Kids are a hoot! What have your toddlers/children said lately related to or about their new sibling or your pregnancy or babies in general?

Just this week, DS has started saying stuff like:
"My hips hurt, mommy. I need to rest." or "I need to take a break. My tummy hurts." ...little parrot. :P

I lay with DS in his bed until he falls asleep at night. My tummy presses against him pretty much always now, and baby kicks him in the back. DS always gasps and says; "Mommy!! I hear him! I hear him!" And then he rolls over and puts his tiny hands on my tummy to feel him kick. It's the sweetest thing ever.

Whenever DS sees a baby, he yells; "Look, mommy! That baby came out! The baby came out of your tummy!" I always say something like; "Do you see that baby's mommy snuggling him? He DID come out of HER tummy when he grew big enough. Little brother is still right here in mommy's tummy. He's not big enough to come out yet."

He also likes to list all the things he is going to do with baby brother. These include hold him, sing to him, teach him about diggers and bulldozers, and dump trucks, and trains...

My 2 1/2 YO has suddenly taken an interest in baldness. If we are out and he sees a bald man he very loudly asks "Mommy, why that man have no hair?" It's a little embarrassing!

Also, the other day I was cleaning out our closet and putting a bunch of our clothes in a bag. I told MH that these were to give away. DS looked like he was about to cry and says "Please don't give away my baby sisters clothes". I have no idea why he thought it was her stuff but it was so sweet to see how concerned he was!

My almost 5 year old keeps saying that he can't wait to hold her. He also says "Mom, she's going to be soooo tiny" in the cutest little baby voice, haha. If we are around any tiny babies, he has to let the mother of the baby know that his mommy is going to have one of those soon. (As if my giant bump wasn't indication enough, lol.)
My 2 year old pulls up my shirt and says "Awwwwh, baby sister!" He also kisses my stomach and says "I wuv you baby sister".
I love the things kids say and do, they make life so much more joyful.

I tell DD "mommy is going potty now". (Because she FLIPS out if she doesnt know where I went. )

She replies with "again!"

DS1 talks about LO ALL the time! He's always asking if she's kicking or has hiccups. He talks to her and rubs my belly. It's the sweetest!

Every night when I lay him down for bed (or anytime he is giving me a hug and kiss) he has to give me 2 hugs and 2 kisses and then remind me that one is for me and one is for the baby, and says "Mama I love you and I love the baby". Every single time. The other night he told me "when the baby comes out I will only give you one kiss and one hug, because I will give Violet her hug and kiss, but I still love you".

DD is 2.5yo and she doesn't really like interacting with the baby much. She rubs my belly and says "Hi Baby!" BUT today at Old Navy, we were in the bathroom and she plugs her nose and says, "Peeyewwwwski! What are you doing?" Thanks. Thanks, DD.

DS#1 has already started scolding his brother. We were snuggled up on the couch watching Daniel Tiger before bed when baby G started kicking. JJ turned around and shook his finger at my tummy and said 'kicking isn't nice Grayson, feet are NOT for kicking!' This is the lesson we've been trying to teach JJ for the last few months, nice to know it's sinking in?

DS#2 is absolutely facinated with my tummy. In the last couple of months he's become enamoured of showing off his 'tumtum' and 'bb button' to everyone, and now he wants to show mine too. If I'm sitting on the couch my stomach is no longer allowed to be covered, and must be constantly poked to make baby G move. Ouch!

I was just laying in bed and DS (2.5yo) asked me if the baby is gonna come out right now. I said, "no I hope not yet", he goes "oh, okay mommy".

Non baby related...
Earlier when I was getting out of the shower, DS came in the bathroom, looked at me deep in thought and asked me where my wiener was lol. We aren't modest around him by any means, but it was the first time he's asked that. I think it was just on his mind cuz he had just gotten done with his bath and was running around the house naked with his towel on like a cape (playing super hero).

She's only almost 15 months old so she doesnt get it but recently she's absolutely obsessed with belly buttons. She has to see everyone's and gets very upset if she's wearing a onesie and cant see her own.

So today she lifted my shirt to see mine, which surprisingly she hasnt done yet, and she got this very confused look on her face. It's poked out now so the poor thing must've been wondering why the heck mine was so different from everyone else's.

Unrelated thing that she's started to say is "Ohmagawsh!" She says it in different tones too. Excited, really drawn out or annoyed.

My Ds rubbed lotion on my belly last night and kept saying "brother" over and over. He's 2.5 so this is still weird to him.

This weekend we had a garage sale thanks to my extreme nesting and the night before we drove around putting up signs. My ds kept saying "careful mommy! Watch for cars. Be careful mommy" then I got out of the car near the lake in our community and he said "careful mommy. there's water." This weekend we went to the grocery store and as I was walking with him between our car and the one next to us he said "don't touch that car mommy. It's not yours." I've said the same thing to him so I'm glad he is listening . lol

DD#1 says she can't breathe when told to clean up the floor or that she can't lie on her belly to get the stuff from under the bed... Cute? Yes... Irritating? OH YEAH!

