Do your LOs have preferences for any characters like Mickey, Winnie the Pooh, Elmo, Dora, etc? Have they been exposed to them at all? Nikolai wouldn't know Mickey Mouse (or any other character for that matter) from a hole in the ground - we don't watch any DVDs or shows like that or anything and he doesn't have any character themed toys. Just wondering if I am inadvertently denying him something he would really enjoy.

Re: Preference for characters (ie: Disney, etc.)
Sylvia doesn't watch TV or have any character clothes/toys yet (I'm not against it eventually, just hasn't seemed necessary yet), but the other day we were at the store and she flipped over a picture of Big Bird, Elmo, and Grover. It was so funny! She kept reaching for it and making me take her to where she could see it.
MH or my sister may have had Sesame Street on once or twice in the background, but Sylvia doesn't sit and watch it, so I don't think she'd recognize them. It did make me think that maybe she'd like to watch it, though, ha ha!
DS loves the theme song for The Backyardigans, but not sure he'd recognize any of them if we turned it on mid-episode. Same thing for Bubble Guppies. We have some Pooh toys, but I don't think he has any clue that his book "matches" his Classic Pooh rattle or the shape sorter, etc.
she hasn't seen anything enough to recognize anyone.
DH has put on Mickey Mouse clubhouse for her a few times.

The only thing LO watches is Little Einsteins on demand... I like it as well. I tried Mickey Mouse Clubhouse today and I wanted to poke my eye out...
Also Sunidaze - watch out with Spongebob and babies/toddlers... I went back and googled this article I read last year, which argues that Spongebob may negatively effect executive function skills of toddlers ... (obv. take this with a grain of salt - but I thought I would share)

Sam has no idea... I guess I haven't ever shown him any disney characters.
He locked eyes and fell in love with a stuffed cat of my nieces though. (It's one of those really funny ones that have the oversized eyes)
Same here. We've never turned on anything specifically for her. All she has (inadvertently) seen is the local news when we have it on. haha.
This. She also has a little lamb stuffed animal that she knows as "Lamby" and will go find and kiss it if you ask, "Where's Lamby?"
We don't have him watch kids TV (no flames at all, the TV is on PLENTY), so I don't think he recognizes anyone.
BUT for Christmas, my husband bought my son a full sized Buzz Light Year and Woody from the Disney store, which I thought was ridiculous, since he is so young and he can't really play with them yet. But ... when MH brings them out, LO freaks his sh!t. He LOVES them. He thinks it's hilarious when they "talk." Go figure!
We don't have cable, so she's never seen any TV shows here at home and has not been exposed to any of the characters for children yet. My dad always tries to show her TV when we go visit him and she's never shown any interest while there. She has both a Mickey and Minnie Mouse stuffed animals that were gifts, but she doesn't seem to care one way or another about them yet. Her favorite stuffed toy is just a random pink owl that a friend gave her. She loves that thing!
I've been thinking about taking her to Disney World before we move from FL (it's just an hour away from us right now), but I'm not sure that she's old enough to enjoy it yet.

BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
I don't put on any tv for Maya, so she hasn't been exposed to any characters. DH puts Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on for her when I'm at the gym and swears she loves it and reaches for the screen. But when he tried to show me, she wasn't interested in the tv at all. She just wanted to climb all over me, lol.
She has shown more interest in her stuffed animals (generic animals, not characters) and kisses them a lot now- so cute!
