GTKY! Job titles?

Hey ladies! Sitting here bored at work because since I became pregnant I'm not allowed to do anything but sit in my car and listen to music.
Was curious as to what everyone else did for work and what they wished they did?!
I am in the army.
But my dream job is to be a Vet Tech for big animals, like horses and such.

I'm an Elementary School Counselor. The students I work with are 10-13 years old. I love my job!

If I could do anything I would love to be a successful, published novelist. I love writing and reading. I've had a few small things printed in magazine contests and such but nothing I could make a living from.

What I wish I did: Lactation Consultant!
I'd love, love, love to be a LC!

Up until recently I was a pharmacist in a long-term care setting.  Now I stay home.
  • I was an interior designer with a really small firm, worked from home it was great.  EXCEPT I only got paid as projects were completed, which was fine, but then felt like I was getting taken advantage of.  I'm still waiting on a check for a project... So I told them I was tired of being  basically a secretary and would gladly work for what they hired me for.  So, I went and applied for a decorator job with Sherwin Williams, but then found out I was pregnant... paint fumes aren't exactly something I want to be around with that.  But I suppose it works out because I really want to be a stay at home mom.

  • I'm a SAHM now but still have my license current as a Speech Pathologist.  I plan on going back to work at some point after I'm done having babies.  It was my dream job, but I think when I go back I'd like to work for a private clinic rather than a public school.
  • At the moment, I have 3 part time jobs.  I'm a property manager for a small apartment complex, I clean homes, and I design websites and social media sites for local small businesses.

Dream Job:  I would love to be a professional photographer and/or event coordinator...  Do a little of both of these on the side when I'm needed, but would love to make a career out of either of them.

  • I'm a Business Banking Consultant. I broke free from the commercial banking world two years ago and now work with companies looking for bank financing. It's allowed a lifestyle where I can stay at home and start our family - with our big rescue bird dog as the first addition! It's been an ideal transition, leveraging the highest value use of my corporate skill set while still allowing me a couple of additional days mid-week to ride horses and enjoy running our household. I joke that I won life :)
  • I am an attorney.

At the doctor's office this morning, I leaned over to DH and told him that I wish I did any job that allowed me to wear scrubs every day :D  (although, my office is pretty laid back and I'm in business casual-ish clothes unless I have to go to court, so it isn't that awful)

  • I am a lab technician in a private quality control lab. Left clinical environment about 5 years ago and don't miss it one bit! I love the lab, I don't love sick people, so this is perfect.

Aside from this my other dream would be to work as an editor for a publisher. Who wouldn't want first crack at all those books?!?

  • I'm a Financial Analyst.

My deam job is to have my own travel show like Rick Steves. Yup, I watch PBS.

@zoeysims My SIL is an RVT and she loves her job. :) I hope you get to do it one day!

  • I am a guidance counselor which I really do enjoy.

I wish I stuck with being a Vet. I changed majors my 2nd year of college.  Damn you Genetics class that ruined my life!!!!!

  • I'm the Brand Manager for a photographic lighting company. I love most parts of my job, most days.

My dream job is to work as a marketing consultant from home. Still get to do what I love, but without that pesky "going to the office every day" bit.
  • I'm an interior designer for a furniture store. It's fun to work with clients who never thought they'd have a designer working with them compared to past clients I feel like they appreciate my work a little more.

I would love to do more decorating for holidays or event planning
  • I am a loan processor for a credit union. I really do enjoy what I do, and there are a lot of opportunities at my particular credit union.

  • I'm a market research coder.  Mind numbingly boring.  But I work full-time from home, have a steady paycheck with benefits, and can (somewhat) make my own hours.  I only have part-time help with my 3.5 yo DD (preschool and a sitter) so I work at insane times to finish my hours - but it makes me sort of get to be a SAHM in a way too.  The fact that I can work in my PJs doesn't hurt.

In a former life, I was an actor/singer.  Miss it.  A lot.  Hope to be able to go back to it in some form or another once my babies aren't babies anymore.
  • I'm a Finance Director at a non-profit.  I tried the corporate world for awhile but would rather use my skills helping our company grow and help people rather than meeting a quota.  I love it. They also let me stay on and I work from home with occasional trips to the West coast.

Dream job: Open a little cafe.  Currently the hubs has 8 years left in service and then we can focus on it.  :)

I am jealous of all the crafty people - the extent of my crafting ability is purchasing it from Etsy.

  • I'm an administrative assistant/secretary at a Wastewater Plant. Yeah, it's that smelly, but you get strangely used to it. I don't even smell it anymore. It's a great job, great benefits and all that. Dream job? Something with animals. Small farm and SAHM probably.

Senior Tax Associate. I know you are all super jealous. Who doesn't dream of doing taxes all day? I work for a fortune 400 pharmaceutical company that truly doesn't have their shit together AT ALL.

My dream job... Pretty much any other job lol. I would love to do something with interior design or own my own bridal dress boutique. Still trying to figure it out but someday soon I hope to at least do something I like!
  • I'm a leasing manager for a huge apartment complex. I love it as I work with a great staff. It's definitely never a dull day!

I wish I had my own restaurant/bakery/craft joint! One day...one day...

I am a vet tech! My title is Research Specialist but basically I am a vet tech that gets to work with monkeys! I sort of wonder what would have happened if I had went to vet school (I never re-applied because I love being a tech which is so much more hands on with the animals than a vet), but I love my job. It does suck (meaning it is stressful) at times because I actually have studies to run and research to do so I can't play with the animals all day, but working with them is rewarding. I do wish however that I would get paid what I do to just work in a more relaxing small animal hospital.

Title I Math teacher.  I recently got my Masters and I'm not sure where I want to go next.  If I ever do leave the classroom it would either to become a district instructional coach or a curriculum director.
ETA: I have also investigated the possibility of being a consultant for a publishing company (Houghton-Mifflin) doing trainings for districts/schools.  I still haven't ruled it out, but with a little one on the way, the travel that it requires would be too much right now.

If I weren't teaching, I probably would have gone into some sort of science field-most likely related to biology such as marine biology or Genetics.  DH thinks I should go back to school to become a neonatologist (which obstetrics, neonatal, and pediatric care are of great interest to me), but I would never want a job that holds the life of others' babies.  I just don't have the strength for that.  Teaching is as close as I'll get.
Event planner would be another one-particularly weddings.  But I'm not sure that I'd be a good fit for dealings with bridezillas.

I'm a Senior Account Executive for a large fashion watch company. I work in the Travel Retail Division. I manage all duty free sales into North & Latin American Airports.

I love my job and the company I work for; however, I'm frustrated with all the structural changes lately. I've been with the company 9 years and I've spent the last 2 years in limbo. I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel.

My dream job? I don't know anymore. I always wanted to open my own clothing store but now I'm jaded. I've seen stores open and close countless times over the last 9 years with my job. Stores that are owned and operated by billion $ companies. If they can't succeed, how could I.

Excuse my negativity, it's been a shitty day (:|

  • Until about 18 months ago I worked in Higher Education.  I was the Associate Dean of Students (aka did all discipline, housing, etc.)  yup I was the person you had to come see when you got busted drinking.

About a year ago I started working part time for a friend doing sales and marketing (my actual title is Director of Business Development).  I make my own hours and generally my own travel schedule which is nice.  Ill work from home for a while once the baby comes.

I have no idea what my dream job would be -- clearly my career path is all over the place.
