Really Dumb Question

Re: Really Dumb Question

  • We set everything up as soon as we got it with our first.  Since we are using all of the same stuff this time, it's already out, but not really set up.  I didn't want the stuff to smell like the stores, lol.  We went into the hospital the day after we bought the car seat, so it was still in the box when we had him.  Hubbs had to install it in the hospital parking lot when we were discharged.

  • We set up everything when I was around 30-32 weeks with DS which was around when my showers were.

This time I'm with @IamInigoMontoya‌ - waiting til the last minute lol

I just started getting things ready, but it's mostly because they will be sharing a room. I needed to reorganize things to make room for baby clothes and the crib.
Our boys are sharing a room too - I'll probably set up the bedroom furniture soon-ish but the bassinet, swing, PnP etc. won't be set up til closer to my EDD.
Sharing a room here too. I set up the crib over a month so that I would have somewhere to put all the baby things we are getting. Its overflowing currently, as we have EVERYTHING baby related in there (including the swing, in pieces.)

We are moving into a 2 bedroom apartment in like two weeks( were in a one bedroom and DH and I sleep in the living room) shoo after that, ill set everything up where it is going to go and get the cradle out of storage. We just don't have the room right now in 500sqft.

  • Well I'm a planner and a FTM so we have put everything together pretty much the moment we received it and I still feel like I have so much to do :) I'm sure a lot (most) of it is not necessary at all, but I just like to organize, label, re-organize, etc.

Putting some of this stuff together really makes me want a drink though. Who knew baby stuff was so difficult to assemble?? :)

    DS1: 12/17/2014
DS2: born sleeping at 26 weeks on 8/8/2016 due to chromosomal deletion
    Pregnant with baby 3 -  EDD 9/14/2017

  • Our house is tiny, so I'm going to wait for most things. The rock and play and bassinet will probably be the only things we set up. If baby doesn't like those, we'll move down the line in order haha.

I do like the idea of opening stuff to get rid of the smell though....I just don't know where it would all go!

  • Last time I set most everything up the minute I got them, which was about this point in pregnancy (beginning of 3rd tri). I was an over-eager FTM, so there's that. ;)  This time, everything new is still in boxes and everything old is still in the basement. Whoops. I actually plan to get on that before October is up because DH is traveling a lot during November, and then holy crap, it's baby time.
