Can we use this name?

I asked this before but I'm really starting to second guess myself.  We picked out the name Luke Henry T.  for baby boy #3.  My name is Laura.  Two people commented about Luke and Laura from General Hospital when I mentioned the name.  I never watched soaps and really never made the connection, but now I am starting to be bothered that people will make this connection.  Do I still use this name or should I start thinking of other options?

I have never seen General Hospital either. I guess it depends on whether or not you are okay with some people having that association. If anyone did bring it up, you could always just reply with the truth: "I have never seen that show."

I think it sounds fine. I have no idea what those people were referring to.

Oh use the name! Every name and name pairing has a connection to some song/show/celeb/etc. And a general hospital reference is far from the worst it could be! Plus I think General Hospital is very generational so not everyone has seen it (my mom yes, me no)

Who is Lucky?  See I really never watched soaps. Other siblings are Ryan and Emma and this is our last.  No pets

I watched GH as a teen so I would make the connection, but it would just make me smile. It wouldn't be a lasting impression on you/your child. Luke and Laura have two children - Lucky and Lulu. So ya, avoid those names and you're ok

I used to watch GH for many years, so I would get the connection, but it's NBD to me. It's definitely not a bad association.

Going to be honest, as soon as I read Luke and saw your name was Laura, I didn't even have to read past it to think of GH. But, my mother and I are big GH fans. We call our dog Emma- LuLu because of LuLu on GH. I don't see it  has being an issue, it's not a huge deal. I actually like the name Luke.

Use it. The connection is obscure and it's not like you are naming twins Luke and Laura.

When I hear the name Luke, I immediately either think of Luke and Leia or Luke and Laura from General Hospital.  I have never watched GH but know who they are.  Their wedding was almost to the level of "Who Shot J.R.?"  I would not consider it obscure.

Yeah this is what I am afraid of...ugh.  I have to think about this.  I definitely wouldn't use it for siblings but might not be horrible for mom and son.  It took my DH and I forever to agree on a boy name so hopefully I can get over it.

Luke and Laura are both classic, common names. There's no way you're the only Laura with a son named Luke, and there's no reason why a soap opera should deter you from using a name.
