Pain in Sciatic region

Is this labor related or pre-labor related? I have a dull achey pain that gets worse then tapers off and gets worse again. This started last night with an awful pain that went from my lady bits and back down my leg to my knee.

  • I have been having this too the last week or so. It radiates across my back, down my private area and all the way down the back of my leg down past my knee. I thought it was from just the way the baby was laying on a nerve or something. It is very painful and at times takes my breathe away. I try stretching my legs sometimes and this seems to help.
  • It's pregnancy related, but not really labor related.

  • Doesn't sound labor related to me. I also have been having pain in waves from baby pressing down there, but it means nothing in regards to when she will be born.

  • Thank you for tellin me , I've heard of back labor starting with sciatic pain that's why I was curious

Sciatic pain is normal during pregnancy. Not every bit of back pain is related to labor.

It's going to be a long 4-6 weeks...

I may just live in the randoms thread until november.

It's where I've been for the last month. No regrets.

  • Very common especially in the third trimester. It can continue to 3 months after birth :( It's called posterior pelvic pain. Sitting up or bending at the waist is the biggest culprit. The only advise I received was to lay down for awhile and rest.... Not much else. Unfortunately, I also have had sacroiliac-joint-dysfunction for 13 years, which is this same pain all the time :(
  • If you feel comfortable going for a massage or the chiropractor, it might encourage LO to GTFO your nerve. It helped me somewhat. :)
