So at about 3:40 am (an hour and a half ago) I woke up, don't know why, and felt this "pop" in my lower pelvis. It was definitely stronger than a kick, unless I'm carrying the next Beckham which I'm fairly certain I am not. Anyway, i went to get out of bed and immediately felt a huge gush. Definitely a different feeling from peeing. Had several more huge gushes. Called the doc and he told me to go back to bed and try and get some rest, and then head over to the hospital around 7:00 am. I was scheduled for a c-section on 9/30 because this boy is breech - and I think he still was as of last night. My stomach definitely looks different than it did last night so don't know if he flipped or dropped or both. I do know that there's no way I'm going back to bed. Took a shower, straightened my hair, washed a few dishes leftover from last night, double checked my bag, and now I'm just hanging out with my cat who seems to know something is up. SO is in the bedroom snoring and I'm going to let him since he had a hard time falling asleep last night anyway. I'll give him another hour. I just hope contractions don't get bad, because if I must have a c, I don't want labor pain too! Will keep you all posted!
@update@@ we are all fine. Baby was born via c section ( he didn't flip and contractions came quick and strong, but only 1 cm dilated). I labored for about 3 hours before having the c. This hospital administers amazing pain killers - I feel really comfortable right now. So baby's name is Mason, 6lbs, 7 ozs. No lenghr her as breech babies need a day or two to stretch their legs out (who knew??). Thank you all for the warm wishes and I will attempt to post pics.
I will say to you other moms who might have to have a c-section, despite wanting or planning for a vaginal birth (that was me). It was not a bad experience at all. They take such good care of you, and do all kinds of tests to make sure you aren't feeling a thing before they get started on retrieving the baby. I had do many fears, and I want you all to know my experience was very positive. Just bring your baby into the world in whatever way baby chooses. Good luck.
Oh and mesh panties are fantastic! So comfy!
And he was 38w2d. 6lbs 7 ozs
Re: My water broke - having this baby today! Update in op
@Kaylajade8911 my hospital says call when water breaks and they will assess on the phone and tell you when to come in. So it sounds like a reasonable call to me.
@Kaylajade8911 If my water breaks, I don't have to go to the hospital, but my contractions DO have to start within 12 hours or they induce with pitocin to prevent infection. Every practitioner and hospital will have their own policy on this.
