My kids are fighting, I woke up with a fever blister, and I am SO DONE with heart palpitations. I never remember having this big of a problem in pregnancy before. Every dang time I eat I get them afterwards. It's exhausting, and now I always get a headache too. Glad I see the doctor on Thursday. On a positive note, my ultrasound is also on Thursday...I'm a broken record, but it will be my first ultrasound yet this pregnancy and I just can't wait! Also I'm feeling the baby move all the time. So while heart palpitations suck, eating wakes the baby up. So yay for that! And my kids may be fighting, but the (homeschool) school day is humming along just fine because they are getting their school work done (for the most part). Is it Thursday yet??
Cleaned out my car on Saturday because I'm trading it in this week for a new one (yay!) and when I popped my hood to get out the leaves and twigs and stuff, I found a snail. Wtf??
so theres a girl on my fb wh ive known since elementary school.
anyways she keepsbsharing she has a gofundme account.
so apparently ots for het wedding. shes wanting to raise $20,000 for her weddin only by donations.
her reason for it being its a lesbian wedding so they need more money so they can travel to a state that allows gay marriage.
how about this pay for your own goddamn wedding whether its lesbian or straight and quit whoring out a donation account.

So i pick my dd up from school and by the time we get to the car ive noticed she is up to something sneaky. Long story short she took 2 things out of the treasure (reward) box at preschool instead of 1. Had i realized before wed left the building id have drug her ass back to her classroom immediately. I confiscated both items and we had a long talk about stealing and lying. She cried the entire way home (20 minute drive). I then made her explain what she did to daddy and she cried another 10 minutes. I also told her first thing Wednesday that she had to take the prize back to her teacher and explain what she did and apologize. I'm not looking forward to Wednesday.
So after i calmed her down i went into the bathroom and cried myself. I hate that she was that upset and worked up but the lesson had to be taught. Ughhh i feel like a bad mommy. I know what i did was right but i hate her being that upset, i wanna throw up.

Sorry for you mamas feeling crappy today. Hope you feel better soon.
@kefttsc As PPs have said, ignore those rude comments! The names you picked are perfect. My SIL was really Southern about our name choices for our girls, calling them "unique" but really meaning she didn't personally like them. Didn't bother me since she was polite about it. People can be so weird about names!
@sugahcookie01 Grading was always the bane of my existence when I was a teacher. It was so hard to get motivated, especially during football season! Hope you get it done and can relax!
Had the strangest pregnancy dream yet. I started out in Dallas, somehow was in Chicago, and ended up in Atlanta. DH and I were attending the same law school, but I needed to skip some classes to go to the doc (I was pregnant in the dream). The doctor I saw in Chicago was an actor from a movie we'd just watched, and he told me I needed to use a wheelchair from now on and take anti-contraction meds...at 17 weeks. DH got really mad in the dream and told the doc that my OB in Dallas would beg to differ. He shrugged and said he needed to see me the next Friday, but we would have to travel back to Chicago for the appt so DH got mad about that, too. It was really bizarre. Then we were in Atlanta in my brother's new house, but we've never been there yet.
A girl named Harper is wayyyyy too cool to settle for being called Abby.
Trying not to be offended over here!
(...says an Abby)
LOL!!!! I have tons of friends named Abby, including one that we announced it to this weekend. Abby is a fine name, but not my style!
Ha, no worries at all -- as I noted before, I love my name (which is actually Abigail), but I absolutely understand that it's not everyone's style, and frankly, while I like it a lot, I'm not sure I'd give it to my own daughter if it wasn't my own name anyway.
Just felt I had to speak up for my name a little!

Awww well it sounds like you dealt with it great. Hopefully she will remember being this upset and it will stop her from being dishonest again! Hugs mama! Ella kind of just repeats what I say in a sing-song voice and runs off to play when she is scolded. Sigh!
Random question that the shower thread made me think of - Family was in town this weekend. They brought me a few maternity clothes. I opened the gift, but did not try them on while they were there. I did smile and thank them a few times.
Is that rude?
To be perfectly honest, I don't think that the shirts are my taste, plus I think the pants are going to be too small. But I did not say, nor did I even hint this.
Definitely not rude! SIL got me some maternity clothes for Xmas two years ago, and I thanked her. The shirt was super cute, but I didn't get much use out of the workout outfit. She did include a receipt so I could exchange/return. Did your family do so?
@HerHighness -- you did well. This past weekend at the Target parking lot, I overheard a couple talking about a toy in their ~4 yo kid's hand that wasn't paid for. They actually decided to go to the car and be dishonest cos "Oh well, we already got out of the store, free toy!". It irked me they didn't attempt to teach their kid stealing is not right.
@CrazyCornball yeah that was my thought today during the hour that she fought sleep and played in her crib. If I knew she wasn't going down until later I could have done something this morning! It's just hard in this transition save because I don't know when she's tired. I think I'm just going to aim for getting her down to sleep at 12 every day and plan around that.
The transition is definitely the hardest. Some days they need two, other days they need one. Once she moved to the class in daycare where they have one nap, though, it really helped me finalize a schedule at home.
Almost 2:00 and she still hasn't napped. I laid her down at 10:30, she played and talked until 11:30, was quiet for maybe 15 minutes, then crying again. She's back in her crib now alternating between saying "momomomomomaa", crying, and giggling. WTF, kid.

