I was looking online at Panera's menu for lunch ideas... I thought I would be all sold on broccoli cheddar soup but now I see they have baked potato soup too. Hmmm...do I need a clickii pole?
I agree with @ss265. Definitely get something in writing from the collection agency. Ask if there is a lower amount you can settle for if you pay in full and then ask them to send that agreement to you in writing. Sometimes things can get mixed up and they could come back and say you still owe such and such. Good luck!
I kinda luv my ex-husband in the most platonic way possible. He mailed FI a letter telling him how much he appreciates everything FI has done for our kids, some new dad pointers, and some pointers on dealing with me postpartum. (Apparently I was not very nice during the first 3 weeks.) He also sent $150 for FI to order us all the yummy Mexican foods during our hospitol stay.
I know it sounds weird, but FI loved it. He worries he's screwing up with my kids, and having ExH say these things has made him feel so much better.
Thank you for all the support, lady's. Can I get some help from our lawyer lady's or anyone who has been in a similar situation?
It pretty much says that I have until 11/04 to file why I shouldn't have to pay, and if I don't show up in court on that day, they automatically rule in favor of the creditor. That's fine. I owe the money, and I'll pay it. I just don't want to go to court or have my unsecured debt turned into a judgment.
How do I take care of this outside of court? Do I pay the collection agency? Or since this has now become a legal issue, do I have to go through the Plaintiff's lawyer? Do I pay the collection agency and send a copy of the payment to the lawyer? Does paying it in full automatically drop the case, or would I still have to file and state that of X date, the debt has been paid? I am so clueless.
I don't practice this type of law, but paying it before the court date will likely save you some lawyer and court fees for which you would also be responsible if there was a judgment against you.
I would strongly suggest looking on creditboards.com for help on other debts if there's an issue there. Sometimes just paying things off can be worse for your credit report/score. They will have advice there on negotiating for credit report removal and things like that. It does take a bit of time and effort to get organized, but is ultimately well worth it.
Also. All these people being induced after 39 wks... What are the pros/cons of that? My docs said that they let you go to 42 weeks before inducing unless you're having signs of early labor...
I am only being induced because of the GD. I have had to be on medication to control it and at some point the placenta fails. So in order to avoid that, the standard practice is to get the baby out between 39 & 40 weeks. It is not ideal but it is medically necessary for the safety of the lo.
eta: There are lots of reason to not have it otherwise. My chances of having an emergency C-section are much higher. Personally the idea of being induced freaks me the hell out but I have to listen to the multiple doctors (at least four) that have suggested.
@AppleGrapeMSTK - Sorry to hear about this! I would be beyond PISSED at my H! No excuse for that. My H does the same with just putting mail in a pile and not checking it. I have done really well with getting everything set up on auto pay, and we talk and go through our budget every pay check for the most part so every two weeks. We try to have these open discussions so we know where we are at with everything. I manage our finances for the most part, because I take it VERY serious. I don't know about other men, but my H didn't seem to care about his credit or finances much until we got together. It was just better if I took over control of our finances and managed. I hope you guys are able to figure it all out
I went from being swamped at work to having nothing. I guess I'd rather have nothing, so I don't know why I'm complaining.
Also, they moved this "training" meeting for my account to Monday. I answered "ok, but I might not be there, so someone will just have to fill me in when I come back in January." I have been working on this account since MARCH. They keep pushing back this "training" (I have never gotten complaints...why do I need trained now?), and my last day is next Tuesday. So. Sorry, fuckers. I mean, I really hope they push it until October now, because I'm not going to remember any of this when I come back.

Ditto PPs on the collection agency/payment plan thing. To protect you from a default judgment (at least what it's called in Louisiana), file an Answer that contains a general denial of all allegations. You can go paragraph by paragraph with a statement that you "denial all allegations contained in paragraph #" or you can state that you deny all allegations contained in the complaint. If you get a judgment, not only does it stay on your credit for years and eons like PPs mentioned, but you will be responsible for court costs, attorneys fees, and legal interest. All of that adds up like a bitch. Good luck and PM me if you would like more info.
**NOTE - I am only authorized to practice in Louisiana. For best advice, contact an attorney in your area**
Also note, I hate the caveats that come with my job.

