I think placenta is absolutely the coolest thing on earth. Also, my batshit nutty friend was telling me that when you get a c section, they lay out all your organs on your body and you can feel the weight. I don't care if that's true, but if it is, I kind of don't want to miss the opportunity to see all my own organs.

They cut just under where you stomach meets your outer vagina (sorry, can't remember the proper term). Plus the incision isn't big, just big enough to get the baby out with a little squeezing. I don't think they take your organs out. I never felt the 'weight of my organs'. I did feel all the pressure and pushing and pulling it took to get N out. It was uncomfortable but not painful.
The video we watched in my birth class (a simulation, not actual surgery) showed them taking the entire uterus out and lying it on her stomach.

That's not all your organs though. The uterus makes sense. They have to get the placenta out and do whatever in there so I imagine they would want to see the uterus better. I honestly don't know how many organs they take out but it would be seriously cool to see!
Ha!  I never interpreted that as ALL my organs, because well, that would be ridiculous.  I mean skin is an organ.  How would you even lay your skin on your skin?  :)

Um, ok? Passive aggressive much? I was just trying to let you know what I experienced with my csection while saying I absolutely have no idea how many organs they take out AND agreeing with you that it would be cool. But whateves.