DD#2 walks up randomly and puts a hand on my belly and asks "Baby kicking?" And I'll answer her honestly... But the other night he wasn't so she went over to her dad and did it to him... He and I were DYING laughing and he told her nope it's just fat in my belly...no baby!

DD#3 doesn't talk too much but insists on trying to make my current outie back into an innie... OUCH!!!!

So cute. My 11 year old DD used to have some good ones when she was little. One time she just stopped what she was doing, looked at me and said 'my brain says meow' lol, was funny because it was so random. Then one time at church, when she was about 2 or 3 she leans over to me during the service and whispers 'baby Jesus is ascared of crocodiles' lmao. Again, totally random. She had a lot of them wish I wrote them all down.

DD talks to DS through my belly button because "that's how he hears momma...duh."

the other day I"m sitting on the couch and she pulls my shirt up and starts talking to him. "hello baby brother, I love you!." DS kicks, she gasp and says "oh my gosh! he kicked! He loves me too!"

another favorite. DD is feeling my belly when LO starts squirming and she asks if it is his head. I explain it his tush, and his head is down. She looks at me and asks "so where is his penis?"

DS walked into the bathroom (while I'm on the toilet) as he insists on doing every time anyone is in there. He leans against the wall and says "So, what do you think?"
I couldn't help but laugh. I have no idea where he got that phrase, but it's so funny when kids say things like that when they don't make any sense. I love it!

My nephew is getting dressed while I was over my sisters house and comes out from his room in only his underwear to say "Dad, do me a solid and grab me some pants". He's 5 and it was so cute!

I told my son there was a baby in my belly and he looked down my shirt and said " I want to see the baby". Its so hard to explain to a 2 and a half year old!

DD does the baby is in her tummy thing too. She also says her back hurts a lot (I ice mine daily). We nicknamed the baby Phoenix and so for 8 months it has been Baby Phoenix. Now that we are trying out names, we ask DD if the baby's name can be something and she doesnt' even hesitate with her reply, "No, it is baby Phoenix." She also has to go to the bathroom with me to make sure I'm ok and don't need a bandaid. But my favorite is that, according to her, DH isn't having a baby. She makes sure to tell him that it is OUR baby (DD and me) but "not your's daddy!"

Oh, also when she lays on my tummy she yells at me for kicking her. She will turn around and say "stop it mommy!" when baby girl kicks...then I say it wasn't me, it was the baby, she says it was me and not the baby. The kids are already ganging up on me!

Love this kid, the things she comes up with!

We get my step daughter every other weekend and this last time I must have grown a bunch cuz she says "Wow the baby is getting bigger in your belly." She and then looking super confused says. "Well I guess you will just have to pop to let her out" it was so cute

I asked DD (2.5) to do something the other day and she said very diplomatically "I'm sorry, I'm doing this now." which is exactly what we say to her when she asks us to play with blocks/dolls/playdough right in the middle of making dinner.

I jot a lot of this stuff down in a notebook I keep in my bedside stand because I never want to forget the funny things she says.

i wanted to add another funny one...yesterday I got DD off the bus and she wanted to race. So after a few half ass attempts to actually try to run I said to her.."okay baby, mommy can't run any more." she looks at me and asks "why? are your legs too swollen?"

DD is 3.5, and some of our baby conversations involve BF. She has asked if one side is milk and the other is lemonade so the baby can choose, and I'm still laughing about that one. She wants to know how/when they fill up with milk, and has now moved to how the baby gets the milk out. I've been trying to stay pretty high-level with my explanations, she'll see when the baby arrives, I don't want her talking about my nipples to every stranger until then! She now understands that the milk comes out after the baby is born, so she asked me the other day if we just need to hold 2 bowls to catch the milk then put it in a bottle. Yeesh. I applaud her thinking this out, but I'm running out of explanations!

She also loves on my belly all the time, which warms my heart. Hugs, kisses, conversations, etc. For a while she was convinced that my belly button was a portal to the baby - that he/she could see and hear through it. She also does the squeaky voice 'baby is going to be so small and cute!' comments, which just make me smile. Love that girl!

Oh man, i forgot the best two...Now my daughter will stand with her hands on her hips and say "Mommy, you're driving me crazy!" and has started pressing her forehead against mine and say "You listen to me!" My parents taught her that last one...apparently I did it when I was a kid.

We were at my parents house for dinner last weekend. At some point we asked DS (2.5) where baby Natalie was going to sit for dinner. He proudly announced 'she was too little for real food. She is going to lick baby milk off Mommy's boobs!' The look on my dad's face was classic.

Today I got out of the shower and didn't put my robe on like I normally do. My ds came in the bathroom as I was brushing my hair (while naked). He looks up at me and gasps. I thought he was looking at my huge belly and stretch marks. Then he points to my boob and says with excitement "I like those!" Like father, like son I guess!

My SIL and I were talking to my nephew about the baby. He's still very skeptical about it all but he's trying to understand it all (he's the "baby" of the family for the time being)

We told him to listen to my belly and see if he could hear the baby so he did. Of course when someone touches my belly, the baby stops moving in response. I told my nephew maybe the baby was sleeping so he says "well wake her up!"