I was saved from my tossed salad by FREEEEEEEE LUNCHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the drugs I worked on was granted an additional indication yesterday, and to celebrate there was champagne yesterday (yay for all the non-pregnant people!), bagels and fruit this morning, and lots of yummy sandwiches, salads, homemade potato chips and desserts. I was starving and may have consumed an entire falafel sandwich (sans bread), in addition to an Italian sandwich with hot peppers (missing half the bread, and now I'm feeling guilty because I forgot to heat it in my ravenous rage).
For once, I actually want moar foodd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ha, that's what I'm having for lunch. Big fan of the Pick Two combo with creamy tomato soup and mac n' cheese.
This is EXACTLY what I ordered for lunch today.

Am I the only person who has cleaning rags separate from wash cloths? This seems to be a foreign concept for my mom. I told her 5 times not to use my wash cloths in the bathroom for cleaning the bathroom that I would have DH get her some cleaning rags. But nope she used one of DS1's wash cloths to scrub the bath tub. Now I have to toss that wash cloth. I get its just a wash cloth but damn it, stop fucking wasting shit.
So I have to have a bra on all the time-even at night since my nips are so sensitive. All my comfy sleeping bras were either dirty or packed in my hospitol bag in our van. So I used my belly band as a bra. It was amazing. It almost felt like I just had a tight shirt on and none of that annoying bra stuff. I need more belly bands now.
@Syllessa I'll say it again you are so lucky to have a great relationship with your EX, I think it's great for you and him and of course the kids.
I am amazingly lucky. I do worry that it will change when he ends up with someone new, but he says if she's not cool w/ how we do things, then she isn't right for him. I hope he ends up with someone I get along with as well as he does with FI.
Has anyone else's family started a betting pool for baby's arrival? My SIL just sent me a spreadsheet...
Not yet but FI and I have a $100 bet on the sex of the baby. all in good fun, and the money will go towards LO's college fund no matter who wins. FI is insistent that LO is a boy!

Nope. I have separate cleaning rags too. DH was baffled by this concept when we got married.
@golfingdarwinfish Sorry, not sorry about the oreos. I'm glad you got free lunch though!
@golfingdarwinfish I knew we were in the window but I didn't know until they called me this morning that I was going in tomorrow. DH is like "thanks for all the advance notice" but I mean we have almost 24 hours of notice so I am not complaining.
It did freak me out. I knew this was coming but it still made me cry because (holy shit, I am actually having a baby!)
And how awesome for you to get the free food. Free food is my favorite food!
For luch I am eating my last peanut butter sandwich for a long ass time. It has been my staple go to lunch for three months and I am over it!

I tried to sleep w/o a bra last night, then FI rolled against me and pinned my nipple to the bed with his elbow. OMG the pain!!
So every morning when I wake up for the last week or so, my hands and feet are sore. I'm guessing it's from the swelling? I don't have any other issues, really. BP is low (110/70 yesterday), no swelling in my face. Just saw the doc yesterday and completely forgot to ask her about it, of course. Anybody else experiencing this?
I've been having mad pregnancy carpal tunnel. It's very uncomfortable. I never had issues before pregnancy so I'm really excited because they say it goes away after delivery. My feet do get sore from swelling, too.
Fucking notch opposing counsel just emailed me and called me Jessica. WTF, my name is in my fucking email and it's not like we JUST met... this case has been going for over a year now. Fuck right the hell off.
(Yes, I realize this is a stupid thing to get so ragey over.)

My sausage fingers are soar during the day and I've noticed that my arms and hands fall asleep easier during the night. I attribute both to swelling. Of course, this is sound medical advice
ETA: Just saw my typo. Sore, not soar. My fingers are not flying.

So I've had this pain at the top of my abdomen for the past week or so. It feels like an internal bruise, tender to the touch but no discoloration visible on the outside. It's at the very top of my bump, right at the bottom of my ribcage and slightly on the right side. It freaking hurts! Do you think it could be from LO kicking me?
So update on this ^^^ ... The nurse spoke with the OB in office and said that because the pain isn't accompanied by any other symptoms (headache, nausea, vomiting), it's likely a muscular ache caused by baby's position and/or kicking. They're having me come in to see my doctor tomorrow anyway just to be extra cautious, but it doesn't seem to be a big concern at the moment. I was told just to keep an eye on the pain to see if it worsens or if I have any other symptom changes. To the other ladies experiencing this: if you have any other symptoms accompanying the pain (especially headaches), you should call your OB asap!
Awkward work baby shower in T- 45 mins... and what's worse is the person who typically buys the group gifts had a death in her husband's family recently and didn't have a chance to purchase anything besides a gift card (completely understandable and I'm beyond grateful) but cue awkwardness x 100 when I open the one gift card and commence to stare at these people for an hour... ugh, as if this thing couldn't get anymore uncomfortable!

