I had my eye on a couple of cute options, however, my MIL went out and bought Jason a costume and gave it to us this week. It is the Carter's Elephant costume. I do really like it and since he is obsessed with Elephants, it does work, but I feel like I am missing out on some of my fun here.
Not concerned enough to do anything about it, though. Haha!
My mother bought LO a costume and MIL told me she was looking for one. I told them both no. I was kinda bitchy, but whatever.
I make the kids costumes every year and really enjoy doing so. DS will be 4 this week, so unfortunately he is old enough to pick his own costume and could not be swayed into doing something that would go with DD's costume!
DS is going to be a dinosaur for sure. I'm unsure yet about DD. Dorothy or a ladybug are on the shortlist, and the red glittery Toms I bought for her the other day would go with either Basically, I want her to be something that would allow her to wear a tutu
A Once Upon A Child store just opened down the street so I want to go look at costumes. Except that LO has everything he needs for his cowboy costume. Except a hat, and I think I could crochet that? I've seen some cute patterns.
HA! It took me so long to type my thread trying to get my damn images to load that @missdemeanor, you beat me to it!

We went and picked out costumes last week, DS1 is going to be Spiderman, DD is going to be Belle and LO is going to be the beast! She is so excited they're doing it together. I'm gonna have to make his costume though, at least I have plenty of time to get it done
We found a Tigger costume at a yard sale a few weeks ago, so DD will be Tigger. There are cute little stripey socks that go with it, and I got a hairbow that's orange and black that she can wear either on the hood, or under it (likely the hood won't stay on for long anyways!)

DS2 will go as a caveman...our first Halloween as a dating couple DH and I went as cave people to our college parties, so DS1 was a caveman his first Halloween, and DS2 will get to be one to.
DS1 is going to be an astronaut, DH and I love coming up with an idea and making them. Every year my mom made our costumes when I was a kid, and I want to do the same.
LO is going to be a T-Rex (costume from costco) because DS1 is really into dinosaurs and insisted his brother be one. DS1 will be Hulk (also from costco), and I'm not sure what DH and I will be.
I have tons of costumes in the closet that range from a sexy (read: not appropriate) vampire, to a "Buzzed Light" beer can costume. Last year DH was a NASCAR fan and it was really funny, so maybe we will come up with funny costumes again this year.
I'm undecided if we are going to dress up. I'd love to find a lion jacket. Where there is a mane around the hood. That way it serves multiple purposes and not just a one time investment. We probably will hand out candy, and LO can sit with us if its warm enough. But bed time is 7:30 at the latest, so he will probably be crashing then too. He has 2 halloween outfits already, so he will probably just wear those. One is a pumpkin sleeper, and the other is from Carters/Target. It's got a monster face, and says boo on the butt. I'm probably o.k. with that for this year.
This is my dilemma I want it to be wearable again. .. but T will be a bear in some fashion. I think DH and i will be bears too. I'll wear my mama bear shirt and get a bear hat.
I got bear hats for my dogs at Pet Smart last year, if you want theWHOLE family involved
Our cottage neighbourhood does a Halloween event in August so I made the kids costumes for that. DD will repeat that and be Dorothy. DS's Lego head fell apart when it rained so he has decided he's going as Optimus Prime.
I was totally anti dress up. But then we named our son Jack....and our church that we go to will be having a halloween party so we can't show up sans costume! I won't fit into my dorothy dress to make LO be toto but we are trying to decide how to play on his name:
1) Cheese (Cheddar Jack)
2) Jack-o-lantern
3) Jack in the Box
Either way, I need to get going. Some of my family members totally go all out for halloween so if I can just decide in advance I can borrow their skills to help make it.
LO is going to be a bumble bee if the costume fits! I bought it while I was pregnant and got 9 months but it was on major clearance I think I paid $8 for it. DS I think is going to be a firefighter.. As for me I don't dress up cause I'm lame
@elf828, there is an outdoor mall nearby that does trick-or-treating the weekend before. We always take DS, so we'll take her this year, too. Then we have decided that we will probably all go trick-or-treating together to a few houses, then one of us will take DD home and pass out candy while the other one goes trick-or-treating with DS.
DD has a dragon costume, so I'm making a knight outfit for DS.
@elf828 Last year, I took DD to Boo at the Zoo and trick or treat at the mall. A lot of places have safe trick or treating offered and you could just hang out with the baby and shop a bit.
We are going to the trick or treat party at Disneyland so we are all dressing up. We are doing Alice in Wonderland. LO will be the Cheshire Cat, DD (3 yo) will be the Queen of Hearts, DS (6 yo) will be the White Rabbit, DH will be the Mad Hatter, and I'm Alice.
I think I'm going to take LO to my parents house. They live down the street from his aunt, so he can go trick or treating there. And then he can help grandma pass out candy.
C is going to be a little Scot. (Does that mean I should make DH dress up too and be a great Scot? HA HA, sorry.)
My parents wen tot Scotland for their anniversary and brought C back a baby kilt (which I had asked for.) We are going to a wedding the weekend before that he will be wearing it in, and then we will let him wear it for Halloween too.
Oh, and he will be wearing something beneath that kilt.
"Elsie Irene was born sleeping at 35w 6d on December 8, 2012. Mommy and Daddy miss you sweet girl."
@elf828 We probably will just dress up for pictures, and possibly sit and hand out candy. That's why I ended up getting the yardsale costume rather than a full price new one--she won't wear it for long, and we probably won't be going anywhere, so it seems silly to spend so much money on something she will only wear a few hours at most.
We usually don't get many trick-or-treaters, but we have a few 'regulars'. And, I always make up little baggies full of stuff for one of our neighbor's two kids and their two cousins (the neighbor's brother works with MH, so they all know each other, and the 4 cousins trick or treat together every year).

We went to a second hand store and I couldn't decide. So we got an owl costume, a Tigger costume, and a bumblebee. I am hoping that between a work party, family party and Halloween night, I can use them all. Wishful thinking.
I was shopping today and wanted to buy ALL the costumes... Even though I'm making Reece's. And Halloween Jammie's. And the Christmas ones are out too....
I got a baby ewok costume on Amazon a couple of months ago but I haven't tried it on LO yet. It looked so cute in the pictures and wasn't so expensive, about $20.
