I think probably pills--a friend of mine got pregnant while on her IUD--thankfully for her it was about four months before they were going to actually start trying, but still!
We use NFP, so I'll probably start charting my BBT when LO starts STTN or begins eating solids. Not easy or foolproof postpartum, but with DS, my fertility didn't return until 18mo postpartum, so I'm hoping this is just what my body does after babies. We'll see!
Pills until we ultimately decide if we are done having kids or not. If we do decide we are done we will start exploring more permanent options. I don't want to be on the hormones for forever.
I am getting my tubes tied. I am too old to do this again and the only way to make sure it doesn't happen again is for one or both of us to get fixed. I would ask H to get fixed but he makes in one week what I do in a month. So I don't want him taking off anymore time than he has to.
I'm also getting a tubal. Either me or DH was definitely getting some kind of permanent birth control after this baby, and since I'm having a c-sec, it makes more sense for me to have it done while they're in there.
@laurnldlw9 a friend of mine had mirena after both of her babies and didn't have a problem with milk supply at all....I had the same thing and no issues. But check with your OB to make sure!
I really don't want to go back on anything hormonal. I'd really like my husband to get a vasectomy. I guess I should probably bring that up at some point!
We are oddballs that just use condoms. I reacted strangely to all hormonal birth controls and honestly I hated the mess of TTC. kinda looking forward to having a plastic bag catch all the man goo <:-P

Us too...I will go back to tracking CM. It has worked great for us and I'm so glad to not use the pill.
I used to be on the daily pill but the hormones gave me raging headaches. So we just switched to condoms. We dont have sex enough to worry about an IUD or anything. :-<
Nothing! We're hoping for that miracle opps after spending thousands on fertility treatments to get baby number one. An opps is the only way we'll end up with a baby number two. If we get a number two we'll worry about birth control then.

I wish we could just go back to NFP, but we will probably go the condom route until I'm done breast feeding since it can be unpredictable right away. I became seriously depressed and crazy on the pill, so I'm not ready to mess with any hormones. DH can deal.
I am having a salpingectomy. Basically complete removal of the fallopian tubes. We are done having children and there is a family history of ovarian cancer.
Anyone ever tried the Nuvaring? I'm kind of curious about it. I have taken the pill before without problem, however I know how I can be and don't want to run the risk of forgetting a pill or 2 while taking care of a new baby. I am considering Mirena which is also a hormonal form of BC but I liked having a little more control or having the option to skip a "period" with the pill and that wouldn't be an option with Mirena. I'm also kind of a control freak and would always be worrying about an atopic pregnancy (sp?) or it coming or and me not knowing, etc. So this leads me to being slighty curious about Nuvaring...I'm wanting some feedback from anyone who has previous tried it?
i used nuvaring before TTC with my 1st and got pregnant the next month after stopping. I DON'T RECOMMEND BUT... i kept it in 25 days instead of 21 then waited a week before inserting the next so it was more in tune with my cycle when i didn't use anything. i usually did not remove it for sex and my DH said he could feel it at times but didin't seem bothered by it. directions say it can be out for up to 2 hrs so you could remove before sex if you know you'll be good about putting it back in- no snoozing after, ha ha! i do get monthly hormonal migraines when not pregnant and the nuvaring did not seem to make them worse or better.
i'll probably do the mini/pop pill while breastfeeding again and i'm pushing for DH to get a vasectomy but he's not flat out agreed to it yet.
ETA- i *think* you can use nuvaring 4weeks straight and then pop a new one in if you are going for only having fewer periods a yr. should be info on their website

It made me sick and my period was never on time with it. And although it says you can leave it in during sex that was impossible. I ended up with a blood clot from it too I wasn't a fan but I also have issues with hormonal bc. It brough up underlying gall bladder issues so id have attacks for a week straight before I was supposed to start my period, would take it out to start, halfway through the week get an extremely heavy period that wouldn't stop for over two weeks.
We do excluIsive breastfeeding and NFP only. It usually takes 2 yrs for me to start having my period again while I am nursing my baby so it works for us.

I'll do pills. I have ovarian cysts and my body adjusts to birth control randomly and my cysts start coming back so I have to change pills every so often. Plus I would like to have another baby somewhat soon after this one.
We are going to use condoms I guess (though I haven't discussed this with my husband). Maybe this is TMI, but we used the pull out method with calendar monitoring as our only method of birth control after we got married except for right after I had my d&c (pregnancy was intentional) and was told to wait 3 months before considering getting pregnant again. We used condoms during this time. I am completely against anything hormonal after having a really bad reaction to birth control about five years ago.
