DH got a new living room rug and a cute organizer for Ronan's toy corner. He seems happier which had made my day easier. He felt so much better that we discussed the poll and he's decided that he likes Rosalyn best. Rosalyn seems to be the one name that everyone likes (spelling is a factor), that isn't too popular, doesn't sound like poo in a foreign language and won't get mispronounced. She has a name!
I've had a productive day so far. Went to a children's consignment sale and got baby boy some clothes. Then, DH and I went and toured a daycare. I really liked it and DH said he's sold. After that we went to lunch at a newish place we've been meaning to try. It was so good! I'm gonna run to the mall to get our rings inspected to keep up with the warranty. Later, we're going to the Ohio State game.
I also have to clean because my parents are coming to visit tomorrow. We decided on our nursery furniture, so I think we're gonna order it and start moving stuff out of the room that will be the nursery.
I finally finalized the plans for my husband's surprise birthday weekend. I haven't done anything like this before, so I'm worried he won't like it or will be disappointed. He (unlike me) loves surprises, and when I asked him what he wanted, he said he'd rather have an experience than an actual physical gift. We haven't gotten to spend much time together at all in the past 2 months due to his crazy work schedule, so I planned a weekend of fun. Saturday: going to a mountain town for a live bluegrass concert (he loves bluegrass) and festival going on during the morning/afternoon. Later that afternoon/evening, going to a dinner/theatre production (he really likes musicals) in a nearby town. Spend the night in a nice hotel. Wake up and go hiking (one of his favorite things) and hit up a brewery that he likes. I'm horrible at secrets and have been so tempted to run ideas by him, but I've been good. Hopefully it all works out...
January siggy challenge: Tying my own damn shoes again.
Baby's A/S is on Monday and I'm so ready for it to be here!!
I'm a little on the grumpy side today because I'm missing out on The Makeup Show in Dallas and a local Celtic Festival. Being a responsible adult really sucks sometimes...
@sugahcookie01 I'll bet that's what caused it. If you need to, get your doc to write you a note allowing you to sit more during the day, if that's possible. And of course try to drink a lot of water. I got to that point around 25-26 weeks, but my ankles and legs would swell by the mid-afternoon despite sitting to teach. Your ring is beautiful!
Any dancer mommas here? I was just wondering if you all are continuing with your dance routine. I love dancing and I am a trained salsa dancer. But I haven't danced at all since I got pregnant. I miss dancing a lot.
Hey @sugahcookie01 and anyone else doing a nautical themed nursery, check out zullily. In the home section there's a Never Grow Up shop with tons of cute and customizable stuff.

I hear you! my husband has hidden my tap and pointe shoes. xD probably for good reason, but it's hard for me to give it all up cold turkey. If I have some spare time on weekends I'll head over to my old studio with some of my past dance friends and reminisce. I don't over do it though.

I like it! Are you going to call her Ros (like Frasier's producer)?
I'm definitely pushing Ros over Rosie or Rosa. I'll probably leave the nicknames to family and call her the full name at home. I'm so glad we finally have something narrowed down. Now to figure out the spelling. It's going to be Rosalyn, Rosalin, Rosaline or Rosalind. I guess we'll just figure out which one we write out the best and how strongly we want to stick to the namesake (Rosalind Franklin).
I'm currently snuggling with a cat in the recliner. This morning I woke up super sore and thought about skipping my prenatal swim class. I ended up going because I usually feel so much better after being in the pool. I must have either overdone it, or working out while already hurting just made things worse.
DH and I picked up a little in the living room and sorted through some of DS's "baby toys" to put in the baby's room. Now DS is napping and I just convinced DH to make a run to chik fil a for me.
After DS wakes up, I think we might head to BRU and set up a registry/start looking at furniture for the nursery.

We went to a party store looking for Elsa dresses or something to use to make an Elsa dress. Well they just restocked the Frozen section so I puffed out my belly, picked up DD and plowed our way through and I got an Elsa dress, crown and gloves before they were all scooped up! No sewing for me! I felt like my 2 year old and I were really on the same page... Must get Elsa dress...
This is a big deal because I have been on the hunt for this Halloween costume since August and they have always been sold out. Now I need to convince DH to dress up like a reindeer.
I'm dressing DS as Kristoff. We got a stuffed Sven reindeer at Disneyland, and we're going to put cardboard cutouts on the side of the wagon to make it look like a sled. Its gonna be so cute!

LOL love the visual you gave me of you puffing your belly out and plowing your way through the other customers! Glad you got the costume! Please post a pic of DD in it when you can. Maybe we can have a thread of our dressed-up kids?
@ jmcgra06 we recently had the same thing for a wedding in Philly. Church was in N.East, hotel and wedding downtown. Fortunately, I requested early check in a few days before and they were nice. Lowes hotel was very accommodating. Hope running around in this summer heat isn't so bad.
We registered for this baby today (for the coupons, a private registry...yay for completion discounts)!
We did that too, I have two "regular" registries which I will share, and then a private for us to get our furniture and some other things only my mom and sisters know about.
Oh ewwwww ewww I do not like mobile app!!!! I can't gif, but insert a Friends gif where Pheobe says "ewww" when eating something (I can't remember what)
I can't believe how today has flown and I don't even feel like I did a whole ton! My card making techniques class was wonderful. After I came home and napped for several hours. It was blissful.
Then I did up some tomatoes, helped DH with cows, and joined IL's and some friends at the dairy queen. A quiet but good day.
Tomorrow we are headed out to the lake for a hobo dinner. I am so excited!

I had to cancel a whole summer of planned dancing because my morning sickness was so bad. I'm still bummed about that. I haven't been dancing, but coming next week I will be in the studio weekly to muck around.
If you can, I say get dancing! I have lots of friends who danced through their pregnancies, two even performing for me while pregnant. It's not often in life that we get to experience our moving bodies while pregnant, exploring how we move now is so cool! And it's good for you
Actually when I asked my doc if it's okay to continue dancing, he said, "why don't you try taking walks instead? It's the best exercise you can do." When I pushed him a little further he said, "yeah okay you can continue if you really wanna but be careful with your moves". So since then I am a little uncertain because he seemed a little concerned about dancing. I so wanna start and I am gonna ask him again during my next visit.
Oh, and I gotta brag on DH for a minute-- I wasn't feeling well this evening after all of the running around and parties and such today. I had started to clean when we got home around 6, but I got as far as hand washing all the dishes that wouldn't fit into the dishwasher and could go no more. I was starting to cry and DH asked what he could do to help. I said, "I just need a cleaning fairy..." He said, "Just rest, maybe have a nap or watch your show, and I'll get cleaning." I woke up 4 HOURS LATER to DH saying everything was all clean for the party tomorrow and all I have to do is bake the cake and let it cool while "I take all my girls to IHOP for breakfast" (*swoon*) and then enjoy the day until the party. Major brownie points for that man!
Now I get to try my cupcakes with frosting and cocoa krispies. Yay!
