Quick little trip to L&D

Over the last few days I've noticed a marked increase in very watery discharge. Nothing pad soaking or down the leg dripping, but enough to make me want to change a panty liner a few more times a day than before.

I finally thought to do a sniff test today and it was definitely sweet and not at all like urine (I've got a cough and had sort of just figured it was pee leaking). I remember from last time that sweet smelling can mean amniotic fluid so I called my doctors office and they had me head into L&D to check for sure.

I got there, got changed and hooked up the monitors and waited about 10 minutes for my doctor. He had to use a cold speculum (most sterile) to go in for a peak. Things are definitely on the watery side, but the slide didn't show any signs of amniotic fluid. He said it might be a leak up high, but since it's so small I'm ok to wait until I go into labour, as I'm (yay) GBS negative. Plus, baby girl was great on the monitor the whole time.

Soooooo, here I am, back at work. We were supposed to go out for lunch to celebrate today too, oh well!
