This is my second to last weekend left alone with the boys. Next weekend we'll make our welcome home signs!
There's an Oktoberfest carnival going on today and tomorrow but I don't want to take the boys by myself. I texted some friends about going and they never responded. We might just go to the Y so I can work out and Target for a few things.
So we got the house I applied for this week and are moving 11/1. I'm already in moving mode but DH doesn't want me to pack any boxes before he comes home. I understand a little so I'm going to try not to pack much in the house. I think the garage is fair game though :P I've been going through each room in the house to get rid of junk. I took 3 huge garbage bags of stuff to Goodwill yesterday!
So I'll probably be doing a lot of that this weekend when I get time.
Guys.. I drank a lot last night... Like hugging the toilet this morning, a lot. I woke up at 530 and couldn't fall back asleep. Figures the one day I can sleep in, I can't sleep.
I was supposed to get up at 5, but didn't crawl out of bed until 7:30. MIL kept B last night so I could get some work done. Doing 20 hrs OT a week is starting to get old. I'm tired.
We are on our way to the airport and Wesley is a clingy mess since he woke up at 4 am. Im hoping he sleeps on the flight and does ok. is it to early to drink I may need one!
I just had a debate w my SIL about this very article yesterday. I do think stores should offer styles with more coverage for people that want them. However, I have no issues with the styles currently offered. First, a 1 inch inseam on a 2 year old is probably about equivalent to a 3-4 inch inseam on me. Which is typically what I wear on the rare occasions I wear shorts, and I don't think it's a "sexy" look, and certainly not provocative. Second, stores carry what is popular, so the anger at Target seems misguided to me. Though I was pleased to see a Target is working to provide a wider range of options, because working to make customers happy is nice. Third, I just think it's silly to get all up in arms about that stuff. My kid wears tight leggings, short shorts, and femininely cut shirts. She doesn't look too mature. She looks two. It's not like dressing your kid in a negligee or something. Sexualizing jean shorts and t shirts, or making into a sexism issue, is odd to me.
@DuckOBX614 Last night when I was taking B to MIL's we drove last "fire prevention night" and B started screaming FIRETRUCK! So we stopped. She was pretty excited.
C got up at 5 today. Wtf. Later I'm ditching MH w the girls and going outlet mall shopping. Getting some Christmas gifts and winter clothes. Tomorrow I'm having lunch with some girlfriends. Which means for 2 days in a row MH will be alone with both girls for multiple hours. OMG, alert the media. He thinks he's FOTY over here. I'll just let him, it makes him happy.
I don't like A's diaper hanging out the bottom of her shorts any more than I like a grown woman's ass cheeks hanging out. It just looks silly. So yes, I think 1' inseams are too short. I did 99% of her summer shopping at OUAC, so I was able to find some good deals on more expensive brands. Her favorite pair of shorts was a Mossimo (I think) pair and they covered her diaper, even when it was soaked. I haven't measured the inseam though, so I don't know how long they actually are.
As far as the "feminine cut" of shirts, I totally agree with the article. My kid isn't curved like a grown woman. She has her baby fat belly, as she should. She doesn't have boobs. There's no reason for a curvy shirt for my toddler. It doesn't fit her right. It's saggy on top and too tight in the belly. And there is absolutely ZERO reason for my toddler to have low cut skinny jeans. What the hell. (those weren't mentioned, but I've seen them. Along with low cut bikini briefs for potty trained small kids.)
I will say, I see more options that I am comfortable buying now than back a few years ago. It seemed like a few years ago everything had "juicy" or "cute" or something scrawled across the butt of toddler clothes. And not like ruffles or something. We're talking miniskirts with bejeweled writing across the back.

My kid is...opinionated this morning. She has decided she will do everything herself thankyouverymuch. And all of her noise making toys must be turned on at the same time and she cries if I turn them off. I got 5 hours of sleep last night. This shit ain't gonna fly. LOL
My parents get in Monday night so I need to clean my house today. I'm hoping I find my motivation at the bottom of my coffee cup. Getting close though, and no sign of it.

For those who do shop at target, there's a printable coupon for $5 off $30 and then a 25% off cartwheel you can stack for kids clothes. And their leggings and t's are on sale
Guys my babe just slept in her big girl bed for the first time for her nap! She gave no fuss and went right to sleep! Being apart for the night at have been the restart button we needed!!
@NeedUtonite that's a great point. At what age do you say "yeah DD, you got the tiny shorts and teeny bikinis last year, but now you have to cover up. Sorry!" It's just not something I want to deal with. LOL

I'm totes taking my kid to a bar tonight. Ha! My friend graduated from an online school and rented out one of the rooms in a local bar before it opens to have a graduation/diploma viewing party. Underages have to be out by 8:30. But still. I'm taking my toddler to a bar.
In other news, my Gerber happy birthday email called A a preschooler! PRESCHOOLER!! What the hell??

