Everyone hates what I want to name my son!

Re: Everyone hates what I want to name my son!

  • With my daughter I told everyone what we would be naming, and everyone's opinions were so annoying! This time we won't tell anyone until he's here and we have named him. When it comes to names you just can't please everyone and you shouldn't have to.

  • Aubrie Mia is so pretty. I think Peter and Aubrie sound great together. I was trying to think of names that go with Thor and couldn't. Either way, I'm glad you found a way to keep your name and love the first name.

  • My mom hated my daughter's name (Beate) and basically said so in the hospital upon hearing it. And she makes her comments here and there 2.5 years later. She sucks. People suck.

If you want to name your son Thor, do it.

How do you pronounce your daughter's name?
Bee-Ah-Tuh. Rhymes with the car Miata.

  • I'm having a similar problem!! I'm having twin boys and everyone loves one of the names we picked, but everyone has something negative to say about the other. It got to the point where I was ready to choose another name, but luckily my husband keeps reassuring me that I picked a great name and that we have to go with what WE feel is the best name for our son, not what everyone else thinks.
  • @ginadenisee‌ Peter Thor is a great name!
  • Thor isn't exactly my most favorite name, but if you like it, go for it. People were not too fond of DD name (Maisey) when the name game was happening, but it fits her so well now and people love it! :)

  • Sweaty my family gave me shit about my first childs name. I told them all to stick it. Its your baby, your choice. I love the name thor. And when i think about the name i think of the worlds strongest man 2014. His stage name is thor and his full name is hafthor bijornstien its a great and strong name. Dont settle to please others.
  • Name your baby boy as you pleased. Everyone will have to cope. I'm naming my bBy Olivia grace if it's a girl, no one likes grace. Or believe in a second name, but guess what it's my baby lol
  • I see both sides, but I think it's fine to name a child something formal and call them by their nickname.  I had a student named Henry Townsend J_____ and he went by Towns, a nickname of his middle name.  We named our son William Caswell H____ and called him Case, a nickname of his middle name.  My thought was if our boy ended up hating "Case", he could easily go by his first name instead.  If we named him Caswell William, it wouldn't be so easy.