@lrobi13, yay to no more peanut butter sandwiches for lunch. I am looking forward to not having to test my blood sugars once I have LO next week.
I didn't get to join the butt swab club either. Only vag swab.
Today at work we are having a nacho bar for the whole building. Basically I get to sit in a comfy leather chair and eat nachos for an hour and a half. I get a pass on most of the socializing because I'm pregnant. I'm not complaining.
Wow lots going on 9 pages before noon (pacific time, of course). Pregnancy the good, the bad and the ugly.
The ugly, cried three times in the last week because my face is looks like Mr. Potato Head. Am avoiding all photography, don't care if I miss out on these "cherished moments." Because cherishing this last month is well bull shit.
The bad, well not that bad, just disappointing is that I have not dilated at all at 37 weeks. Dr says that is common but I was hoping this baby was just as impatient as I am.
The good, because the dr. couldn't tell if he flipped she did do an impromptu ultrasound...which was awesome! I got to see his GIANT head which has quite a bit of hair and his chubby legs, he luckily has flipped so that is good.
Also, last 2 days of work until I start maternity leave, thank God! I was trying to hold out another week but putting and keeping pants on, sitting at a desk and focusing in general is just way to difficult.
Hope you all have a great day...all this McDonalds talk makes me want french fries on my lunch break! Will have to get some today.
I am so tired today. I am in the office even though I am not supposed to be. My boss told me not to feel obligated to be here. I should just go home. Soon
I am also concerned that LO has flipped. He or She has been head down in the perfect position for WEEKS. Now I feel like he/she is sitting at the top of my stomach and I was feeling hiccups on the side of my belly this morning and not down low where the baby normally seems to sit. I could be over thinking this. I have a US on Friday so we will see.

I really just want a glass of wine and some sleep
Same exact thing!!! I am feeling hiccups as if she's transverse now! Or I'm just a crazy notch.
Also, who said fingers hurt? Mine hurt so bad in morning I can't even make a fist!
I thought for sure I was going crazy and just feeling the hiccups all over, but I am positive they were on my upper left side this morning and not down low. this makes me sad. I hope baby didn't flip!!! I know he or she could flip back, but man
@Wino411 that does sound awkward. Hopefully it won't be too bad!
Thank goodness it wasn't awful! Only about 7 people showed up. Thankfully it was the 7 social people in our group. So we just sat around talking and eating cake for about 30 mins. I opened the one card with the gift cards and someone else bought a present so that took all of 5 seconds lol. So much better than I expected, thank God!

We have a quiet day so DH decided to take me to Cheesecake Factory... Fabulous. On the way I have my first timetable contractions, 15 min apart. Whatever, could last weeks right?
By the time we get home were to under 7 minutes but they don't hurt! It's just there... This can't be labor. It's too easy. Why don't babies come with little timers?!? This is just confusing.

My first contractions were only about 10 minutes apart but they weren't painful. I managed to sleep for about 4 hours before they woke me up. Even then they were more uncomfortable than painful. So you never know! Are you near your due date??
Edit: spelling
This would be 2.5 weeks early, so not crazy early just not expected. I think I'm just going to not run my errands and see what happens for an hour or two. I'm trying not to get my hopes up.

Seriously......Monday I was having painful contractions 2-3 minutes apart for 3 hours, and NOTHING was happening, only 1 CM dialated, and eventually the contractions slowed and stopped. Total BS
I completely agree! I'm actually worried I'll want to bombard them with too many questions and they'll be all like GTFO. ;;)
I also agree whole-heartedly with this! @Emerald27 and @theresat858 thank you in advance for putting up with all of the questions we'll be throwing your way. You guys are like the wise breastfeedbing monks who should have a special tower for us to drop off gifts at.
Me too. They need boobie badges for their knowledge.
I also was really relieved to see that the statistic for moms who truly cannot breastfeed was MUCH lower than I thought (1-5% or something--I just read it, obviously I need this to be a sticky since I immediately forget). You just hear all the TIME about women who just COULDN'T, and that scared me. Now, I think they likely didn't have the information they needed to be sucessful, and that's sad.
