Okay, I know this is a long ways off but anyone picking out favorite names?
We are pretty sure we will use a family name for a boy but for a girl we have a long list starting. Also, we like the idea of an Irish name but don't want to go overboard.
I love Charlotte. I wanted it on our girl list, but DH thought it was too old-fashioned. I also really like Rowan, it's not something people use often outside of fiction, but I've always liked it.
We're fairly sure we're having a boy, will confirm at our anatomy scan in a couple weeks. If so, we'll name him for my deceased FIL.
Thank you for the input everyone! It is hard when you just keep thinking of the same names over and over. They blur together. I am a little concerned about how popular Charlotte is so it was nice to hear about Kennedy too - thank you!
I love Charlotte, but there are already two girls (that I know of, maybe more) in our small area who have the name (go by Charlie) so we decided on something different for a girl. If it weren't for that, Charlotte is one of my faves! Of course, now that I'm thinking about it we just may change it back! Lol!
The only Danica I've ever personally known tried to fight me on several occasions and later went on to suddenly birth her 5th child in a nightclub. So yeah that one is ruined for me. Rowan is adorable! I've never heard it before. Is it from something in particular or just an older name making a comeback?
There are a lot of Charlotte's in LO's preschool. I vote Isla. Also, there is a girl in lo's class names Neave. I guess that's Irish. They call her Neavey (rhymes with Evie). I think it's really cute.
We named our 3rd daughter Kennedy and love it. There wasn't anyone near us named that when she was born. Fast forward to now and we have 2 others in our close neighborhood that I know of. We also have a daughter named Ainsley- not sure if that's up your alley but she *always* gets compliments on her name.

I actually LOVE Ainsley but just had a relative name their daughter that. Until then, it was top of my list!
Also dont worry about going "over board," just look at names and fall in love with one of them. We chose to go with an Irish name aswell, naming our son Padraic.

There have been a couple of name threads already. We were decided on a girl name but not a boy name and it is a boy.
Of your names, Charlotte and Kennedy are really popular and Kennedy is trendy popular, not classic popular like Charlotte. Rowan is a boy name. Isla is also becoming more popular, but I think it is a nice name. Delaney, IMO is already dated, it had a big spike in trendiness years ago, kind of the way Kennedy will be dated in ten years.
I have a link with some good Irish names that are legit, but less common, and not yoonique or trendy, but I'm mobile. I'll try to remember to come back to post it later.
Rowan sounds like a great boys name. I wouldn't have even thought it for a girl. Is it pretty girl exclusive or is it gender neutral?
To answer your question, you're right- Rowan is a boy name. It began as a celtic name after the Rowan Tree. It has now found its way into the world of girl names, and is becoming more gender neutral because it is being used on so many females. But nonetheless, it's a male's name.
Mama to Rowan Sebastian and baby boy coming in April!
Rowan is on my boy list, but could be nice for a girl too--a lovely tree name with positive connotations. I would agree that Charlotte has become incredibly popular--to the point that I would never consider it. The number of Charlottes between 1 and 5 that I know of through friends or acquaintances is pretty crazy.

My fav is Kennedy from your list.

Love Rowan too!
Additionally, Rowans are sacred trees in a few religions.
Alaina instead of Alanah
Delaine instead of Delaney
Charlotte and Kennedy are not favs of mine. Also I like the PPs votes for Ayla over Isla.
