  • Darn it I'm tryin to end today early because there is no positive spin to put on this ... GIL says I'm just lazy and I must have asked for bed rest (but yells if I do anything ) and also says I'm lazy because I rest until 10:30 - 11 am after being awake til 5 am and waking back up around 9:30. My MIL took me dress shopping so I'd be presentable at HER baby shower (because I dress like a slut appearently (I wear jeans and tees)) . Dear lord can I have my family back now?? Please ??

So do a lot of women poop or throw up during contractions?

Purp, I want to TP your mom.

My dogs keep barking and whining for no reason. Either some rando is hidden pretty well in my house, or labor is imminent. Or they just suck tonight. I'm hoping for the last option.
That's a creepy thought :-SS about some rando hidden in your house!

They usually only bark at people they don't know! I did a sweep with the lab (he thinks he's a vicious guard dog) and the house is empty.

They must just feel like driving me nuts tonight.
  • This isn't directed at anyone in particular by any means...but am I the only one that finds it weird that so many doctors are telling women they don't think they will make it to their due date? That happened to my friend, too, and she ended up getting induced a week after her due date. I just think it is odd that a doctor would say that unless there was a medical reason to induce you sooner. Since you can walk around dilated for weeks before going into active labor, I feel like it's almost mean to give mom to be's expectations that they really have no control over.

I think this is strange too and my ob keeps acting like she almost wants me to go into labor early. I have a rcs scheduled and feel way better than I did last pregnancy, so I am totally fine waiting for my scheduled day. Last time I was in severe pain to the point that I was taking major pain killers just to manage pain and I typically don't even take Tylenol and my ob didn't want to do anything to move things along.
  • My mother keeps texting and emailing me suggestions for nicknames for our little girl's name. She doesn't like the name or the nickname we have picked and continues to suggest alternatives regardless of how many times I have told her the decision have been made.

It is so insulting and I really hope she drops it once the baby is here.
You may need to go bsc on her to get her to stop.
  • I just read through the birth announcements thread. I feel even more excited/anxious to have this LO. I want to see him or her now!!

  • @mrscjmb9410‌ Just wanted to add that some providers shy away from revising ties, saying that baby may outgrow it or that it could tear/stretch on its own later. That's all well and good when the tie is not affecting breastfeeding. It is definitely worth a trip to an ent or pediatric dentist if your pediatrician doesn't revise ties, even just for an evaluation. If a tie affects breastfeeding, it's well worth revising it. That will also ensure that it doesn't affect speech or oral development as she grows. :) Good luck!

  • @alfibet‌ Good luck tonight. You got this. Good call on the walk.

@PurpleHippo19‌ eye roll on the last minute shower but hopefully you have a great time OR it brings on labor

@SPurp13‌ some people just do not get anxiety/depression. On the one hand, good for them. On the other, they say some insensitive shit.

  • I'm pretty sure baby is trying to compete with DS2 for longest labor. We've been at l&d since 9am. Just switched to our third shift of nurses.
Got an epi at 7:30 which has helped, but it made my blood pressure go crazy low. Honestly now all I want is a safe delivery.

  • What level of nesting is it when you think your laundry hampers are too dirty and need to clean them? I can't possibly put my dirty clothes in that somewhat dirty laundry hamper!
