It seems like a lot of you LOVE your rock n play. (I have another post about how my LO will not sleep flat.)
Anyways...we have a bouncer, traditional swing, and mamaroo (I know it's a lot of baby stuff but it's all been gifted second had to us.)
Would a RNP really be all that different from what we have? Should I run to the store tonight and get one because baby and I will suddenly be able to sleep??
Re: Sell me on a rock n play (for sleep)
We have had ours since our first son was born. We had him sleep in it for the first 2 months, but had such a hard time transitioning him to the crib.
With our second we had him nap in it only.
This time around same thing, he sleeps in his crib at night and in the RNP for naps. One thing I've done at night, if my son won't get to sleep, I put him in the RNP, once he's in a deep sleep I transfer him to his crib. He'll usually stay asleep in the crib. We haven't had to do this for a while though.
I've read things about how the RNP is not approved for sleep in Canada (they won't sell it there), and that some pediatricians don't think it's safe. Due to that, I'm hesitant in having DS sleep in it overnight.
I agree with the PP about having your baby sleep in different positions (sometimes in the crib, sometimes in the RNP, etc).

son#2 born 4/2012
son#3 born 7/2014
ETA so if you're LO sleeps well in the Mamaroo hopefully the RnP will work too! Also, I'm pretty sure someone posted the RnP are on sale at Walmart right now

I really like it and it's light weight and easy to move around.
Personally I don't think it's a magic baby device anymore than anything else, it's just another thing for your kid to sleep in (or not), some like it, some don't.

We've had it for four nights now and love it. I was actually thinking maybe she was just more mature and sleeping better but when I tried to have her sleep flat in the pack and play during a nap she woke up right away crying.
