Looking at maternity jeans and trying to decide between the full panel or kind that goes under the belly. My daughter was 10 1/2 lbs and 23" long, so I got quite large with her. We're guessing the twins will go to 8 lbs each. I'm worried the full panel won't fit at the end. Any advice greatly appreciated.
Um- maybe jeans will work in the second trimester but I wouldn't count on them making it to the end? (By the end dresses were the only work clothes that fit and I was in the under the belly style stretchy sweats type pants otherwise.)
I wore full panel jeans to the end (granted I didn't go full term but I would have fit into the full panel jeans to the end.) I was pregnant in the winter so dresses were not really an option (well, I had to wear tights with them) I also wore a lot of legging with full panel as well.
PS - although it is not unheard of for twins to be 8 pounds, even at full term, it would be very unlikely!!
D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs. Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!
I'm 25 weeks and I prefer the full panel (which is opposite of what I preferred with my singleton). The other ones just don't seem to hold up and I'm constantly pulling them up, plus they are getting pretty tight. If I go up in size, they might be looser but they aren't going to solve the sagging issue. The thing I hate about the full panel is that I roll it down and it tends to bunch up or roll down even further which annoys me. I guess there isn't any winning with me.
I know 8 lb twins are unlikely, but my midwife and doctors agree it's a good possibility in my case. Big babies run in my family (we're all quite tall), so I'm preparing myself. :-)
I think I'll get some of each type and try and find dresses that won't look like tents.
I went full term with huge boys!! When I delivered I was 199 lbs. I was only able to wear jeans (full panel) until 5months. I found them just WAY too constricting on my "under-gut"! I ended up wearing black yoga pants to work for the last few weeks. Overall, I preferred full panel pants.
Me:35, DH: 39
TTC since March 2011. All bloodword, SA & HSG are normal.
I wore full panel throughout. The one thing I hated at the end is they made me really itchy but looking back I wonder if it was the heat and the fabric combined.

I'm 29 weeks right now and wearing full panel. Not sure if that will work towards the end but the low panel shorts I've been wearing (and need to retire with weather changing) are digging in and fold over which annoys me. Fortunately I'm not working so I think yoga pants will be the staple in the coming weeks...
the idea of 16 lbs of baby makes me cry. I don't think they'll let you get that big!

Honestly, at the end I could only do maxi dresses. I wore under belly jeans until about 25 w then full panel until 30ish. After dresses and yoga pants were the only "comfortable" clothes.
I bought a pair of each back in first tri and liked the underbelly pair better in the beginning when it was all bloat but switched to the full panel as I grew a big enough bump to hold them up. At 36 weeks it's all full panel now for me if I have to go out in public. At home I don't bother and wear the same couple pairs of comfy pajama pants and soft cotton shorts.
I only owned full panel jeans, but I wore yoga pants most of the time anyway (still do, 15 months out - ha!). By the end my PUPPPs was so bad that I couldn't have worn jeans if you paid me a hundred dollars to do it. And I only went to 37 weeks and had twins over 7lbs each, so you never know. I know a couple other ladies on here have said they had 8+ pound twins.
I also wore jeans until the end (wore them to the hospital for my c-section). Mine had elastic on both sides but a normal zipper and button. I loved them. My only issue was that it was a little itchy, so I usually wore a belly band with them.
I went to 39 weeks and my babies were 8lbs 6oz and 7lbs 2 oz. My jeans lasted me up to about 32 weeks (I prefer full panel), then towards the end I pretty much just wore my Old Navy maxi skirts or a pair of yoga pants. I did have to purchase a few new items in bigger sizes at the end of my pregnancy, because I had grown out of most of my maternity clothes from my first pregnancy.
Okay people are kind of scaring me now... I'm 30 weeks and went to maternity pants (full panel) a couple weeks ago. Before I was just rockin' the dresses since they're more comfortable in summer.
My bump wasn't really big enough to keep full panel maternity pants up until 24ish weeks.
Hoping I'm not going to outgrow my new pants in a couple weeks!

I have full panel jeans and at 29 weeks the panel still fits fine but the waist band of the jeans is so uncomfortable. It digs in. It didn't do that with my singleton. I will be in soft pants most of the time from here on.

I'm almost 31 weeks and still having luck w/ my low panel jeans from Old Navy. I have a pair of full panel from there too, but I find them itchy and not as comfortable. Probably depends on the brand. GL!
I went to 33 weeks and only had 5lb babies, but full panel was what I liked. I had 1 pair of under belly and they sucked. Fell down all the time and were nit comfortable. I think my jeans would have continued to fit it the end. I never did dresses or yoga pants.
