Re: Wednesday Randoms

  • Todays agenda includes a trip to the dr for my yearly PAP. I have no sitter avaliable so the littles will come with me.

After MS being a complete 2 year old jerk all day yesterday I can not wait to be stuck in stirrups spread eagle while also keeping him in check.

    Fun times!

  • I had my ob appointment yesterday, I'm like about 2 cm dilated, so nothing crazy. I decided I would work the rest of this week and then maybe start leave next week.

After having contractions all night and feeling like shit, I changed my mind and will be calling HR to start my FMLA leave today. I can't wait to have that conversation with my boss.

    Will your boss be upset?

Just me and the baby this week - DH is out of town - and I'm sick. On the upside they added Gilmore Girls to Netflix last night. A day of baby cuddles and Netflix bingeing? I think yes.

ETA: Just once I'd like to post on mobile without having to edit because of autocorrect.

  • I had emailed a guy yesterday and told him I'd be coming tomorrow (today) to buy a piece of furniture he had listed on CL and not to sell it. We decided on a time and everything. He emailed me last night at 8 and said he sold it.

    Jackass.

  • I look like grumpy cat this morning. I really hope my co workers sense said grumpiness and give me space today. DS1 has transformed into Mr. Hyde 24/7 and DS2 thinks being up from 12am-2am is the cool thing to do.

I'm home with DS today. My parents are coming in and we are going to take him to the zoo. I'm hoping he'll stay in the stroller the whole time because we still have to keep his activity low.

Is he feeling okay today, too?

I am sooooo not missing month end closes! You gals have all my sorries!!

I had promised my boss I would be willing to come in while on maternity leave & help close out since it is primarily my job, but so far I have only fielded a few dozen phone calls & boycotted coming in. Sorrynotsorry!

    Why do kids hate sleep??

I am not sure.  I have tried reasoning with them and apparently that does not work.
  • My pumpkin spice K cup is not that great :( It smelled so good that I had high hopes. It's making me cranky. I tried to get O to let me watch Gilmore Girls but, we are watching Daniel Tiger. Z is being an angel though so it evens out.

Also O didn't get teeth until over a year old. Z is drooling so so much. Is it normal for three month old to be teething? Maybe he is just a drooly baby.

@Rach7170 DS2 started drooling a ton around three months and did not get any teeth until 8.5 months.  I think that 3-6 months old is peak drool time.<br>

    Sorry your coffee was disappointing.

  • The couch we bought did not fit up the stairs yesterday so the delivery guys had to bring it back. Now we have to look for a new one this weekend. I am sad about the couch but do love furniture shopping and am gonna keep an eye out for other stuff we may/may not need (like a King bed)!

Sorry about the couch but I say go for it with the King bed. We had that debate when we got married and I'm so glad we got the king.  Though, we have one and if one of the kids sneak in they still insist on sleeping as close to me as possible and pushing me over until I am sleeping with my head on the nightstand.

  • So I need gift giving advice...I am notoriously over-generous but really need to dial that down. One of DD's DC teachers is starting another job and her last day is Friday. DD has been in her class for 5 months now. The teacher is not her primary but she is there with DD every morning since DD is an early arrival. I was thinking of getting her a card and a gift card as a thank you/good luck gift. DH said that is overboard and not necessary. What do you think? If you were to get a gift card how much would be appropriate? TIA!

That's very nice of you but I think a thank you card would suffice.  If you really wanted to do a gift I think that even a $10-$15 starbucks card would be ok (enough for a breakfast and coffee).

  • I've been lurking a lot and posting less, but I think maybe I want to change that.

Also, I'm feeling a little bloated this morning because I ate a full basket of hot wings and had two beers for dinner last night.  Maybe I shouldn't eat as much as a man that's 6'5" (I'm 5'3") and probably has a hundred pounds on me?  LMK.

  • I feel like I can not get back on track after this weekend.  I am exhausted.  It probably doesn't help that I stayed up late last night to watch stupid Sons of Anarchy.  And then my husband wanted to talk to me for ever about nothing really important.

DS started teething around 10 weeks and cut his first tooth on the same day he turned four months - he got the other bottom middle one a couple days later.

DS started teething at 3 months, but popped his first teeth around 5 or 6 months.

Really, really bad acid reflux-y type pain, but concentrated a bit lower than your esophagus. I do not recall it feeling like gas/sour stomach, more sharp and acidic. I was pretty young, so I kinda blocked out the severity. Like, I remember there being a lot of pain, but I don't remember the pain itself very well. Weird.

  • Hello everyone.

I have been lurking for a bit and decided to finally say hi! Today started off promising when I was able to get up and out of the house 15 minutes earlier than usual in effort to actually get to work on time. Well now I've been stuck at a train for 20 minutes and can't move. Whatever, I guess better luck tomorrow.
  • Oh yay, & i just realized my appointment is at 11:40 instead of 11. Pushing right at naptime & DDs next feeding time.

So fresh hell is what I'll be getting into today,
  • I had emailed a guy yesterday and told him I'd be coming tomorrow (today) to buy a piece of furniture he had listed on CL and not to sell it. We decided on a time and everything. He emailed me last night at 8 and said he sold it.

    That's shitty.
Sucks for him though, because he was really low-balling himself, so we were going to pay more than he was asking. He wanted $50 for a really nice piece that could easily sell for $150+. We were going to give him $100.

  • It's fiscal year close time so everyone in my department is on level 100000. Everyone needs to CTFD. And thanks to my teething baby I didn't sleep much last night and since she doesn't react well to caffeine I can't even have real coffee :(

It's going to be a long week

  • We saw the Behavioral Psychologist yesterday about DS1.  She does think he would benefit from being evaluated for attention/sensory/focus issues.  I'm glad we have a plan but it makes me feel a little sad.  I just want him to be happy and healthy so I know this is the right path.

DH is getting his vasectomy on Friday.  I'm a little sad but mostly just excited that we are that much closer to getting rid of condoms forever.  They are excruciating since I had DD and I didn't even push her out of my vag.

I'm on a Fiona spiral now b/c I just read @jesuisfatiguee 's fake GBCB post from the other day.
