SH Subchorionic hemorrhage

The doctor called me today to let me know my thyroid is not functioning and I have two Subchorionic hemorrhages between my uterus and my placenta. This is my 4th pregnancy my last 3 were perfectly healthy with no problems, and I am 10 weeks... Two questions 1 is there anyone out there on synthroid?? Anything I should expect??? 2. Anyone out there who has experienced a SH?? How did it end?? Good or bad I can handle it.. I'm an RN and have done a lot of looking it up today. I did not find much on what people experienced from it. I'm just a realist and want to know more of what to expect. I go for another sono in 2 weeks..

I am on Synthroid for preexisting hypothyroidism prior to pregnancy. It's fine, easy, just have to stay on top of your levels and have Meds adjusted accordingly. The Med levels take about 8 weeks to settle.

My friend who is 28 weeks or so had two SHes early on and just had them monitored closely and she was fine.

Hi, I'm a nurse too and I'm on synthroid since my previous pregnancy last fall (miscarriage). What does "not functioning" mean exactly? Do you know what your TSH level was? My TSH was quite high, like 7 or some crazy thing, but I still only needed the lowest dose of synthroid. I have been on it ever since though. Synthroid is minimally intrusive. I've had no side effects, but I did not notice any remarkable change in my hypothyroidism symptoms. The worst part about it is taking it first thing in the morning and waiting a half hour to eat. I'm the kinda girl who rolls outta bed and has a coffee, so now I take synthroid as soon as I wake up and then lay in bed and check my emails or FB or something until I can I can eat.

As far as your SH, I've never had one, but having had plenty of fertility struggles and the awful ordeal of a missed miscarriage (not to scare you, very rare.) but my advice would be to try (as hard as it is) not to worry and to take it as it comes. DO NOT RESEARCH SO DAMN MUCH! I mean this nurse to nurse. Our tendency to educate ourselves becomes harmful when you start looking for answers where there may not be any and when those answers are irrelevant because no amount of information will make this within our control.

I had a SCH with my first pregnancy. I had about 3 days of spotting and then it and within a few weeks it had dissapeared. You'll probably just end up with more ultrasounds. If you do start spotting try not to worry too much, and I would recommend calling your OB and not going to the E.R. They didn't know anything about SCH at my E.R. and misdiagnosed me with a threatened miscarriage, which worried us for no reason.

I have no experience with synthroid, but I did have 2 small SCH's that caused some bleeding so far this pregnancy. By the time I went to my last RE appointment just shy of 10 weeks, 1 had totally resolved itself and the other was barely there anymore. About they only thing they told us was refrain from sex and no running. Since then I have had no issues and am running again. They can be scary and just hearing the words "sub chorionic hemorrhage " is scary enough.

I have a SCH currently. I am 11 weeks and the SCH is measuring 4.2 cm (the size of a gold ball). I passed some huge clots (the size of my palm) and bled for two weeks! I have has numerous ultrasounds and actually have another tomorrow. My OB put me on pelvic rest and limited lifting to 10 pounds. He told me there are three scenarios that can occur: 1. Nothing, the SCH stays and is there throughout the pregnancy but has no effect. 2. The SCH will dissolve, obviously have no effect on the pregnancy and 3. The SCH can continue to grow and push against the fetal sac, causing a miscarriage.
I know that this has caused me such nervousness and anxiety. I will certainly be thinking of you!

I've been on Synthroid for going on 5 years now. Before I started taking it I was so sick and they were looking at a few options of what could be wrong. My TSH levels were pushing 15. It took a really long time to get to a good level and a pretty high dosage of the meds. Since then I've been like a different person, I finally feel good. When we found out we were expecting my OB sent me immediately back to my doctor as the pregnancy can mess with your TSH levels the further along you become.

What they have both told me is that as long as you remember to take your pill everyday and as long as we watch the levels closely, it will be completely fine for me and the baby. It sounds scarier then it is, try to avoid Google on this one, it will just make you more upset.

I have a small SCH, and the doctor put me on no restrictions, just "don't overdo it." I have more ultrasounds, which is nice because we get to see the babe more often.

The baby is growing and looking great, and the doctor said they're very common and doesn't seem concerned at all. The chance of them causing problems is very small. I know two others who have had SCHs (one had one, the other had two) who went on to have healthy babies. I try to stay away from Dr. Google and just know that my doctor will tell me if I should be concerned. Hope this helps!

Thanks for all the replies!!! To answer a few questions.. I'm not sure what my tsh levels are yet the office medical assistant called and said your thyroid is not working... I was not started on the lowest dose though... Was started on .5 mg.. I'm not to worried about the thyroid.. Just any unwanted side effects... As far as the SH I was looking to see of any side effects from it... I've had cramping but no bleeding.. Thank you all for the replies

I currently have a SCH and have been bleeding/spotting since 6 weeks along. Mine is shrinking and my OB said there isn't an active bleed anymore. Thoughts and prayers to you.