Ds1 is catching a cold. So he is extra snuggly. So far tonight he has asked me to marry him and told me that he wishes he could be just like me. I snuggle back.
Hey I just met you, and you're my baby. This is your family, we're kind of crazy...
Welp. I celebrated to early with the nap. Bedtime took and hour and a half and she is asleep on the floor after tossing and turning in her bed for 30 min. No fussing though
On the way home from the hotel this morning we stopped at the outlets and I got 2 pairs of super cute ankle boots, 3 pairs of pants and 2 sweaters. Then tonight we went to kohls and did more shopping. Shopping is a great hangover cure.
@chricast remember a few weeks ago when B went thru her demon at bedtime stage and I wanted to shoot myself? It lasted about 2 weeks. Maybe it's a phase for Emma too and it'll end soon?
I was irritated a few times with how short Norah's shorts were a few times this summer when her diaper would show out the bottom. Weird. I mostly had her in dresses but the threw ds's old shorts over them outside since ahe was still butt scooting at that point- all of her girl stuff would rip immediately (including jean shorts) but the shorts that Wes had already worn 1-2 summers held up. That annoyed me more. My little girl was clearly harder on things than little boys- why did the denim quality at 18 months vary so much between boys and girls?! We are talking same brands- Cherokee (target) and Carters too as I clearly have my brand loyalty
In other news, we went to the zoo today and both kids loved it even with layers, stocking hats/hoods and mittens!
Would it be wrong of me to tell my drunk husband to take a cab home? I don't particularly want to take my sleeping kid out of her bed to the car seat, drive the 4 miles to the bar, then come home and try to put her back in bed. Sigh.

@mbm1983, Whoa....You made the right call. We took Henry to the ER today because he'd fallen and bitten his tongue HARD -- I wasn't around when it happened (it happened in daycare), but today it was swollen, and a relatively huge flap of skin is hanging off...I thought it would probably heal on its own, but DH was really worried. So we went to the ER. Always better safe than sorry. The ER doctor said it was on the cusp of requiring stitches, but -- did you guys know this??? -- to stitch a tongue the doctor has to stick a safety pin THROUGH his tongue to elongate it after sedating him......No...no, thank you.
@enigmaticdrscully he texted right as I saw your reply here. LOL I just went and got him. Luckily 1) A didn't so much as flinch the whole trip and 2) he isn't so much drunk as a bit buzzed. So that's handy. And now I can go to bed at 10:45 on a Saturday night like the old fart I feel like.

Who was it that had the LO dealing with monstrous constipation? What helped? Bless her heart, A has been crying actual tears and begging for "no no no more poopies momma! All done poopies!" the last couple days. She is on probiotics every day and her diet hasn't changed. Her 2 year molars are right up under the gums but she usually gets the opposite issue when she cuts teeth. I'm not sure what to do with her. Getting some prunes or prune juice tomorrow.

@cnana we had epic constipation. I gave her a pedi enema the days it got really bad but the Dr. Said she prefers a suppository. We starred giving her miralax daily and increased her apple or pear juice intake. She is more regular but has to rake the miralax 3x a week to keep her going for now since the constipation stretched her colon.
@Ziegeficker I bit my tongue open as a kid it had to be stitched. They had to put me in a straightjacket and 2 people had to hold me down in the er.I was 2. I didn't have a straight pin though. There is nothing wrong with my tongue now.
@canana we do Miralax for Norah too. It's the only thing that works. She gets 1/2 cap daily. If we skip more than a day, she's miserable. We've been fighting this since she self weaned 10 months ago
We aren't truly celebrating for a few more weeks. We are going to IKEA to buy furniture and decorations for our house we are building. I am so excited. It will be our first no kids trip.

I'm tired. I'm so over my kids right now. At the end of my rope. For some reason my anxiety is skyrocketing right now with DH coming home and this move, and the fact that our stupid property management for the house we own in Charleston has to evict the 2nd tenant in a year for not paying rent. More financial worries. I'm not sleeping well at night.
@chricast I just got a new bra and a bunch of new panties since mine all look like granny panties on me and are huge. Had to make my underwear wardrobe a little prettier now that someone might be seeing it lol.
New clothes always feel nice. I wish I could buy a bunch but I need to wait still. I've only bought a couple things since I've lost weight and my long sleeve wardrobe is looking pretty bad and everything is too large. I don't know where the money is going to come from when I have to buy a lot more things.
Ladies. My child will not say "please." He knows how to say it. He hasn't said any real words in days. I ask him to repeat the words I say and he won't do it. I wouldn't give him his cup because he just grunts and whines whenever he wants something, so I got fed up and put him in bed crying. I know it's harsh, but he is completely regressing in his language. He walks around saying less than he did at 18 months. It's wearing me thin and I'm about ready to have an anxiety attack.
