Hi, All. This is my second pregnancy. I am about 8 weeks along and there is no doubt that I am clearly and obviously showing at this point! I mean, absolutely no way to hide it any longer. I am lucky in that I have a job where I only have to see my boss about once every couple of weeks. However, tonight is one of those nights. There is a dinner and meeting scheduled tonight where not only my boss will be present, but alumni, students, etc. (I work in higher education). I have not had an ultrasound yet so we don't really know if everything is "okay". Do I: 1) Call in sick for the dinner and meeting; 2) Try to talk to my boss over the phone today to let him know I'm pregnant before tonight's meeting; 3) Say nothing, go to the dinner and meeting, and let my belly announce it for me? What would you do? TIA.
Re: To tell or not to tell?
I mean-- so what if your boss thinks you are pregnant? You already work there, right? It's not like you are trying to conceal the pregnancy from a potential new employer.
If he/ she has any manners, it will not be brought up, and you can share your news when you feel comfortable doing so.

Ya you may be showing last nights dinner, some water retention and a backed up bowel but there is no way your raspberry size baby is creating a bump.
OMG just wear some baggy clothes and don't sweat it if you dont want to tell. no one is going to notice or comment. I am 21 weeks and if I dress a little flowy you would never be able to tell, I highly doubt at 8 weeks its impossible to hide. Sorry, its in your head.

I just love when WKs who cry about how people aren't being nice end up acting like meanie heads.
I've read your comments to other women who really needed kind support and it's so rude and there was no need for it. You clearly have no life and wake up to come sit on here and find more people to piss off. Enjoy your shitty and life. You my friend are what we like to call a cunt!
Oh no, the laughing stock of your ENTIRE OFFICE?! What will I do with myself. I guess I should go cry In the corner now....

PS, threads like this are the reason I keep coming back. I appreciate your efforts in providing my entertainment through nap times.
Do tell, if your co workers know your pregnant, what was their "support" that you obviously didn't like, that you came here, didn't like what the gals here said, and then went back to "have a laugh" with your co workers?
You make no sense. But hey...
But why do I have a feeling you're going to go to the event wearing the tightest shirt you own?
Telling the original poster that it's anatomically impossible to show with baby at 8 weeks is truth. We may not sugar-coat or dress it up, but you @therecines are the only one in this thread acting like a bully. Good job! :-bd
Also @AFwifelife , the glitter gif is amazing & I thought the red flag throwing one-- that the ref was throwing bacon. Clearly I need breakfast. :-P~
