Doppler

I tried to put this into an already existing thread, but I searched like 10 times and I kept getting doppler results on other boards, nothing on this board even though I know they exist, so please don't hurt me! 

11w1d here. Had a dr appointment on Tuesday and the nurse found the heartbeat with the doppler. My sonoline b came today so hubby and I played with it, but I could only find mine.  Since we heard it three days ago, I'm not super concerned, but still wondering - is the doctor's office one of higher quality? Is that a factor in why I may not be able to find it yet? I youtubed and found people who found it at this stage and earlier with the sonoline, so I know it's possible, but I guess LO is hiding. Womp womp.  I will play another day.

    On mine there are different modes. Of yours has that try the second setting. I can't ever find it on the first. I'm heading out but I'll see if I can find the YouTube link I shared on the previous post and post it.

    It took me days of trying, and watching utube videos a few times. He was there, just harder to find than I thought. The good news is once I found him, he has pretty much stayed in the same spot ever since. This isn't my first rodeo either, I thought I'd find him straight away.

    I was just at the midwives yesterday and when she was preparing to check baby's heartbeat she told me not to be worried if she couldn't find it since I was 11w2d and until at least 12 weeks they can't always find it consistently. I really wouldn't worry about it with the home one if trained medical people with medical grade machines can't guarantee anything yet.

    As pp have said, it can take a lot of practice (and patience) to find it, especially when the LO is so tiny! I would wait awhile and try again.

    @JMVA2014‌ I got mine (sonoline B) new on eBay. I'm not sure what the reviews on Amazon say but personally I've had a great experience and this is the 2nd pregnancy I've used it.

    At my 12week check up the mw couldn't find the heart beat on the Doppler but she could here the baby moving away from it. I'm sure your little baby is just hiding.

    I bought my Doppler new on eBay and with free shipping. There were quite a few companies that sold them, had different shipping cost and estimated arrival times. Some of the estimated arrival dates were over a month! So beware when ordering.

    I got a sonolin b from Amazon and found the hb each time. It helps me to first locate the "whooshing" sound of the uterus. You can hear your own hb echoed through it. Then move around very slightly until you pick up a noticeably faster beat.

    Also, aloe is great.  I hate the gel it comes with, all gooey and crap.  Aloe comes off really easy and whatever doesn't rubs in without residue.  I also think it works a little better but maybe that's just me.

    I have the Sonoline B as well. I'm a plus size gal, so I had to purchase the 2mhz wand to get through my pudge. I wasn't able to pick up the heartbeat with it until 14weeks so don't fret!

    Still getting that woosh woosh sound. Wahhh. I think I'm going to put it away until my NT scan on thurs!

    @OneLastRefrain‌ are you looking near your pubic bone at all? If you use the wand like a joystick and go straight down from your belly button down to your pubic bone and over maybe an inch in either direction and move the wand all around like a joystick you may be able to pick up the placenta.

    Thanks! I'm afraid he'll say "you're nuts, stop playing with this." Ha.  :)   I am going to put it away til then. I think.  Luckily my next appointment is in 5 days.
