Popping Feeling

16W2days. Posterior placenta...ultrasound confirmed. I've been feeling what feels like pops well below my belly button. Usually I just feel a single pop sometimes follow closely by another pop. Is this it? Can you please describe what you felt the first time you felt your baby?

    ?Wtf are you asking?

ETA: my "popping feeling" feels like round ligament pain. :-/

  • Erm, am I supposed to magically be able to tell you more about your body than you yourself can tell? Like, can I ask you if sitting on my left hip feels better on my back than the right? Wouldn't you be like "wtf, how am I supposed to know?"

For real, what are we supposed to tell you?

  • If you're asking how I would describe my first hints of movement, for me it's been more of a fluttering. Like you, very low and very brief. Just as I've noticed the feeling, it's gone. Another poster described hers as a feeling of someone lightly drumming their fingers from the inside - I thought this was a pretty accurate description for me too. "Pops" for me are more sudden and distinct, so gas bubbles. Hope this helps.

  • Idk what you're feeling. Whatever I'm feeling is so quick & indistinct I can't describe it as anything but sensation of movement. Like joon said it's gone just as I notice it. I'm not ready to call it baby until it's 100% clear! It's weird though b/c I haven't felt anything - even gas - until now, so I'm hoping I can say for sure soon!
  • It's posterior placenta. It just means your placenta is at the back of your uterus (back or front is normal, bottom is not). You will probably feel the baby sooner than someone with an anterior placenta, but as for your "popping" I have no clue what you are talking about like a piece of popcorn popped, or like a tire popped, or like someone popped (or hit) you.
  • I wasn't asking the you explain my body to me. Just wanted to know what other women felt the first time they felt their baby.
  • Thanks... Don't know what that feels like. FTM
  • Thanks I edited the post.
  • I am guessing you were talking about me. Your original post was pretty vague. It sounded as if you wanted to know if the popping feeling was caused by your posterior placenta. No need to get rude about it; just be more clear about what you want next time.
