Hey Ladies,
ok, so we're totally slacking - how's everyone doing?!
i had a REALLY tough couple of weeks food wise - i was treating my body like a garbage disposal (as per the usual), and had three straight weigh-ins of no progress. i was so down on myself, and i cried ugly tears. so toward the end of last week, my mom kicked my butt back into gear. when i weighed myself yesterday, i was down almost three pounds! some of that was water weight b/c of all the salty snacks i was eating, but it is progress none-the-less!
so i went back and looked at the first track club, and i am down 10 pounds! that's something that i haven't been able to say for a while. i started out at 214 (8 days pp), and now i'm 204. i'm 5 pounds from my first goal of 199. i'm hoping to be there by DS's birthday at the end of the month. we'll see!
i've been super active. at least walking my very hilly neighborhood every day, and i took a class at the gym too! it kicked my butt, but it was wonderful to be working out again.
so my goals this week remain the same. i want to take 2 classes at least, and then walk every day. it's going to get harder because i'm starting to go back to work part time (three hours a day), for the remainder of my maternity leave, but with some help, i can definitely do it!! ![]()
i hope everyone is well this week! let's hear your goals/progress!!
Re: 9/15-9/22 Track Club - We're Slacking!
My mom heard a phrase: "imperfect progress". We are all still taking steps - we need to be kind to ourselves and just give ourselves time. Most of us are less than 2 months pp! It seems like an eternity, but it is a drop in the bucket.
I'm giving myself a year. I just need to keep plugging forward - it'll be hard, and I'll have setbacks, but as long as there's progress, it doesn't have to be perfect all the time!
Also , if you're going to stick with it, I'd recommend getting some bike shoes that will clip into the spin bike pedals - they help you get more out of the exercise because you can pull as well as push the pedals. My shoes are technically for mountain biking, but they still work for cycling and spinning and are easier to wear in doors.
It's getting chilly here ( twin cities) so I'm going to reactivate my gym membership next week and I'm hoping that helps. I'm ready to get back to Zumba!
i miss the twin citites so much!! DH and i lived there for 4 years before we got married - we loved it there (lived in downtown Mpls and then Downtown St. Paul for 3 years).

Last week was my best week yet. I was firing on all cylinders eating and exercise wise. I even managed to eat a bit of a baptism cake on Sunday and not go back for seconds. (Well, my friend threw my plate away when I tried to go back for seconds.)
I am down 2.4 pounds this week, and my next mini-goal is insight. I have 2 main goals right now - I am determined to not buy any new jeans. The weather is becoming quite chilly here in Upstate NY so I have to stick with this! My second goal is that I will be able to get off of my yarn diet and buy even more fiber goodness. I have another 8 pounds to go to get to that mini-goal.
- I am hitting over my 10,100 steps a day and am upping it to 10,200. Not trying to get too crazy, just ramping it up a bit.
- I will continue to devote 300 calories to the treat of my choice each day to keep me sane. Cold turkey just does not work with me. I just need to moderate the amount of a treat.
- I am exercising each day, but had to bring the cardio down to 20-25 minutes (sometimes finished in a couple chunks over the course of the day) after adding a 30 day challenge. The strength takes a bit of time because my toddler is determined to help me out, haha.

I started out the class really, REALLY critical and not the least bit ashamed of what I saw in the mirror. But as the class went on, I started seeing my reflection differently. I ended up thinking that I looked pretty ok, and I was actually pretty impressed with what my broken body could accomplish (even though I had to modify most of the moves for lower impact).
I guess the point is that even if you're not crazy about yourself right now, you can do more than you think, and it may just make you feel better about yourself even if you're the most out of shape person in the class... Not that I'm talking about myself or anything
So when I get up in the morning I'll just set a goal depending in what the day looks like. Hopefully this helps get me on track! Good luck to all of us this week!!

I love it here too! I've lived all over (Texas, upstate NY, NC and here) and this is my favorite! ( second to Texas of course , cause that's "home").
We both initially lived in Uptown and loved it! I had at apt right on lake Calhoun
And for you and other the spinners @MSUDucks: I'm not good with brands, sorry
.....
My goals for the week or going to shit... Lots of baby throw up, lots of unplanned bath times during my run times
I took another spin class this morning (thanks to lo taking an extra long nap for daddy this morning!), and i feel great. My bum hurt at first from the one I took earlier in the week, but surprisingly, that went away as the class went on. Good way to start the weekend.
