  • I can't believe someone seriously posted to see if she really needs someone to buy her a $30 humidifier.  Why the hell can't people think for themselves?!?!?!?

Sorry, these posts are driving me batty.  I also just mortified myself by spilling a venti iced coffee all over the floor at Starbucks.
Yeah, I'm not getting involved in that.

As a spin off to that question, since you said you use one now, we bought one a few months ago for the baby (I know, so stupid. I should have expected someone ELSE to buy it at my post-baby baby shower.), and I've been using it since I have this pregnant lady stuffy nose thing going on. I started waking up to the entire area around it being totally soaked. My husband says it's because it's not as warm anymore, but I refuse to believe that's a normal thing. I mean how do people use them? Put them in the center of the room inside a plastic tub? It was DRENCHED, dude.

Maybe it's the sleep deprivation, but all these new posters coming out of the woodwork are making me an insane person. Where the fuck has everyone been hiding, and what urges them to post at the very last minute? So weird.

Did you see the one where someone suggested that pink spotting is possibly a fetal bowel movement?  No, I am not shitting you.  It happened.

I've been avoiding pretty much everything but the random threads. All the 'FTMs usually labor for a long time. Stay at home for awhile!' comments are giving me irrational anxiety, since my labor was 6 hours all total and I missed my epidural/antibiotic window. I'm resisting the urge to wave my arms around and yell "get to the hospital now!" I'm great under pressure, clearly ;)

  • Fruits I normally eat are making my mouth itchy..
  • Its almost time for outback and im going to eat all the things! Also, I mopped my laundry room & kitchen.. labor must be imminent.. within the next 28 days or so ;) my kids wont stop whining and neither will my husband.. but hes outside closing the pool which I totally do not envy.. im exhausted now after being in that wedding yesterday.. im laying on the floor and could seriously fall asleep..
  • Costco on a Sunday afternoon sounds like hell in the best of physical condition.  Are you at least going to get yourself something amazing from their bakery?  I loveeee their massive muffins,  Mmmm....
Nope, no treats for me.  The last time I was there, the only treat I got was massive contractions through half the store.  :(

  • I'm alternating between cleaning and putting my feet up. 80 degrees in end of September has given me really swollen feet.

  • I moved forward my maternity leave by a week because I just can't handle not sleeping and going to work everyday. The substitute that was supposed to take my job just backed out and now my principal has to find a new one. This alone was making me nervous about my last week of work but now I have the added pressure of finding new childcare for baby or determining if I'm going to go back to work or not this year. The daycare my daughters currently at has said all along they had a spot and now they're saying they can't guarantee that they will :(
  • I turned down a nap and detailed my car. The alien has completely taken over my body. Labor cannot be imminent. He has 2 more weeks before I'll allow any of this labor nonsense.

Ditto @sweetadeline31‌ I never knew washing curtains was a thing. Y'all are saying that febreeze doesn't cut it?

This is reminding me that I need to get my flu shot this week.  I was planning to get mine for free at work, but apparently they only have the thimerisol kind and they actually refuse to give it to pregnant women even with a doctor's note. @theresat858  I'm glad to hear that, given your background, you agree with that policy.  My doctor said there wasn't a risk to get the thimerisol kind, which some basic google searches seemed to confirm, and I was getting incredibly annoyed at my firm's policy, which I was thinking was totally unnecessary.

Also, I thought I had heard and gotten over all of the random insensitive things that strangers could say about pregnancy at this point, but one really got to me today.  I was just at Whole Foods and a woman stopped me to say "There's two of them in there, right?" -- which is annoying on its own, but not a huge deal  But the what really got to me is that the woman who asked was carrying around what looked to be about a 4-5 month old baby herself.  Did she suddenly have amnesia on what things were like for her just a few months ago?? Or was she just the elusive pregnancy unicorn who only gained 10 pounds on a tiny frame, felt wonderful the entire time, and never got stupid comments from strangers?  I'm so curious.

  • I have been MIA all weekend. Lots going on.  DH and I refinished the kitchen table we bought on Craigslist earlier this week, and it is almost done.  I am in LOVE with this table! Just need some clear coats on the top, which I can't do because of the fumes.  DH and his friend are also putting up the trim in the kitchen.  I may have a near complete kitchen this week!! I am pretty excited. We also got out maternity photos back today and I hate them.  The pictures look all stretched out for some reason and I look HUGE.  I have gained some weight yes, but these pictures look ridiculous :( I should have spent the extra money for the photographer I really wanted...

  • @SPurp13‌ That's a really tough choice. I will pick stuffed crust.

DH is going out of town. At least a 2.5 hour drive from here. Surely my water will break while he is gone.

  • I just plan on running into the medical supply on my unit and grabbing a towel to stuff down my pants...I'm here for the embarrassing memories!

So now I'm all paranoid about the water breaking deal. I've been wearing panty liners every day for months, so I definitely notice discharge, but I would notice a leak right? Or not? Maybe I shouldn't wear liners from here out? Ugh, why can't there be a one-size-fits-all plan for birthing a child. Like, here's what will happen, on this day, at this time, rainbows and unicorns all around.

I think about this too but I just have to believe that I will know if something is up. I can't sit around freaking out and watching for signs.

I've started wearing pads out in public.  I was reading that if baby is in the OP position (mine is), closer to 20% of labors start with water breaking!

Oh no! Now I'm more paranoid. My baby is OP too. I'm hoping she turns over because I'm also terrified of 4th degree tears and I read that OP can result in more severe tears.

  • I can't wait to get started tonight on my project for little decorations on LOs part of the bedroom (will share with DS for a bit). I hope it comes out as I'm picturing. I'm itching to do it now but have to wait till DS goes to bed or he'll want to "help".
  • Update: the Pizza Hut here is not doing carryout. WTF? So, Pretzel Pizza it is. Why no carryout? That's the fastest and easiest money they could make!

I just sent DH out on a run for a Pumpkin Spice Chai from Starbucks (fyi, I'm lactose intolerant), and some McDonald's (mmmm, fries and grease).  I keep telling myself it's all in the name of not being backed up, is better than taking medication, and therefore is actually a health benefit.....right?!

I didn't even know Pumpkin Spice Chai was a thing. I need one ASAP. Sounds amazing.

I asked a labor nurse and my OB about this because it was freaking me out. They both said if I haven't felt anything trickle down my leg, I'm fine and it's just discharge. But I stopped wearing liners to be sure I'd notice... Instead I obsess over it breaking in unfortunate places with no protection.

I'm one of those people who worries about how much I worry tho, so nothing was going to appease me.

Now I'm regretting my decision. Husband is picking up two different pizzas instead. Just in case.

    Little Cesar's is disgusting. FYI.
I haven't had it in at least 20 years. I used to like it then but who knows what I'm in for now. I normally like thin crust. This will be interesting.

I was told that the pumpkin spice syrup has dairy in it.....
Technically it does. But It's such a small amount that most people with an intolerance can drink it (I just get mine soy). I'm also someone who can still eat bread, etc made with dairy and be fine. It all depends on the level of your intolerance. If you had a dairy allergy you probably should stay away...

It's finally cool enough to have a hot beverage, so I'm trying RRL tea for the first time.

I don't know if I could drink this crap 3 times a day.
I drink it once a day. Should I be drinking more?
