  • Thanks @‌mk1013 :) Glad to hear you got a longer stretch. Hopefully it will stick and your body will adjust!
  • How's breastfeeding going this week? Any issues? Going well. No issues... just trying to maintain my supply.

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night? She is 19 weeks today. During the day she can go 3 hours between feedings. Longest stretch without waking at night is 5-6 hours.

    EBF, EP, supplementing? EBF

Raves and rants? I ran out of Kiinde breastmilk storage bags a couple weeks ago and stopped pumping. I definitely noticed a drop in production when pumping again, though baby girl can fill up on just one boob.

Where is the weirdest place you NIP? Weirdest might have been in front of my dad while my family was visiting. I minimized exposure but didn't use a cover every time. I just didn't want to banish myself for 30-45 minutes several times a day when I only had a few precious days with my family.

Anything else you want to share? Nope!

It's going well, a few times LO has pulled off screaming and thats been a little frustrating.  She either hate my right side now or just finishes that side more quickly.

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night?
She will be 19 weeks tomorrow.  Normally two hours during the say with one motn feeding.  She will usually sleep for a good 5-7 hours.

    EBF, EP, supplementing?
    EBF

    Raves and rants?
Raves: Tonight is night number 5 of her being in the crib!
Rants: She's not used to having all the room she does in the crib compared to the rnp, she will tend to fuss around 1 am and I spend about 30-45 min just leaning over her crib (back pain!) rubbing her back and sshhhing her until she calms back down.

Where is the weirdest place you NIP?
I've mostly done it in the car but we walked down the street to a playground while my sister and nephew were visiting, LO got hungry as we were heading back so I nursed her WHILE walking home through the neighborhood. Not really a weird place just a weird situation I guess.

Glad that I finally decided to just use the crib and to stop caving in with the rnp, she's finally getting used to the crib and laying on her tummy whir sleeping.  Still don't like the fact that she face plants while sleeping but I've heard they will move their heads when they need too.  Still doesn't stop a mommy from worrying though :-/

  • How's breastfeeding going this week? Any issues?

I usually just lurk on this thread, but I am struggling this week. I think I have a milk blister on the tip of one of my nipples -- it hurts like crazy when LO nurses on that side, and it's affecting my (already low) supply. From what I looked up, some sites recommend self-care and various home remedies, and some recommend seeing your doctor. Have any of you ladies had milk blisters? If so, how did you treat and how did it heal?

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night?

She's just over 4 weeks, typically goes 3 hrs between feedings during the day, but sometimes snacks a bit between feedings. Occasionally she sleeps 8+ hours, usually more like 5-6 if we're lucky, 3-4 if not.

    EBF, EP, supplementing?

BF and supplementing due to very low supply.

    Raves and rants?

Rant: Holy hell does it hurt. How can one little spot cause so much pain? I'm also feeling discouraged because my supply is lower now and BF is no longer this special bonding time, it's a struggle again.

Rave: I've managed to find a good position for nursing while baby-wearing. Now I actually get to eat dinner with MH.

Where is the weirdest place you NIP?

I'm pretty comfortable nursing wherever we need to. Though lately when we've been out, I've been taking her back to the car to eat because she is so distractible. All the things are so much more interesting than eating....
  • @Katzalia‌ , I had a milk blister and doc said to just leave it alone and let it heal by itself. I was able to just pump from that side at the time and just feed LO from the other. Which helped heal faster but if I got one now, I wouldn't be able to do that. But it healed just fine on its own.

Thanks @kendy20‌ glad to know yours healed on its own. I was going to just let it be but I think LO just popped it while nursing!
  • How's breastfeeding going this week? Any issues? DD does this awesome new trick where she pushes off the chair with her feet and arches her back unlatching and latching every minute or two. So I have that going for me!

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night? 19 weeks in two days. Still feeding every 2-3 hours. Sleeps 10-11 hours (I'm blessed with a good sleeper!)

    EBF, EP, supplementing?
    EBF

    Raves and rants?
Although I enjoy the connection with DD I'll be happy the day that I no longer need to breastfeed.

Where is the weirdest place you NIP?
    I don't...

Anything else you want to share?
Do babies breastfeed left when they go on solids? I've gotten mixed reviews.
  • Breast feed less*
  • How's breastfeeding going this week? Any issues? BF is going okay. I had surgery last Friday and had to pump and dump 15 oz - everyone I spoke with said I should at least do that the first 12 hours after surgery. We had the previous day's pump from work (20 oz or so) and then DH took out 10 oz frozen JIC. Needless to say, I became lazy with the pump on Saturday when she was eating the frozen stash so I think my supply is suffering now a little.

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night? I've given up counting in weeks - 4 months and some change. She used to sleep 10 hours straight at night. She got sick on Saturday and so she's been getting 7-8 straight now, plus another hour or so after she wakes up. Hoping she goes back to her 10+ at night once she is over this cold/allergies.

    EBF, EP, supplementing? EBF

Raves and rants? Rave: I've made it this far. Rant: I'm so over pumping at work. I hate feeling the pressure like I have to get x amount of oz to make sure she has enough for bottles the next day.

Where is the weirdest place you NIP? No idea. I'm boring - parks, out to dinner, stores, wherever and whenever DD gets hungry.

Anything else you want to share? @KellyQ116 - great job on making it this far!

  • How's breastfeeding going this week? Any issues?   The act itself is going ok, but I have a question for you ladies.  My LO is getting so long that the lower half of his body hangs off the end of the my brest friend pillow.   He's too heavy for me to feed without any type of aid.   I guess I can move to a regular ol' pillow unless there is something really cool out there that I don't even know about? (bastardizing the quote from Old School there. :) )

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night?   18 weeks.  He eats 10 times in a 24 hour period.   He's gone as long as 6 hours, but for the past several weeks, it has been 4 or less.   I'm still hoping it is a phase or the 4MW and that we'll be getting more sleep again soon.

EBF, EP, supplementing?   EBF and we still try to do one pumped bottle a day to stay in practice

    Raves and rants?
    Rave:
I still love it when LO is hungry and just eagerly dives on to the breast.  It makes me happy to be able to satisfy that need for him.
    Rant:
LO has started an irritating habit of kicking his legs about while eating.   Any suggestions?

Where is the weirdest place you NIP?  Local bar during Octoberfest?  :)   We met friends for brunch last week at a brewpub.  They had kicked off their Octoberfest activities so there were lots of folks in lederhosen milling about.

Anything else you want to share?  I'm reading Dr. Sear's Baby Book and read over the part about weaning.  Even though we're not even close to that time yet, the thought of it made me really sad.   I hope it goes well for you @kellyq116.  You've done an awesome job sticking with it for this long.  You'll have to share any tips you learn with us.

  • How's breastfeeding going this week? Any issues?
    So far so good!

How old is LO ? How long between feedings? What is the longest LO sleeps at night?
She's 20 weeks. Day and night it's right around every 3 hours that she eats. The longest she's slept at night is probably 5 hours.

    EBF, EP, supplementing?
EBF & pumping at work for bottles @ daycare. May have to start supplementing soon!

    Raves and rants?
A few weeks ago LO went from three 4oz bottles a day at daycare to four 5oz bottles. Completely stressed me out as it was hitting my stash hard and I was nervous about having to supplement. Now she's back to 3 bottles a day but still at 5oz which is fine. I'm starting to see an increase in supply which makes me happy. We also practiced with a small amt of supplement earlier this week and she took it so I'm relieved to know that!

Where is the weirdest place you NIP? So far I guess the weirdest place would be a children's history museum type place...

Anything else you want to share?
Glad I'm still BF and have made it to 4 months!!
