April 2015 Moms

11w2d and HUGE!

So everything I read says that every body is different, but the average time to start getting the noticeable baby bump is 14-16 weeks. Well... I'm at 11 and I already look huge with an obvious baby bump. This is not bloat that goes down in the middle of the night, this is a legit baby bump. On top of things my once D sized boobs are fitting in Es if not Fs! This is my first baby, I am 21! Is anyone else like this? I'm feeling a little self conscious because there is another girl on my Facebook who posted a 16 week "bump" and I swear she looks smaller than I did before I even got pregnant!

Re: 11w2d and HUGE!

  • Remember how big your baby is right now?  Look at how big your belly is...does it match up?  No...bloat.

  • This is my 2nd pregnant, I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow and my ute is definitely above my pubic bone. I am not showing. I repeat: I am NOT showing. I am bloating.

But if you say you're showing, then you're showing.

  • It is very very unlikely that you have bump that isn't bloat. Especially as a first time mom. It is easily possible for your Facebook friend to look smaller than you when she's 16 weeks. If you ask most of the second time moms around here, they will tell you that they already look 16 weeks pregnant...from bloat.

  • @souptin‌ & @RHoPA1109‌ you two are very active members of this board, you know the ropes. And it's not all of the FTMs...but the majority of the duplicate posts are from the FTMs who don't hang around enough to know they should take a peak at what's happening before declaring that they are showing at 5w0d. Can't wait to see those pics @souptin‌ haha :)

  • I'm 11 weeks and I definitely feel huge, but it's all bloat. Oh, the attractive things of motherhood no one warns you about.

I'm also a FTM and I know how to read threads and how to search! I also know how to look at medical illustrations that clearly indicate that I won't be showing for a long while. So please don't throw us all in the same boat!

I did not say ALL FTMs don't know how to search the board. I said the majority of the duplicate posts are from FTMs. There is a difference.

  • I have major bloat...mine dosent go down even if I manage to poop. At 10 weeks, it's impossible to be showing. My boobs have also gone from a D to an F. It's just one of the joys of pregnancy.
  • My bloat doesnt go away overnight either. Jesus, i wish. I just look fat. And also, fundus. Because you can't say that word enough...

  • @RHoPA1109, yup, likely... The Mat21/Harmony test posts are also coming soon, followed by the "It's a...." posts.

There already is one. And I, as a FTM, am all wtf is all this?!? I've never even heard of these words? Nor did my doc mention at my 8wk! So should I be worried/asking about this??? Gah!!

Will officially look to to you ladies to prep us for these "stages" and the what's real, what's ignorable, and what's just plain funny.

  • I'm 11w 6d and totally looked pregnant today for the first time...I credit the FIVE slices of pizza I had last night and the 4 days of constipation. Read: blump not bump!! C'mon girls. FTM here too -- calm it down! You're going to have like 4-5 full months where there's little to no doubt you're pregnant. In the meantime, if you think you 'might' or are asking if you do have a real bump -- you don't!!!

  • I said I was sorry for offending people and I am truly sorry. I mean no harm by any of it! I'm just trying to be positive. Obviously there's always going to be someone that disagrees and I respect your opinions. I'll make sure to check the other posts next time, as for the positivity I believe my baby can sense the positivity/negativity. Just my personal belief, you don't have to believe it too.

    But you were being negative...
  • I don't know how trying to encourage people taking a positive outlook is negative. I never said I'm sorry, but. I said I was truly sorry. And I explained that it was my personal belief in hopes not to offend anyone else. That is the best I can do. I am sorry! And I hope that you all have great nights and wonderful and safe pregnancies.
  • OMG: stop making excuses. Plenty of us are FTMs. Common sense dictates that you do a little homework before you go asking strangers to do it for you. You wouldn't ask your boss a question that you could easily research yourself, would you?

This BS response is akin to blaming autocorrect for your spelling and grammar errors.

Btw, sounds like you got all of your answers from your provider anyway. Were you just trying to get some company for your misery?

  • I was hoping to find people in my situation to know I'm not alone in this. My husbands gone on deployments and all of the pregnant women I know were very thin or didn't have any change up until 20 to 25 weeks. It's nice to know you're not the only one going through something! Which is why I said next time I will make sure to get on a computer to search before posting something on my phone. I hadn't been on this community post for awhile and when I was having a super bad day from other peoples negative comments, I thought I would post on here to see if anyone else in my situation wanted to talk, vent, whatever. It's nice to be able to relate to someone and feel more normal. Obviously if I had known there were more posts I would have posted on them, I will make sure to check next time.

Whatever this is actually really sad to me! I realize I should not have name called, that was rude of me. I didn't mean for this to be my personal support group but everyone's support group. I didn't realize there was more than this post because my phone is quite slow to load and is really old. I will check next time. But obviously if there are four other posts out there a lot of girls are experiencing this. Those of you who were annoyed I'm sorry, you didn't have to read on and you didn't have to comment. Those of you who I insulted I am quite sorry, I definitely had no intentions of doing that. I was asking if anyone else was similar to me in experiencing this and I thank everyone who commented helpful constructive things instead of negative feedback. I didn't realize that a super hard stomach (even after pooping regularly) could still be bloat. I am a definite first time mom so this is all so new to me. I just feel like positive feedback is much more helpful than negative feedback, and think it's really sad how many negative comments were left. You're not only bringing me down, that negative energy is going to you and your baby as well. We are supposed to try and be happy and stress free! Don't be that girl who causes drama/stress.

FYI; Sly comments about people's baby's neveeeer go over well
Also, if there weren't umpteen previous posts, you might have seen the daily symptoms thread where we all go to talk about how we are feeling and many complain of their blumps. Had you asked your question there, the group would have been more receptive.

This is why everyone is so irritated with the multiple SS posts on the same topic.

  • Wow. FTM here as well. I thought this website is full of support. Please do not post anything if you don't have anything nice say. It's quite stressful for FTMs.

Sometimes I would ask my husband all questions as he reads more than I do, he is great with his answers and we would both research the same thing on the Internet in bed and talked about it. He suggested for me to join a forum for Mums-to-be and share my experience and ask questions as well. This is the first thread I visited on here and I must say, some of the replies are a bit too mean.

I am almost 10 weeks with twins, I work full time, feeling tired all the time, bad nausea and eating more than I should to get the nausea feeling at bay - this of course made me put on a bit of weight but my husband always says I looked like I am showing and that made me happy. Every women are different. Some who shows early could be carrying twins, triplets or more!
  • I am saying if someone posted and you don't have anything nice to say, just leave it be. Ignoring is another way of doing it rather than throwing rather hurtful words. Let other new mums to be read it and share the experience with her. Don't be mean. I am not judging you. If I feel it doesn't have anything to do with me, I won't reply to a post. Be nice, we are all on the same boat here.
  • I'm definetly sporting something that is much bigger than my usual period bloat at 11 weeks and 4 days, doesn't matter what the technical terms are, just enjoy watching ur body change and prepare for ur babe!
  • Ultimately you know your body best! No one can tell you it's just bloat because every body is different. Congrats on your first pregnancy!!

Except that we can tell you its just bloat because showing means that your uterus is big enough to not still be behind your public bone. See the fundus picture posted previously in this thread. You can call it showing if you want but we can tell you that you're wrong. if you don't want to be told that youre wrong, don't be wrong or don't post.
