What to do if you know you will lose your job right before your due date?

I have not told anyone at work, and the reason is because I will be let go from my job in 6 months due to my job being relocated. I am starting to interview for new jobs internally (within the firm) for positions which have opened up due to people leaving, however the replacements haven't been approved yet. By the time they are, I am worried I might be showing. I just can't afford not to have a job and suffer without maternity pay. I don't know what to do- Help!

  • Yes that's true, but they can always just not make me the offer because they can see I'm pregnant, I can't prove to anyone that it was related to my pregnancy
  • In the even you can't get a position, can you get your doc to take you off early? If you go out on disability before you lose your job, you can still receive benefits.

Also, this will probably pay less, but you would qualify for unemployment and could get six months maternity leave before taking a new job.

  • I will only receive benefits up until the date I am let go. I know I can get unemployment but it's going to be way less than what it would have gotten on maternity leave.

I would check into that. I thought you couldn't be "let go" while on disability.
