How much water are you drinking??

Hey! I was just wondering how much water everyone drinks daily? I was drinking about 150 ounces a day before I got pregnant. Now I am drinking between 100 to 150 ounces daily. I am worried about drinking too much. I was a diet coke addict and once I started trying to pregnant I switched to water and I am now addicted to it!

Re: How much water are you drinking??

  • My husband saw something that in general you should take your weight in pounds, divide it by two, and that's how many ounces per day you should be drinking. That's my daily goal, as I did not drink enough water prior to this pregnancy!

How much water you drink also depends on your activity level and diet. For example, if you eat a lot of high water content food, that contributes to your water intake. If you work out or perspire a lot, more water may be required. I work out daily, and on average, I drink 8oz every hour. It is also important to remember that if you are feeling thirsty, you are already experiencing dehydration.

  • I don't really work out, but I live in the South and it is really hot!!! So I probably just try to do a 100 ounces a day and maybe more if I am super thirsty.
  • What PP said is exactly right....if you are thirsty, you are already dehydrated..so by all means drink drink drink, even if that means 100 oz a day. I have no idea how much water I drink...I have a 24oz water bottle at work that I fill 2-3 times a day, and then I usually have a glass with dinner and keep a glass by my bed. I drink green tea as well.
  • I think I just am a camel, I drink like three glasses of water with both my dinner and lunch.
  • On avg probably close to 100 oz

on days that I teach spin it is probably more as I drink close to 48oz in the time that I teach /directly afterward (probably within 1.5 hours)

  • I only drink 48 to 64 ounces a day. I drink 3 to 4 water bottles. Which doesn't seem like a lot. But I only weigh 100 pounds so that is the recommended amount for me.
  • It's pretty amazing that when you become a "water drinker", it becomes easier and easier to drink high volumes at one time. There are times I can drink 32 ounces in less than an hour.

  • Yes! I absolutely love water now! It tastes so good and my skin looks soooo much better since I quit drinking diet coke.
  • Not enough. I have a ~24oz water bottle and I try to fill it twice but I don't always. Hopefully once I'm feeling better I'll be able to drink more.

  • Well I am drinking a ton and now the girls in the office are asking me are you sure you don't have a UTI?! I'm like no, I am drinking a ton of water and pregnant. I feel like I need to wear a diaper-ha!
  • @djm31012‌ I thought that green tea was a no no since it blocks folic acid absorption?

One cup a day is not a problem.
