Dropped hcg levels

We were in a car accident last Tuesday. At er baby heart beat was 150. Normally up at 169. At on follow up heart beat 150. Since Tuesday I've had lower back pain and lower abdomnial pain. Diff. Er said it was uti. Again heart beat was 150. They checked my hcg levels and said they was low at 6900. I was wondering is this normal is or has anyone been in my position.

    How far along areyou now, and how far along were you when the heart rate was 169? I know that baby's heart rate slowly drops at some point as the pregnancy progresses.

    Sorry you're going through this. It must be very stressful. Are you spotting or cramping?

    After a quick google I found this:

    13-16 weeks LMP: 13,300 – 254,000 mIU/ml

    17-24 weeks LMP: 4,060 – 165,400 mIU/ml

    And it sounds like 120-180 is a normal fetal heart rate. Honestly, I think your ER is overreacting and everything is fine. And for your sake, I hope this is true.

    My baby's HB was around 161 I think at week 12 and 149 at week 16. And both times the dr said he was healthy and didn't see any cause for concern. That being said, only your Dr can say what is normal for you.

    Ditto to what others have said about 150 being a normal heart beat. As the fetus grows the heartbeat will continue to slow down gradually. My ob explained if simply as the smaller the mammal the higher the heart rate so as your baby grows it's heart will slow.

    My baby's heart rate has already slowed from 180s to 150s. Please contact your OB for a more conclusive answer and good luck

    As PP said, HCG goes down at a certain point. If you are far enough along to be in the M15 group, they shouldn't even be checking HCG levels now. Most likely after a car accident, they would just check for fetal heart tones and maybe do a quick ultrasound.

    This. They shouldn't have even ordered quant HCG if you're out of 1st tri & they're seeing a fetus with heartbeat.
