5 week 6 day ultrasounds......dates are off and no heart flutter yet.....can dates chafe?

I had a vaginal ultrasound today because I had horrible cramps.  We got pregnant through fertility treatment and things just make me nervous. I was scheduled for my 6 week on monday but didn't want to wait the weekend unsure if my cramps meant something bad was happening. Everything looked great and the picture looks like an egg yolk with a spot in it. I measured 5 weeks 3 days instead of 5 weeks 6 days (by date of LMP). I know when I ovulated because testing for the IUI. Dr. said the sac at this stage is just an estimate. Has anyone had their dates change between appointments? We couldnt see the heart flutter yet so I am thinking of pushing back my monday appt a few days to try to get the flutter. When have people seen the flutter? I have my 8 week scheduled with my regular gyno. , as opposed to my fertility dr. and am thinking of pushing that back a few days too. Why are the dates different?

    Dates can be off a little...and 5 weeks my sac was measuring 6 days ahead and now I am 10 weeks and I am measuring 1 day ahead. As for heartbeat...it varies. Usually by 6 weeks you can maybe see one transvaginally....but that is not always the case. Sometimes you have to wait until 7 weeks. Good luck!!

    Eta: from my experience many REs don't release until around 8 weeks.

    we moved our monday apt to friday, 6 weeks 6 days, to try to see the heart beat. ......then our regular gyno apt is the following Friday. Our RE just said make the apt with gyno, didn't mention conditions needing to be met.

    I went to the ER for bleeding at 5.5 weeks with my first. The vaginal ultrasound showed a sac & yolk, but not much else. My levels continued to rise. At 7 weeks exactly, there was a guppy and a heartbeat strong enough to hear. That little guppy is 3 and driving me crazy at this exact moment by not picking up his cars like I asked.

    From what I understand you can give yourself a few days in either direction and still be okay regarding measurements and how far along you are. 
    5w6d is too soon more than likely to see the fetal pole or heartbeat. I went at 6w3d and was pushing it, but I did see the baby and hear the heartbeat. 
    Second pregnancy, God willing - first baby.

    I went today , 6 weeks 4 days , and saw and heard the heartbeat!! So awesome
