I've been refraining from commenting on the abortion topic, mostly because this is 'FFFC', not 'Hot Topic', but...
    ---
A child is born. There is a child. You can see that child.

A woman is pregnant. You cannot see in her uterus to know this. You would only know if she tells you. It's none of your business if she has an abortion.
    ---
Women can have miscarriages due to something they've done (excessive drinking, smoking, drugs), should this be considered murder too, @angelsnight‌ ?
    ---
I personally would never have an abortion because its not the right decision for ME.
    ---
I know plenty of women who have had abortions. I don't agree with their reasons why (With the exception of one lady who ended her pregnancy because it was a threat to her own life), but ultimately, it probably was the best option for most of them.
    ---
I also don't agree that the ONLY person to be responsible in the decision to have an abortion is the woman. Yes, it's her body, but a man got her pregnant, so he should have an opinion as well.
    ---
Similar to the above, when a woman chooses not to abort, it doesn't only affect/concern her. The man should also have input. He can choose to give up all parental rights or to take part in the child's life. (But that's another topic for discussion)
    ---
I think that's all I had to say.
    Have a nice day everyone.
