ER ultrasound

So after a higher stress day at school and a meeting after school with a nasty teacher I've been dealing with, I have major pressure and cramping. So I called the dr after school and they told me to come in right away, even though I have my "first complete" appointment tomorrow. I had an ultrasound a couple weeks ago because I've had a miscarriage, so they want to make sure baby is growing appropriately. So the ultrasound went great! Baby is growing and the heart best was 188 bmp. That made me feel better. But the dr said to avoid stress because that in itself can cause distress and miscarry. Yikes?! So my first thought is .... umm... do you not know where I work?! LOL Avoiding stress is like not peeing all day. LOL so I went back to school and told my principal that I need to take it easy.

Re: ER ultrasound

  • Glad to hear all is well! Yea, taking it easy is much easier said than done, but try to keep your mind busy with other things.

  • I work in a high stress environment as well. Not a school, but it publication, so we have crazy deadlines, and need it now and types of shenanigans. But I'm trying to take it after a misdiagnosis, and the babies heart beat was 190/193. She did a heart beat check twice. I feel better but am having a hard time not being stressed. I just take it one day at a time, and in the evenings I make sure I'm super relaxed and have time just for me.
  • I'm glad everything turned out okay and the ultrasound looked good!

I'm also a teacher and I understand the stress that every day brings. There are different needs of students, and things change every day so I too am somewhat stressed during the work day. I try to make sure to take mini breaks during class to drink water, eat a cracker, breathe! while the kids work on something for a few minutes. Also, after school I relax and make sure to get to bed early! Good luck!
