Anyone else a mil wife?

Re: Anyone else a mil wife?

  • @ash10rombough‌ sorry this is so late, had some connection problems all day! Anyway everyone I talked to got either "dude you're gonna be a dad!" Or "the new dad's survival guide: man to man advice for first time fathers."

  • Thank you so much @mollymsalyers‌ and @qsb Seattle does suck super bad with that kind of stuff! We are stationed in Whidbey Island at the air base there and everything is antimilitary around us. People even complain that the jet noises are destroying their ears and have tried taking the base to court. It's like, that's the sound of freedom people!
  • AF wife here (it feels weird to say that for whatever reason, lol), stationed at Cannon, 2nd baby, husband is deployed and won't be back for almost half a year. <3 </p>

My heart goes out to you. <3

  • AF wife. Hubby is going to Korea next month for a year, thank goodness he gets to be home for the birth and is saving his leave to stay even longer. This will be the second time he has been away, thank God for Skype!
  • I'm a navy wife I'm on my 3rd pregnancy this time he won't deploy but will be TAD a few times my frist he was there for but left for a month when she was two weeks then back for 2 week then gone for 6 months with my second one he was gone for the pregnancy and came back 3 weeks before I had him. It is hard on us wife's there's not much you can do to help him feel more involved send lots of pics to him and if he likes reading there's some great books out there but for the wife I would say getting a hobby is the best thing you can do it helps past the time I know it's hard I've been there

Is he going to Kunsan or Osan? When DH went to Kunsan, he was only allowed to take 30 days, didn't matter how much leave he had saved up. You can also go visit for 30 days as well, it's just really expensive because you have to pay for all tickets out of pocket, even on his mid-tour.

  • I'm a marine wife. My husband is currently deployed for 6-7 months. I found out I was pregnant two weeks after he left the country. I miss him every day but we get to talk about once a week so I'm thankful for that. I sent him the book "from dude to dad" in one of his care packages. He loved it!
  • I'm an army wife. My husband is away for 6 weeks too. Two weeks down! It's been much longer before so I feel quite lucky that it's 'only' 6 weeks this time! He just gets back for our first 13 week scan! :)
  • I won the military lotto I think, this is our first deployment (he's actually army natl guard and hasn't deployed ever, at least not out of country) and he will leave at 12/13 weeks to report and his fly out date is at 17 weeks. His return date is 1 month after birth. I am so stressed and scared (out first baby) but I'm supposed to keep my mouth shut and smile and support him. I know people do it all the time but I've never done it (or him!) and it sucks and he is being a big baby NOT helping me, not getting the deployment brief or any info completed. This sucks.
  • I'm AF wife, we are at Travis. He isn't suppose to leave as of this very moment but we will see if he gets to be here for everything.

  • I'm a Navy wife.  Luckily, no deployments planned until next Fall.  But work-ups and short trips are definitely a possibility around my DD.  I'm nervous!
  • Navy wife here!
  • Army wife here. Hubby goes on tdy for all of nov /: it's his first time going away since we got married. Better than a 6 month deployment though!! My heart is with all you mil wives/girlfriends/fiancées!
  • Marine wife! Hubs is stationed in another state. But it's our third and the last two he either deployed before the birth or right after. I pretty use to being alone just sucks at the moment with all these hormones.
  • @BabyIxolib‌ I am so sorry! Those dang deployments are no fun at all! My advice to you is to not super sugar coat it. Everyone says to keep your mouth shut and be extra nice, but sometimes that just doesn't work. You have to be truthful and tell him how you are feeling. There are a lot of emotions involved with pregnancy AND deployments and the docs on base will tell you to try and stay as stress free as possible. I don't know about you, but when I bottle it up I end up stessing out even more. My husband is on deployment until February and it's hard, but it's also nice to keep myself busy with baby news! Just try to keep yourself busy as much as you can but don't forget to relax and do a little pampering for yourself too!
  • Just thought I'd pop in! Hubby is AF and we are in Ramstein. Luckily there is no foreseeable deployments, although I know that can always change. This is our first and I'm 10+1 so kmfx if he deploys or goes TDY he'll at least be here for the birth! It can be hard to be so far from family and friends!
  • Navy wife :) husband deployed twice in less than 4 years but is on shore duty now for the next 2, feeling pretty lucky. Huge applause for the women doing this with deployed spouses