The worst day of my life... I was about 6 and went to a little shop with my mom. I really wanted gum but she told me no so I stole it.
The worst thing ever was having to go back to the store, (to pay for the gum) and tell the store merchant what I had did.
I was mortified and so ashamed and will never ever forget that day. My lesson was learned. (and I got a spanking for it too.) I am a daddys girl, and the look of disappointment on his face when I had to tell him what I did. I swear Ive never been so devastated and upset with myself in my life.
You are doing the right thing.

HOLY SHIT @thegoodpotato is that your view? WOWZA. That's amazing. I have porch envy.
Thanks @kefttsc - It is, indeed our view. Our house is in a prime location where our town has a "cliff" over downtown. The whole town is on the side of a mountain. The house was built in 1951, so the house itself isn't that stellar (it's tiny, and needs a LOT of work), but the location (dead end, 1/2 block to school, walking distance to everywhere) leaves nothing to be desired.
Unfortunately, there was a 4-story house built on the 1/4 lot below us (it was built in the early 90's, so long before we owned the house), so their top story blocks a portion of our view. Or we would have 180 degrees of ocean view. We've got a nice little sheltered harbour in town here, and we look south at Washington State. We can see Mount Baker in the distance on a clear day.
@keistinmtbell hindsight is a bitch.

OMG that's the Henry school of napping! They must of gotten together and conspired against us! We went to atlantic city over the weekend for my MIL's 60th birthday and my child refused to nap in the hotel. NOT ONCE. He did however nap at the Hard Rock Cafe..cause you know, its such a serene environment there.
@HailsMom Dh & I were watching football yesterday, and suddenly he looked at me was like "Oh shit, Im gonna be somebodys dad... Im not ready" ... he was so hysterical that you couldnt help but laugh.

@herhighness I mean, I have no kids yet, but it sounds to me like you were a great mom and did a perfect job! I genuinely can't think of a better way to handle that. While reading it, I was actually thinking "I am so glad we have great experienced moms here, because they're going to be really helpful with parenting questions."
Wahh. I just ordered 4 dresses from ASOS that I've been drooling over- 2 formal ones for weddings, holiday parties, and a christening I have coming up in the next few months, and 2 more casual ones for cocktail parties, bridal showers, and rehearsal dinners I have coming up. But now I feel like the flood gates are open and all I want to do is shop more.
I took the day off from work today to not spread my cold to the rest of my coworkers, especially my pregnant coworker who just got over a throat infection. It was actually nice not to do anything today and I'm finally not sneezing and hacking everywhere. Trying my best to keep it from settling in my sinuses and I really wish I could take some sudafed.
I'm trying to get a straight answer from our complex's management office on whether or not we can keep a tent on our balcony (it's housing our bikes so they don't get stolen or clutter up the apartment). Someone complained to one of the maintenance guys about it and he told us, and they left a nasty note in the elevator that our tent was violating "house rules". They have not filed a complaint with the management office or come to talk to us in person. The thing is, I've looked through the lease and the "house rules" and there's nothing about storing things on the balcony. There are also plenty of apartments with things under tarps or exercise equipment on their balconies and all the smokers are violating their leases by smoking on their balconies. DH thinks they're just being bitchy about the way it looks, so we may just get a sunscreen for the balcony and otherwise disguise the tent so it's not so noticeable.
I just wish if people had a problem, they'd file a formal complaint or come talk to us in person. The note in the elevator just feels ridiculous.
@seamonster I was told by my doc when I got sick last pregnancy I could take sudafed (just not like multi symptom things like nyquil). It was just straight up pseudoephedrine. If your doctor told you not to take it by all means don't, but I would check with them if you weren't explicitly told by your doctor not to take it. Hope you feel better!
