Rash starting to form on arms

edited September 2014 in April 2015 Moms
Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen? I noticed tonight I'm starting to get a small rash on both my arms! I haven't changed anything I've eaten since it's not much from my MS or changed lotions, so it's a little strange? If anyone else has had this anything work to help the itching besides the hydrocortisone cream?

Re: Rash starting to form on arms

  • I have a pretty painful rash under my armpits. :/

  • I have a rash on the inside of my elbows (what is that body part called?). I've had it before and I can't remember if it is always when I am pregnant. It's always in the same spot and never spreads.

  • We go through so many body changes. Dry skin is one of them. I've had little patches on my arms. I've used cream more than normal and it's been fine. Maybe mentioned it at your next appointment if it's still there.
  • Oy. I'll add this to the list I'm making of things no one mentions may happen when you're pregnant. Also added this week: skin tags. Fun fun fun!

I have it on my chest right below my breasts to the top of my stomach. It developed around 5 weeks.
Edit: my rash does not itch.
  • Mine is on my legs and tummy.
  • Rash then itch! I moisturize everyday
But will be picking up something for extreme dry skin as I'm thinking it could be just that! Ah all these changes I don't even know what to do with myself :/ hahha
  • Just adding to the PUPPS possibility...I had never even heard of it until I developed it AFTER I had my first. Which I also didn't find many cases of after I found out what it was. My doc said it can develop anytime throughout (or just after) pregnancy and usually won't disappear until your hormones level back out.

I hope that isn't what your rash is since it's still so early! On a positive note, maybe it's not since typically PUPPS develops on your abdomen first then spreads. If it turns out to be I have a few remedies you could try, I think I attempted everything out there!
  • I have a rash on my entire next. The doc told me to apply benedryl lotion. It only itches sometimes which is rare. I want it to go away!
  • Had something similar the first time around...scaly patches on my arms. Doc said it was normal, something could be irritating your skin like a fabric softener or detergent.

That's exactly what I woke up to this morning. I have a rash under my right breast. Doesn't itch.

  • I get seborrheic dermatitis while pregnant. Hormonal changes wreak havoc with skin. Talk to the doc and if they have no clue, call a dermatologist, especially if it's not getting better. I waited until 4months postpartum and could have killed myself when the cream they gave me stopped the itching overnight.
