I do want to use the FST's and I'm going to but I want something that isn't so bulky. SO I was thinking of getting some inserts as well. I have putting 2 FST's together but is so bulky I used one but I think I folded it wrong cause he leaked through at nap time. I'll have to play with the FST's I also need to go buy more I only have 4
Oh and when you fold the two together do you lay both of them flat on top of one another than fold? Or are you folding each separately then stuffing in the pocket?
Boy or girl?
ETA: Boy, you likely need more absorbency up front, I'm sure you know that though. Maybe that's what you meant in "folded it wrong". Without extra absorbency in the front?
No i folded it double on the front but I don't think I put it all the way up into the pocket so he was wet on the stomach. Is there something else besides FST's that are think like that and are cheap to use?
The flip organic daytime insert Is just a single layer organic interlock cotton.
It'd be really easy just to buy some fabric and cut it and fold like an insert.
Interlock and jersey (slightly thinner than interlock) but still stretchy like a tshirt material, Both don't fray when cut, but they may roll so sewing the edges would be ideal.
I like to pair hemp inserts with an MF, I find it to be a bit trimmer than 2 MF. I wish Thirsties sold their hemp inserts separately, since MF inserts see to multiply like bunnies in my closet. Thirsties inserts are the only ones that I still use with the pockets that they came with. I've swapped out all my others for flats or paired with the GMD hemp doubler.
A whole stash of hemp can get a bit steep, though. If you decide to go that route, maybe start with a few to see how you like them.
I was at Joanns Fabrics and saw that they have a pattern to make cloth diapers so I think I might try making my own inserts depending on how much the material would be.Might be expensive I don't know? Or is there an actual store that I can go to buy inserts rather online, that way I can feel and see before I buy?
Re: Need help with cleaning my diapers
When it leaked at nap time did you have it in the pocket? I'm confuse with the "I folded it wrong" part.
Are you crafty at all? ITK had a tutorial on making her own inserts. You can buy hemp or bamboo fabric.

Flip day inserts (rectangular flat) -- would probably work for a nap.

(We use one of these under the Newstyle Elementals for ON, so you'd likely need two for ON, and that likely wouldnt fit in a pocket..)
I still think these are expensive! I would hate to tell you to buy a whole stash of them to stuff your pockets.
